these references are starting to suck. :D

Apparently that's what Monica did :p

Anyways, I'm still wondering what the next major plot is going to be. Considering if Fayed is captured, that just leaves the Pres v VP situation. Maybe Jack will go on a rampage over Audrey (probably the season 7 teaser).

How about a little (ok a lot) of Kim action. She just has to stand there, no acting required.

My guess is that both Fayed and Gredenko won't survive. At least one will be killed off, maybe both of them. Or one might get away to fight again next season.

Also, the cabal that Graeme was involved in hasn't actually gone away. Jack's father, for one, is still at large and presumably trying to cover his ass in some way. I think it's obvious that the story with Jack's dad isn't over yet.

I did forget about Jack's father. I just feel that there is something else yet to be introduced.

I think Jack's dad is working with Daniels.

And didn't we see Logan flatline? It is strange, though, that nobody has commented on it.

Two hours of Dancing With the Stars put ABC on top of the primetime heap again. The show earned a 5.8 rating/15 share in the key 18-49 demo in the 8-10 slot, down a bit from last week's premiere numbers of 6.3/16, but handily beating all other shows in its path.

The network's What About Brian earned a 3.0/8 for its season finale, coming in second in the 10-11 slot. No word yet on whether the show will be picked up for next season.

Overall, ABC notched a 4.9/13.

Fox was in second place with a 4.0/10 for Prison Break and 24.

In third place, NBC got a 3.2/8 for two hours of Deal or No Deal (a rerun in the 8-9 slot and an original episode from 9 to 10) and The Black Donnellys, which continued to under-perform in the 10-11 slot (2.3/6).

CBS was fourth with a 3.0/8 for an all-encore night (comedies and CSI: Miami).

No offence MacNut, but are these posts really necessary? Does anyone really care what show beat what in the ratings?

Monday nights were never a big night for TV and now all the big shows are going up against each other. The fact that 24 really slipped in the ratings the past few weeks, I think it is an interesting stat to see. When Heros comes back in a few weeks will 24 be able to keep up.

Keep in mind that the only other worthy show on Monday night is Prison Break and that has been losing to a pointless game show.

Historically, 24 has rarely ever won the ratings competition. 24 is a niche show. You sorta need to see it from the start to understand some of the stuff that's going on. (When I say start I mean Day 1 at Midnight)

You need to learn the story of Nina Myers to understand why Jack is who he is today.

The ratings posts only bug me when I get an email saying that someone has posted to this thread, and then I find that the stats are the only new message. I don't even know what the numbers mean--I just assume that higher is better.

Perhaps at the end of the season you could put together a plot of the ratings per week, with the competition, to show how the season progressed?

Quite true. I started with season 3, watched season 1 after that, and still have to catch up on season 2. :p But altogether they do constitute important back-story.

They were more interesting when NBC had Heroes against 24. Both have become pretty big shows for the networks and I was always interested to see how each did against the other. However with Heroes on hiatus I could care less since I don't have to make a decision on Monday nights now...

Thirded. MacNut, as far as I'm concerned you are more than welcome to post the stats if other people find them interesting, but I don't -- I just skip over them.

Yeah, I think the "My God this man is insane" storyline is hovering on the brink of going way over the top, especially since there have now been TWO x:59:59 moments featuring him ordering the nuclear strike.

Fascinating how the show reflects reality in so many ways, though!

This season has definitely lacked something for me for this very reason. Both the storyline and the script have been so repetitive. I thought we were in for a treat of a season when a nuke actually went off in the fourth or fifth episode but in hindsight maybe it went off too early. I don't know. Maybe it would be better to wait for the series to end then watch the last ten episodes in quick succession as I did with days 3,4 and 5. It seems to make for a much better experience.

Also amusing how Jack's busted rib or whatever it was in the last episode has settled down pretty quickly. I think We should start calling him Clarke!

One of my biggest complaints about the show besides his remarkable healing power, is the fact that he never grows any facial hair in a 24 hour period.

He carries an electric razor around. Come on it's Jack. He can't go looking scruffy when he kills a bad guy.

Another thing about the "remarkable healing power": Morris got brutally tortured by Fayed and his men, yet when he came back to CTU, he was working perfectly fine, and if it weren't for the bruises on his head, you'd never guess what happened to him. Seems like he got some pretty good healing powers directed his way.

Milo, on the other hand, still has that sling on from when he got shot once in the arm while he was covering Marilyn. You'd think Morris would be ridden with slings and such and Milo would be ok, but it's the other way around.

I think everyone on 24 wears astronaut diapers. Or they have really strong holding powers.

Maybe thats why nobody ever eats.
