Who's that Jack-wana-be? I missed last weeks episode

Mike Doyle, a field agent (?) who Milo worked with in Denver. Apparently he gets off interrogating people more than Jack. We don't know a lot about him other than he and Milo very much dislike each other, and that Milo feels he's very good at what he does (leading field ops, not throwing Nadia in the clink).

update: Here's a page about him on Wikipedia.

I'm looking forward to an eventual face off between Mike and Jack. A little bit of foreshadowing this episode with the "are you sure you don't want me to take point?" line. I guess I'm just looking forward to watching Jack put him in his place...

Of course they could try to surprise us and end the season with Mike putting Jack in his place (only because Jack is currently injured) so there's a good drawn out conflict for the next season(s).

Alright, so Jack "Mr. Singleminded" Bauer decides it's better to have Chloe dig up Audrey's records rather than track down a nuclear-bomb-bearing drone hurtling towards a U.S. city?

Right.

And I don't believe what's-her-name is the leak. In fact, I can't believe they're pulling the whole mole thing back out. My god, get a new trick.

Overall, though, I liked the episode. I like the VP because he's so insanely insane. And probably not too far off what a lot of people think.

I don't think she's a mole, either. Someone will probably figure out that another person slipped some code onto her system just as Doyle is holding a needle to her neck, or putting a bag over her head and turning up some bad music. :p

Perhaps a Jack vs. Doyle rumble is in the works? Easy to see how they could butt heads...

As for the VP, man wouldnt it be crazy if someone like that was really in charge? I mean, it would be crazy! Hmm. Wait a second...

It probably wouldn't be too crazy to say that Doyle's the mole. He framed Nadia because it's the perfect cover, the same cover Reed and that other guy had when they were setting up the bomb. They had the perfect cover - Assad, the Muslim guy who was trying to stop the attacks. These American guys are actually using terrorists as covers for their attacks/leaks because of their deluded patriotism, and I can't even begin to say how screwed up that is.

When Chloe first revealed that there was a leak, there was a quick reaction shot of Doyle. Interesting.

I love how even when something is ridiculous, we're still dissecting the consequences of it. The writers and editors are geniuses at making us go along with whatever happens.

I wish they would introduce a new character that i actually rooted for. Doyle's a jerk and they immediately established that with his confrontations with Nadia and Milo. I guess i'm just used to another person i liked who could also be in the field and kick ass, like Tony or Curtis or Chase.

Come to think of it, i miss Kim too (but not for the ass kicking)

I think it's Milo. I don't want it to be him, but hey.

It probably is Doyle, because they're playing it hard on him. 24 isn't much for complete shockers lately, they let you know what's going to happen well in advance. If it is Doyle, I wish they'd explain how a field officer can outsmart a techie on the computer.

24 is completely ridiculous, and story line seems to be going downhill hard, but I still love it. It's fun.

I agree.I too think it's milo.

I've always suspected him of being a plant.

Probably doing it under duress.

Audrey isn't dead. The photos Jack looked at all hid her face.

I think it's Milo.

It would give him an added incentive to have Nadia working under his account to bypass restrictions. While that may be a felony, it gives resonable doubt to charges of being a traitor especially how they keep playing up the racism/racial profiling this season.

Is it just me, or does the actor who plays Doyle look a bit out of place on a show like 24? He doesn't quite have the gruff look of the personality of his character. I've seen him on Scrubs before, and he looks like he fits in more on a show like Scrubs rather than 24.

No he's perfect for the show. A racist ****** that works for the government. Gotta love it!

zephead- thanks for helping bring back gnarly, my gnarly will return soon.

Nah, I was saying he doesn't look right for the part of racist ****** that works for the government. But he plays it well, and the writers have come up with a good character, I just think the actor looks a little out of place on a show like 24.

What nobody remembers Silver Spoons.

Hahahaha... face it, without that violence the show would suck. See when Martha Logan is on screen.

Don't get me wrong character development is great and it adds to the show, but sometimes we could do without it.
Yes, the show would be much better if Jack throws the terrorists a tea party instead of bashing their heads in with the back end of his gun.

The show needs character development, we are watching a 24 hour period and getting to know the people is useful.
