I think she was better than Cosby. Nothing against bill cosby, but it was getting a little embarassing to watch. I think Chloe is may fave character on 24.

Sometimes in 24 there are some "dumb" moments and in tonights episode there was one. It was when Waleed pick-pocketed that detained terrorist and then kept the phone in his pocket. First of all that was near professional pick-pocketing and second he should have just thrown it on the ground or offer it back to the guy like he dropped it or something.

Otherwise the exchange between the two foes in the presidents cabinet was pretty good. They hit on very hot button issues and showed both side line of thinking. great writing.

Now that you say it, it would've made much more sense for Waleed (sp?) to act as if the guy dropped his phone and for him to innocently give it back. It would've at least saved him a trip to the hospital.

What this about Aaron Pierce not being in last season? He played a big role last season. We never established whether he was dead or not though.. Unless I forgot something. The last thing I remember was that he was missing and his phone was on the ground.

He's alive. The first lady found him tied up in the barn, and then mike novak got him off the grounds but he came back to help Jack get aboard Marine One.

Thanks swiftaw.
I also have a suggestion regarding spoilers, maybe in the "title" of our posts we could put Spolier: Episode x or just Episode x (as this thread is about discussion which contains spoilers anyway) - just so that anyone who hasn't seen the latest ep won't spoil it by skimming over something. :)

I don't believe that that is necessary. The conversation usually heats up for a couple days after the episode and then dies down by Sunday. It would be logical to assume that anything posted in the thread after Monday's episode on the east coast is going to contain spoilers and just avoid reading the thread until you have watched the episode. This has been a fairly standard rule in threads on any TV show here.

That doesn't really help when you're not in the US. ;)

Ah, I never watch the preview. That's for ruining it. ;)

I ruined nothing... if it was shown on broadcast TV and they were not going through any effort to hide him, it's fair game. Pretty sure it's even been mentioned in this thread...

Agreed. I think it's fair game to discuss somethin in the previews for next week's show. Especially something that has been on Wikipedia, IGN, tv.com and slew of others for months.

I also agree, it was on TV, it wasn't a set spy. I could have told you about jack's brother a few weeks ago ...

whoa, yo, man, I didn't really care. That's why I had the winky next to the angry face ;)

As long as this thread is about the season, and not about individual episodes, I think any attempt to control "spoilers" would be cumbersome.

While I'm at it... Darth Vader is... nevermind...

no, no, please. Who?

Not an impressive episode. And more failed attempts to add suspense.

Why take Jack and his dad in a truck to go kill him? Why not tell people in CTU about Yassir's restricted access so people aren't constantly asking why she's behind? And didn't the FBI agent say there were people inside to protect Walid? I didn't say anyone trying to help until his wife and the marines entered the gates.

Disappointing...

I was thinking he should have said he needed to try to call Fayed, to get more instructions or something. Those guys may not have been terrorists but when Walid name-dropped Fayed before they seemed to trust him on it.

That doesn't really help when you're not in the US. ;)

Nope. Exactly the problem I was having in the Doctor Who thread, before I started a US/SciFi-showing thread. And then had little to contribute to it...

Well it's been a general unwritten rule that any threads about a current TV show are fair game for spoilers once the show has run on broadcast TV for the first time anywhere. The Lost, Torchwood, Doctor Who threads have all been spoiler fodder and if you haven't yet seen the episode most recently run it's best to avoid the thread if you don't want spoilers until you have a chance to watch the show (however you might be doing it). There are times I don't get to watching a show until a week or so after it has aired, I just avoid the threads until I can get the show watched.

no, no, please. Who?

I realized that, and my response was meant in jest... mostly, hence the Darth Vader comment. Of course humor is sometimes lost in text...

Well the sword cuts both ways. We get a lot of shows first run in the US but when some of the British series start up we are left to avoid those threads, pursue questionable means of acquiring the shows, or have everything spoiled for us. But it is up to the individual how they want to handle it.

Occasionally the thread participants can agree to withhold spoilers for a few hours/days or keep them in white text but I doubt that's going to be possible with a show as popular as 24.

I hope I'm not coming across as too much of a **** in this discussion, but I was there when people started really getting angry about spoilers in the Lost thread that showed up before the show aired on the West Coast (US). Eventually a Mod (also a participant in the thread) had to calm it down and apply the "Once it's aired anywhere it's fair game" rule.

as for the show, did anyone catch who Tom's assistant was talking to regarding "future plans." It was a woman's name, I think, but can't remember if we've seen the character in question.

Also, as we peel away more layers of the onion, who will Graham be revealed to be working for? (this would be pure conjecture at this point)

I don't think Graham is working for anyone. I think he heads up a group of elite Defense contractor leaders that use their influence to try to get the US to enter into a massive war so that they can line their pockets.

Last year the biological weapons were supposed to end up in a terrorist camp in Asia to allow the US to start a war, this year there are generals calling for all out war on the Middle East and there were similar calls back in season 2 if I recall correctly. Graham is using his ability to obtain weapons easily to funnel to a terrorist organization to prompt the US to go to War... basically the big bad guy is the millitary/industrial complex....

This might actually be the last season if this is the case...

Could be. He certainly is powerful. Last season he essentially told the POTUS to kill himself, and Logan was about to comply.

Actually, I could see Logan coming back this season helping the good guys... you know, "I know who's behind this and I'll help you find him if you pardon me" kinda thing.

But there will be another season. So if Graham is killed or otherwise neutralized, they may want to reveal another player in the game for next year.

I guess I don't follow the news about 24 much so I was unaware of a 7th season. My guess would be that somehow Graham remains unscathed (through political connections) or escapes at the end of this season. Then next season something will come up that Graham engineers and will lead to the ultimate Bauer showdown.

As mentioned above, Kiefer has signed on for a couple more seasons after this one. Hard to say what that really means, but the consensus is that there will be a Day 7.

I think we have to be practical here. They can't get rid of Graem (as it was spelled in the opening) until they come up with a new Friend of Jack (FOJ) and/or family member to put in danger. Remember that even if Jack's brother dies, there's still his wife and (Jack's?) kid to imperil.

I think the character's name is Reed Pollock, played by Chad Lowe (yes - rob lowe's brother).

Graem Bauer certainly does seem to have some power if he can boss around a Prez, and have his father's own men turn on him.

Ok here are the new ratings,

NBC drama dips slightly in total viewers but remains winner in demo.

Fox's 24.
The ratings battle of Monday night rages on.

Thats interesting because I thought Heroes was a better program for that particular night. People may have be anxious to see what happened after the nuke hit on 24.
