Tracking numbers normally take 12 hours to properly appear. It will change to a 1Z tracking number then.

Yes to both; the UPS tracking number in my notification email from Apple was functioning the moment I got the email.
I never did get mine to work. It was still telling me the 12th as an eta when it turned up on Friday. Luckily the wife was in! Hope you get yours soon! It's a great piece of kit.
It must have hitched a plane from Dublin to Koeln, otherwise it's a glitch...or UPS has teleportation...does anybody else have this?
This seems crazy to me...but I supposed they know what they're doing...I should stop looking at that page...

Am in Massachusetts. iPod left China went to Russia, over to Alaska, down to Tennessee, back to Alaska, over to New York, up to Canada and finally to Massachusetts... Took approx. 3 1/2 weeks for something that was supposed to be 2-3 days max. Definitely didn't pay for that iPod after some calls.

LOL reminds me of the time I ordered a package, The warehouse was in London (About 100 miles away from where I live), it got sent to a town in the US with the same name as mine and then got send back but via Germany then the Netherlands, then Ireland and then the UK lol.
It has now shipped (already!) and estimated delivery is 11th December - annoying because no one was going to be at home this Tuesday :/.Preparing for shipment.
Delivery: 19th - 27th December.
Hopefully it'll come just before Christmas

I ordered my BTO (21.5" 2.9GHz i5, 16GB RAM + Fusion Drive) from Powermax in Oregon (since they gave the best trade-in value on my 2009 i7 27"), and just heard from my salesman today that they are expecting delivery on Monday and it will ship out to me immediately from there. I should see it 12/17-12/18.
For those who don't have a valid working tracking number, you can call Apple and they will give it to you.
My order has gone to preparing to ship Maybe I will get to play with it before I go on holidays otherwise it will be a very loooong 3 weeks
I was getting jealous of everyone else starting to get theirs ahead of schedule, I had ordered within 30 minutes of them being available so thought I was going to be amongst the first to get one.

That ref.-number on the Apple page just changed to a valid tracking number for UPS (starting with Z1...) - now UPS tracking works, yeah!
TRACKING number now works for now but my estimated date when from the 12th to the 13th on apple site )=

Loaded 21.5 ordered on 4th and it's just gone to preparing for shipment. Still forecasting a delivery date between 17th and 20th though.
Mines now shipping and is also showing tracking info for a package from Amman. Guess it's a generic link thrown up. Hope I have a tracking number in the morning. Looks like I will get a play before my holiday! Might find it hard to sleep now

UPS status: In time, location Cork (Ireland), delivery on 13th
Apple status: Shipped. delivery on 14th.
I think, it's arriving on the 13th...
And about 5 hours after preparing for shipment, it's been shipped! Estimated delivery 12th. I would guess they fly these things over from Ireland.
I'd rather trust the UPS delivery date than the one on the apple page...
