Cross-Country Skiing Men's 50km Mass Start Classic:
See if Norway can take the 3 first places, as it looks now. But will Kläbo take it in the final spurt?

Guess there's some Swedes further down...but I haven't seen much of them 😉

Lock in eh? Canada-US at 14:10 CET.

The Gala last night was really fun with some amazing performances but my fave was the Kung Fu panda by Mikhail Shaidorov "Deadpool" and a "Mortal Combat" guy appeared. Then Misha did a triple axel STILL in his panda costume.

Afterwards, guess who gave him a panda plushie at the exit from the rink...Jackie Chan!!!!

Oh, a simultaneous backflip by Ilia Malnin and Adam Siao (wow)! Great touching performance by Amber Glenn, and so many others.

Whew, what a game. 🫣

I just saw this while watching it this morning! This year, both the men’s and women’s hockey teams faced off against Canada in their gold medal games, and they both won! It’s especially exciting because the US men’s hockey team hadn’t won gold in 46 years until now.

Y’all catching the closing ceremony live now ?

I also really enjoyed the figure skating team USA this year. They had some new faces, including the Quad God, Ilia Malinin, who took Nathan Chen’s place after Chen retired from the Olympics after Beijing 2022, and performed backflips and quad axel jumps that no one else could do. Plus, Alyssa Liu, a second-time Olympian, won gold in women’s singles figure skating, which is another amazing moment in this Olympics. The women’s figure skating team USA hasn’t taken a gold since the early 2000s until now.

This year is the BEST Olympics ever for Winter Olympics. Team USA historically broke lots of records and ended droughts of winning gold medals in various sports. And it was a record for the most medals given to the team!

Let's not forget that Ilia Malinin got a gold in the team event as did Amber Glenn who came back in the women's singles skate long pèrogram (still not enought to medal). Shout out to team Japan as well. Odd that I am so passionate about figure skating and hockey given winter is my least favourite season. Well I like tennis and football (soccer) too.

Unforgettable moments were shared there. Despite Glenn and Malinin’s relentless efforts to secure their own medals in the single free skates in men’s and women’s figure skating respectively , they remained committed to the team event. Taking their first golds as first time Olympians

Kaori Sakamoto, who has been skating since the Pyeongchang Olympics six to seven years ago, I am delighted that she was chosen to be the flag bearer during the closing ceremony. Her performance in her final appearance at this year’s Olympics and being a runners up to the women’s figure skating singles with a silver medal 🥈 was truly remarkable, and she will be retiring after this event.
