Muslims protest '24'

"The overwhelming impression you get is fear and hatred for Muslims," said Rabiah Ahmed, a spokeswoman for the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations. She said Thursday she was distressed by this season's premiere. "After watching that show, I was afraid to go to the grocery store because I wasn't sure the person next to me would be able to differentiate between fiction and reality."

I suppose this (the bolded comment) could possibly be true, but I don't think in general that people have a problem with thinking '24' is a reality show. If it is, I need a better cell phone that can show real-time satellite imagery...

i wouldn't be surprised if that is the case though... lots of people are dumb and any excuse to act out their racists instincts is enough.

as for the phone.... where've you been?

Yeah, it sounds like a justification for censoring just about everything. "You mean Arnie hasn't killed 1000 people with a machine gun?"

Quick Jack, Get in da choppa.:p

Some how I don't think the show would be as realistic if little old ladies from Queens are holding LA hostage with a nuke.

ok heres a problem I had when watching episode 4

when CTU sent 2 tac teams to the location, I knew the bomb was going off. How did I know? Not knowing anything about the geography of LA, I just knew that if there was going to be a miracle stop, a main character, probably Jack would be the one to stop it. Since they sent two nameless faceless tac teams ... hence the bomb was not going to be stopped. and this is the kind of thing that runs through my mind all the time.

I also liked when jack had to throw up because of what he had just done, shows us he's still human like when he cried at the end of season 2

When Edgar died I think that was maybe some of the best TV ever, Not often do I let TV get to me and that scene pulled me in like no other show ever has. The best shows grab your attention and you forget that you are watching TV but feel like you are in the scene.

maybe Edgar will come back as a ghost and appear to Chloe or Jack just like in ESB. "Jack...Jack... You will go to the Ventura Blvd system, there you will meet compusa, the computer expert that instructed me.."

but srsly, I'm in a real dilemma tonight(monday) cuz Heros is playing against 24. I think I'm going to record 24 and watch Heros. Since 24 is such a powerhouse this maybe a good way to gauge the viewers of Heros.

the iPhone doesnt have real time satelite images... just satelite images :(

I watched all 4 episodes last night and it was pretty intense. I'm glad CTU is back using macs... sadly they still use some PCs.

Wish I had your dilemma. My first year with HDTV and I won't make it home in time to watch for a few weeks. No DVR. iTunes is my DVR. So I'll be watching Battlestar
on Monday nights. Heroes and 24 on Tuesdays.

WAIT A SEC! BSG is on Mondays too?

Yep. BSG "Rapture" continues. At least it starts at 11pm otherwise I'd have to two tvs on.

Whats so big about Monday nights?

Early in the series, there was a pretty predictable pattern that the good guys used macs and the bad guys used PCs, but that eventually broke down somewhat.

I don't know if that's too reliable though. There have been times where someone else saved the day off-screen. For example, the times that there were impending multiple meltdowns or bioweapon attacks. In those cases, Jack directly saved the ones in LA, but others across the country were prevented off-camera.

So there are four more nukes out there. I think it's pretty likely that one will be in DC, since there are so many main characters there. Remember that in previous seasons, the president always seemed to be in (or near) Los Angeles so that he was also at risk of whatever Jack was trying to thwart there. Since the prez and his advisors are in DC this time, it stands to reason that one of the nukes will threaten them.

He usually saves the first one ... Its just a pattern I notice

Im curious to see the ratings tonight between 24 and Heros.

So the first big reveal of the season is Jacks brother.

Shh don't ruin the surprise.

Jack isn't the mole. But this does make this season interesting now, with Jacks seedy brother.

I guess you don't want to piss Jack off during family gatherings.:p

Heh heh, I love it. CTU is supposed to be so professional, yet people disobey orders like Morris, or lose their cool completely like Curtis, or even turn out to be traitors as in previous seasons. And now we find out that Jack's own brother is working with the enemy.

What's cool about this show is what the critics have always said about it: a good number of the plot twists are absolutely ridiculous, yet the show is so damn good that you just go along with it anyway.

So do you think President Logan from Season 5 knew they were related? From the looks of it, he did not. From what I remember, the Puppet Master always referred to JB as "Bauer" when talking to Prez Logan.

Might have to go back and watch the later episodes for continuity.
