Season 8 confirmed, copy that. :)

Kiefer Sutherland will be back to play Jack Bauer for an eighth season of the hit counterterrorism drama "24," but the show's longevity will depend on its writers, the actor said Tuesday.

The 42-year-old said "24," currently in its seventh season, will start shooting its eighth in May.

best 24 episode in some time, although i thought it kinda started out a bit slow.

show likely to take a slight hit in ratings next week due to basketball though.

This season is getting awesome! Wonder what's gonna happen to Jack next? Maybe they're finally killing him off? I'm guessing Kim Bauer is coming in to this season in the last 5 episodes to maybe find a cure for Jack? Who knows...

But yeah, tonight's plot definitely stirred things up. Tony got played. :p Finally, going back to the basics of the 24 un-expected. I'm glad they aren't going too much into drama plot-twists.

i hope not. she needs to stay away from 24. i would rather have chole give jack the cure, not kim. chole is the only one jack has left that still likes him.

unforunately kim IS COMING BACK!

go check imdb and look at the episode casts for the last 4 or 6 episodes- according to those lists (which are in general accurate) she is going to appear in the last few episodes.

It really does seem like they're gearing either Tony or Agent Walker to take over for Keifer in the future.

If he is indeed infected and only has a day or two to live, I see next season dealing with him dying/saving the world at the same time. If that's the case, we'd get the first back-to-back seasons of 24. That'd be neat.

Although I think the show won't last without Jack Bauer.

You know, they should have killed Jack off a while ago, like around season 3. Chase Edmunds, I thought, was a great candidate to take over Jack's place. It kinda doesn't make sense that Jack gets so lucky every season, and remember, this is Jack's 7th lucky season. :p

Will he survive this ordeal? We'll see. While I agree that it does seem kind of pointless to bring Kim Bauer back, it is good to see that Jack's daughter is still alive. :D

As for Renee Walker, I would have liked to see her in more of the action, since we kind of got in the gist of the female Jack Bauer. She's been idle in the past few episodes... :(

When we were watching yesterday, my friends and I were discussing how 24 could continue in the fashion of James Bond, where some new actor comes in and plays Bauer every few seasons. I think that would be pretty sweet as long as they keep the decent plots flowing.

...and as long as they don't find the current generation's Roger Moore...lol

The production value of this season seems to be rising.

At the start there so many filming errors, VERY obvious and blatent product placement (well, as long as it keeps it on the air) and the special effects seemed to be cut down to reduce costs I think, like the rocket launcher being fired at the car Motobo's double was in cuts to a satelite image on impact, and the mid air collision seen from FAR away.

But the most recent episodes are much better, haven't seen yesterdays episode yet, likely the spoilers in this thread so far aren't too revealing

or a spin off, or a non-parralel syndication. I like what they did with Redemption, maybe will see more of that if the show does finish

He's definitely going to get lucky again. He signed on for an 8th season.

Jack will be back for at least one more season. I still think Jack will take his life at some point. The guilt will get to him and if he is sick I expect Jack to go out with a bang. He will throw himself into a bomb or something to save the city.

^^^I hope not. I could barely tolerate sitting down for any of the Lord of the Rings films, and those were only 3 hours. There better be intermissions.

"You know, I like history too, and maybe when this is all over you and I can stop by the souvenir shop together but right now I just... I JUST WANNA FIND SOME ROCKETS!!?! </overly loud Nic Cage voice>

Besides, he's a pirate. How do you even replace a guy like that? He's bad-ass all the time.

^ The Rock :D

"Your best? Losers always whine about doing their best. Winners go home and f**k the prom queen."

Solid episode... can't believe how far along we are already. Time flies when you're <insert what Jack Bauer would be doing>

Who thought the show would survive without CTU.

I did. lol. I never liked the CTU scenes. They were always so awkward too watch, bad script and worse acting. Now we have FBI which is exactly the same just better lit. but even the basement set-up is the same

I miss the CTU offices and the lethal holding rooms with interrogators holding torture briefcases :D .

FBI is just not the same.
