Actually the nuke was kinda obvious. They had to top last season. How are they going to top tonights events.
Forget the nuke. Look what Jack had to do to Curtis. He's killed a co-worker before to save the country, but did he even like that guy. Curtis was Jacks right hand. Saved the day and his girl last season. He was my favorite character next to Jack.

I'm kind of disappointed its a nuke...they already did nukes.

When Jack executed the CTU director in the train yard, that was the worst moment of 24, IMO. I was really disappointed. Curtis is hard to swallow too, but Curtis was disobeying orders and was a liability.

I like the way tonight's show ended. Curtis is a goner, Bauer is utterly destroyed, and the worst terror attack ever just occurred, with many smaller attacks happening all around the country and larger ones looming. It seems like things are about as low as they can go. It makes up for the ridiculous ease with which Jack went from 20 mos secret Chinese prison back to CTU-Jack-of-all-trades.

I've been trying to decide is Jack turning into an animal this season (biting the guard's neck) or is Jack going to unravel (not able to interrogate the mole in Assad's posse)? Maybe he'll oscillate between the two, and his instability becomes a plot feature down the road.

All I know is that 1 hour a week is going to be torture for the next 5 months.

the notebook chloe was using was a Macbook pro, i could see tell this by the isight. I don't know exactly how you saw the imac's but I think you might mean that you saw 3 Apple cinema displays, thats what i saw, i didnt see any imacs. You're talking about the computers chloes husband or returning boyfriend was around the majority of the time right.

mabey they were cinema displays. and i only caught the backside of the notebook chloe was using.

Is looks like next week we get to see more about the mystery bald guy.

Hopefully the day after it's regular broadcast night (tonight). I don't think iTunes has ever stopped carrying a show it's offered for a few seasons. It could take a while to be up on the store though. Didn't the Battlestar premiere take like 3 to 4 days to get up on iTunes?

I just went back to iTunes and purchased the Season pass for $44.99. The first and secon episodes are currently downloading.

It is Monday, Jan. 15, 10:49 P.M. EST.

Ditto.
It's gonna come in handy as I think I'll be working late everyday for the next 3 weeks. This will probably be the last time I post like this (live) for a month or so.

Since I'm working so hard I think I'll treat myself to a few more season passes on shows I'll be missing and a 1TB hard drive. My 250GB internal drive is nearly half full after only a month of using iTunes.

They're lucky it wasn't a big boy.

They're also lucky it's fiction.

Goodnight and goodluck.

24 today was insane, i couldn't beleive that they detonated a nuke in L.A. I had no idea that that would happen. It came out of nowhere.

Hmm, like others have said, I kinda saw it coming. The "changes everything" narration from the ads.

By the way, is Valencia really considered "in LA"? I don't mean LA city proper, but it looks like it's a good several miles away from the built up area. Then again I know very little about that area--hence my question.

that was kinda predictiable about curtis, sad to see though.

I was hoping he would take over the show when Jack's time was up. Shot in the throat, though? Not likely to be around any more. Then again, Tony Almeda survived nearly as bad in... what, the 3rd season?

Is that the one where he said he was going to need a hack saw and a duffle bag? That was indeed pretty hard core.

That's just what atszyman put in white text, which explains the gaps between the two visible paragraphs. Using white text to hide potential spoilers isn't perfect (e.g. the text is visible when quoted) but definitely appreciated. Even when it's something significant from older seasons (for example I try to forget everything I happen to come across about season 2 since I haven't seen it yet).

Why did he have to shoot curtis? Shoot him in the arm or something, Dang!

They do a good job of taking a issue and attacking it from every point of view, I'll give the writers that. Like if you had to either save the US from terrorism or shoot a good friend what would you do? I guess last season he almost tortured his fiance.. or wait did torutre her? He was on a torture rampage last season. Anyway, Jack has got 20 more episodes to keep 4 more nukes from blowing up.

So the question is, are the other four nukes even operational?

I mean, they had to spring that guy from US custody in order to make that nuke work, if they had 4 other working nukes why did they need that one, which makes me think the other 4 don't work.

Either that, or the guy fixed those 4 already (in the half hour he had) and the one he was working on was the last one.

What do you think?

"Valencia is a planned community located in Los Angeles County, California in the northwestern corner of the Santa Clarita Valley, adjacent to Interstate 5. In 1987, it was one of the four communities (along with Saugus, Newhall, and Canyon Country) that merged to create the city of Santa Clarita, California."

I got a speeding ticket heading down the hill there once, so long suburbanites and Magic Mountain.

Curtis is gone, I really hope it isn't for nothing and later in the season we find out that those two are really working with each other. He had to shoot him with lethal force in order to make it look more realistic, think about it, curtis is a trained killer if you shoot him in the leg or arm he still has the capacity to kill that other guy that he was holding.

thats true, although the writers think the audience has a short memory, (remember Jack should have a bad gash in his forehead, a stab wound in his shoulder and an another stab wound in his back, but his new gray shirt show no evidence of blood or bleeding) so they will find a way to manuver around this point. Unless the device they got from Ahmed was just something to program the bombs and not get blown up with them.

I didn't think Curtis would be around for very long. I could tell that from the first episode this season. Instead of Roger Cross (Curtis) being in the regular credits, he was "guest starring". I knew he wasn't gonna be around for very long, but I didn't think THAT would happen. I've never seen Curtis all uptight like that either, he's always been the calm and cool guy who's always done a hell of a job. Hell, Curtis was one of the very few people who didn't die last season, and now he's dead. :(

I have a feeling that Chloe's BF there is bad. How could Chloe ever get a boyfriend. hahahah.

Actually it's been established that he's her ex-husband too. And I think he's too much of a wise-ass to be a bad guy. I think he'll be one of the guys that obstructs the good guys through incompetence/bureaucracy/personal ambition/ego.

After Edgar died last season Morris came in for the last few episodes and it was mentioned that they were married.

He is under contract but they can write anything they like. It is like an open ended contract. As far as anyone knowing, the writers don't tell anyone until the week they shoot and they are not far enough in to know that yet.

Well if anyone does know with any kind of certainty, don't post it here. ... Please. :)

I doubt even the producers know it for sure. I don't want him to die, its too cliche. A main character dying at the end of the show, I don't want to see that done any more.

That being said, 24 isn't exactly known for doing the unexpected. Its a great show, don't get me wrong, I wet myself over a new episode just like everyone else, but it isn't exactly full of truly unexpected twists.

PS, Edgar ruled, I almost cried when he died. :(
