21.5" Delivery Times Thread

Because it arrived early I haven't transferred all my stuff to the external I'm going to use to migrate. So I'm stuck here backing up my iTunes library and pictures ready to transfer over. Wish I was on the new machine. It looks so tempting in the box, but space on my desk is limited so I have to do this first. Hope yours turns up soon.
 
Hi all (first post today!)

Ordered the spec'd up 21" on Dec 1, and they've been indicating 7-10 business days for delivery delivery 17-20th... But I'm seeing so many others on here ordering the same machine after me and getting them already??? I'm in Oz, would this be causing the delay?

Speaking of migrating...will migrating from my MacBook Pro to my new iMac transfer all files and settings, so when I open up my iTunes library on my iMac everything will be loaded similar to the way it was all set up on the MacBook Pro? Just curious :)
 
Mine has been sitting in Louisville, KY since noon yesterday. I wish the dang thing would move!

Yall are so lucky who have received them !!! .... I ordered my i7 3.1GHz, 16GB RAM, 1TB Fusion Drive from MacMall on the 28th of November.... they said they were expecting to have them instock on the 30th and my order is still showing BACKORDERED.... starting to loose patience with them and thinking I should have just ordered through Apple and paid the sales tax..... Now MacMall is saying the middle of December ......

It will move Sunday. I wished I had paid for expedited shipping until I heard from my husband all the things I have planned for this weekend. LOL
 
Funny thing is I forgot to chose express shipping, and it still came early. I guess Apple must have seen all the stuff I purchased this year and realised I deserved it!

And this morning it changed status to Preparing for Shipment :p
 
I didn´t know you could change the delivery time by selecting a different kind of shipping. In fact I´m pretty sure you cannot choose any other form of delivery when ordering from Apple in Norway. I think I need to call them on monday... :) Min had 2-3 weeks, meaning 22 would be the absolute latest day before dispatched, but still I got 7-8th of january for delivery. Thats nearly 3 weeks of shipping, thats ridiculous! :(

I didn't see an alternative kind of shipping method either. But I wouldn't worry!
I was given delivery from the 18th-20th dec. and mine turned up yesterday. Although I wasn't in to take collection (redelivering Monday now)
And that was standard shipping!!
So just keep an eye on your account. As you will probably get it sooner than you think!

Now the status changed to shipped :) Cant track the UPS tracking # yet though. But i guess it just a matters of hours before it appears in their system.


Estimated Delivery Date is dec. 12 now :) That is almost 10 days before the original est. delivery date :)

Migration went reasonably well on the first account (mine). Didn't migrate my wife's and daughters though. Having to do it manually from a hard drive back up but no biggie (once I found out you use the + symbol in user accounts to add a new user!)

Anyone knows how to track it via UPS? The reference number provided by apple doesn't seem to work!
Or does it take some time until the tracking system recognizes the reference #?

I have the same problem. Think it might take a while before the ref. number is traceable. Or well i hope so at least...

it'll probably take 24 hours or so before the tracking starts working

Awesome, thanks for the update. I have an external hard drive for Time Machine back-ups and with my iTunes Library on it. I just hate to drag my iTunes library over into itunes on the iMac and screw things up, if I can just do it all in one step with migration.
 
Mine arrived yesterday - 21" Fusion. Currently in a trough of depression as I struggle to take my Windows mindset into a new era. Excitement somewhat tempered, but it's the most beautiful thing to grace my study - significant apologies to the wife !
 
My BTO 21.5 will be arriving 2 days early here in Northern Virginia! I will be eagerly waiting for the UPS man on Monday!
 
21.5" tricked out BTO just shipped yesterday. While my order was being processed, Apple initially quoted a delivery date between 12/19-12/24, but now UPS has me scheduled for a delivery on the 13th. ^^

Can you track that via the UPS website? If so, did you use the ref. No. Apple provided?
