Martha adds something to the plot, but I can't stand to watch it. This episode was kinda slow. With the exception of the storming of the consulate. We're exactly half way through the day, the next 12 hours should be rather interesting.

anyone have like a what happened guide, i forgot to set my eyetv
is it worth the $2 to download off of itunes?

Wow, who would have guessed that Martha would lash out like that... well, anyone who saw the previews, I guess.

I'm glad they got Suberov's approval for storming the consulate. It would have been an annoying plot complication otherwise.

I was under the impression that Martha had a heart attack or something because the stress of seeing Charles was too much for her crazy little head to handle. Boy, was I wrong. She didn't seem THAT disturbed. She went straight from kiwi wedge to knife. A big jump in the area of deadly weapons!

I'm also glad that they got Suberov's OK to storm the consulate. I'm sure Bill didn't want to be starting WWIII, besides, that honor is for the Vice President with his nuclear missile . Don't even get me started on him. ;)

Yeah, today was really slow. It's kind of disappointing since last week's episode was the first exciting show of Day 6.

This season is also reaching new heights of ridiculousness. The Russian president is convinced to sacrifice the lives of Russian soldiers just because his wife's friend has some cockamamie story with no hard evidence about the consul being corrupt? It would have been a better plot line for the Russian president to refuse but they barge in anyway.

If Jack gets kidnapped by Russian spies at the very end of the last episode, I might be hanging up my 24 hat for good.

Well he DID call Markov and directly ordered him to surrender, and when he didn't, Subarov was convinced that Markov definitely had something to hide. But I agree with you on the ridiculousness. The writers better get to writing more believable stuff, but I'm way too sucked in to 24 to stop watching it before they stop making it :D.

I'm finding it hard to believe that of the 4 presidents featured on the show, 3 are now dead and one was nearly blown up. Well, I'm assuming Keeler died in season 4 - did they ever address if he was fatally killed or just completely unfit to handle a presidency?

So if that one guy admits to seeing the other guy set off a bomb isnt this going to make the VP look a bit like an ass when he realizes that the person that saw this wasn't even in the damn room?

Last night had its slow moment and its good moments, but I don't think we've seen the customary "take-up-space" episode that most season have had. You know the one that is full of filler and that if taken out of the season no one would even blink an eye to it.

I took it as going to Tom for confirmation that they had one eye witness, not that Tom was the eye witness. As a diplomat I would want as many sources to confirm what had happened but I would not expect the eye witness to be in the room with me, I would hope that the witness is somewhere being questioned/debriefed/protected rather than just going about their daily routine.

I had exactly this argument with someone last week. I swore that I remembered him dying, but further research showed that it was never mentioned. He was completely out of commission (comatose, maybe?) so Logan became Acting President. Except for the timing of Keeler's exact demise, it really doesn't affect the storyline that much.

You hear how difficult the single-day storyline is to write, but it does have some advantages. One of them is that they really don't have to worry about the long-term ramifications of their plot twists because there isn't a long term.

Is it a hunch, or is that you can see through the plot?
Martha will be locked away for a while, and the way that Bill was talking to Aaron I just sense a partnership

Where did Sharapova go?
She went away for a while, maybe she will return. In the mean time enjoy Molly Sims.:) Ok Shrapova will return, found some different ones.

They're not done with Martha yet, she's got something else to contribute. I'll agree with that Aaron statement.

Booooooooo!! I'm protesting your 'tar until I see Sharapova back!

EDIT: Protest ended.

My satellite reception was on the fritz last night, things kept cutting in and out.

In the end, though, I didn't really care. Not one of the better episodes. But it looks like it may be getting better.

NBC and Fox tied in the primetime race on Monday, with NBC winning both time slots in which it went against Fox but sinking a bit on the lackluster performance of The Black Donnellys.

NBC's Deal or No Deal won the 8-9 slot with a 4.3 rating/13 share in the key 18-49 demo, while Fox was second with a 3.5/10 for a rerun of House. In the 9-10 slot, NBC won with a 5.1/13 for another hour of Deal, while Fox earned a 4.5/11 for 24.

It was the 10-11 slot that found NBC wanting. The Black Donnellys earned a 2.6/7, down from last week, although it did manage to beat ABC's What About Brian (2.2/6).

Both NBC and Fox earned a 4.0/11 overall.

CBS was in third place with its lineup of comedies and a rerun of CSI: Miami.

ABC was at No. 4 with a 2.6/7. Its high score was a 3.0/7 in the 9-10 slot for the Supernanny finale.

The CW got a 0.8/2 for an all-rerun comedy lineup.

I thought I specifically remembered hearing that Tom was to be the eyewitness, the VP didn't know that Tom wasnt in the room and Tom was supposed to be there but was in the basement where "no cameras or surveillance" are..

I can't believe people would rather watch Deal or No Deal instead of 24, i can't stand that show its utter rubbish. Then again 24, The Sopranos, and Entourage are about the only shows i regularly watch. I kinda got in to Big Love, but the judge is still out on that for me.

I just figured the VP wanted Lennox to confirm it so he looked more credible to the ambassador.
