Im curious to see the ratings tonight between 24 and Heros.
Especially since Jack's brother's wife is also Nathan's (from Heroes) wife as well... Interesting. I had to TiVo Heroes and I'll watch it later, since my wife watches 24 but not Heroes.

Yeah, if he wants a leg at Thanksgiving dinner, he gets a leg, period.
Of course, it may not be the turkey's leg, apparently...

I couldn't believe that guy was Jack's brother ! That'll be interesting, Jack finding out he was the puppet master for the terrorists (and a president) of several seasons' past.

The ratings war between "24" and "Heroes" is gonna be a dogfight, and it'll sure be interesting. Me and my family watch both shows but we decided we're gonna record Heroes and watch 24. :D

My decision is going to be week by week, both shows get TiVo'd but it all depends on when I get to the gym...

Last night I got there and Heroes was ramping into the episode while 24 was still on "Previously on 24..." so I got in 15 minutes of 24 before I moved to weights and watched the rest on TiVo when I got home. Next week could reverse the situation.

I did find myself wanting to pay attention to the Heroes TV more while working out but that may be due to the longer break/stronger withdrawal... that and anything with subtitles gets me wanting to read to see what's going on.

Fox's 24 took on NBC's new hit Heroes Monday night in the 9:00 p.m. hour and 24 came out ahead in the overnight ratings with a 9.9 rating and a 14 share. But Heroes was close behind with a 9.2/13, and the final figures could see a reversal in the standings. Moreover, Heroes appeared likely to edge out 24 among adults 18-49, the key demographic group so far as advertisers are concerned. In any event, the top-rated show at 9:00 Monday was neither Heroes nor 24 but CBS's Two and a Half Men, which posted a 10.2/14 in the first half of the hour. (It was followed at 9:30 by The New Adventures of Old Christine, which placed third with an 8.4/12.) The top-rated show of the night continued to be CBS's CSI:Miami, with a 12.5/20, well over twice the numbers for the returning Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip on NBC, which placed second with a 5.3/8.

Ok so here are the official ratings:18-49

Heroes scored a 6.5 rating/15 share in 18-49s, with 14.8 million average viewers, according to Nielsen, while 24 snagged a 5.4 in 18-49s, with 14.4 million viewers.

At 9 p.m., NBC soared with a 6.5 for Heroes. Fox scored a 5.4 for 24, and CBS took a combined 4.5 for Two and a Half Men and The New Adventures of Old Christine. ABC earned a 3.6 for Supernanny, and CW scored a combined 1.1 for Girlfriends and The Game.

Overall ratings:
CBS led in households (9.3/13) with "Two and a Half Men," 10.1/14, and "Old Christine," 8.4/12. FOX's "24" was second at 8.6/12, followed by NBC's "Heroes" at 8.5/12. NBC however, had the most viewers (and also the night's top adults 18-49 rating), with CBS second and FOX third. "Supernanny" delivered a 6.0/9 for ABC. The CW went with "Girlfriends" and "The Game."

For the most part it is a dead heat between 24 and Heroes.

The 18-49 demo is what the networks are after and NBC won the night.

on larry king live the week before the season started, he had some of the cast of 24 on and ask keifer about his real dad playing his dad on 24. his response was that Donald was working on something else and was not available for 24 :( kinda would of liked to see him on there.

this is the first season without mike novic, does anyone know if he will appear later in the season? Perhaps he's gonna be the one to stop the possible nuke in washington d.c.?

I think President Logan will make an appearance so you should see Mike.

Aaron is in the next episode, and he was in Mondays episode.

According to IMDB Mike Novic is not in season 6, neither is President or Martha Logan. Of course things could change.

IMDB is a pretty horrible source of information for stuff like this. They both could still make an appearance but logan and his wife are rumored in other sources.

What scene was Pierce in? When the White House staff went underground in the bunker?

I don't remember him having any lines or being on camera. It would make sense that he's a part of Palmer's staff, considering how much he helped the President last season.

I didn't think we had seen Jack's Dad yet? Did I miss it?

We saw: 1) the dude at the corporation who took Jack's call. 2) The guy who watched that call go down on the monitoring system. 3) Jack's brother.

We also saw the guy whose going to find someone to get the nukes operational, but that's not Jack's dad either.

So it could be Donald Sutherland, right?

(Also, did anyone catch who Fayed was referring to, when he told a subordinate to let *****inaudible name***** know that the plan was going to continue as planned. I guess it was another puppetmaster—or was it Graham!)

I didn't see Pierce at all, and I wouldn't take IMDB's word for it that he was there. For awhile they had Sean Bean listed as Sylar in Heroes and that was completely wrong, and of course they had Sylar showing up several episodes before it actually happened.

It's been well established, through reports and next week's preview that Jack's dad is played by James Cromwell.

How long before the parody's show up on youtube about Kumar growing up and becoming a terrorist. "See it was all that pot and white castle burgers" :D

I'm new to the whole 24 thing. I watched it a few times when it first came out, but could never get into it.

I watched the season opener and my wife is hooked. Now I have to go out and rent the last couple of years and catch up... Damn, I hate it when that happens.

Heroes is now being DVR'd and I have to find another way to tape 2 1/2 men. Another favorite.

Ah, I never watch the preview. That's for ruining it. ;)

I ruined nothing... if it was shown on broadcast TV and they were not going through any effort to hide him, it's fair game. Pretty sure it's even been mentioned in this thread...

When they flat out show his face in the preview, and it's shown up in numerous news stories, it's obvious that they were not trying to keep it a secret. They could have just as easily had the line "He's my son" come from off camera in the preview to keep suspense...

While I'm at it... Darth Vader is... nevermind...

Wow, the Heroes premier won over 24? I'm impressed.

I did watch Heroes first while 24 was being recorded. Then I looked at 24 and skipped all the commercials.

So what started off as a slow episode picked up the last 5 minutes. Jack's brother really isn't a nice guy is he.
