Imac Yellow issue

on my second imac now!.. 2nd in 2 weeks.!! still has a slight tint>@@@!!@@ !! 1going to call them right away 2moro!..

..why should Apple be concerned about some liitle flaw like a yellow tint if most of their customers are willing to ignore the little yellow tint and buy anyway

They won't care, and not caring tells me that an anti-trust breakup of Apple should be seriously considered.

hey, are u sure it is perfect.. coz im now sending back my 2nd imac in 2 weeks!,,.. super annoying,,, !! my second one was not as bad as the first one, this was has a very very slight issue of yellow tint, but noticeable enough for me as i work with Photoshop a lot.

Hmm. Those pics were compressed too much. They make my screen look blotchy. The one thing that is very noticeable is a horizontal band of yellowing about an inch from the bottom.

Ok. Here are some large versions same sequence. You can see the band at the bottom of the screen. That is not a reflection (though there are a couple elsewhere. Bummer.

Well, they are hosted here, and downsampling. If people need cleaner files I'll have to do it from a desktop or with flickr links.

hey, yh u have the same problem as me.. i called up about my 2nd default screen in 2 weeks.. they sending me a new one next week, my 3rd one now!.. and as a gesture of good will, they giving me £70 back.. i hope the 3rd is perfect!!!

Honestly, I'm thinking of just getting a refund and staying with my pc until these issues get resolved. I don't have time to backup, secure erase, and play the return game multiple times. I love os x and Apples design and ideas, but their quality control is tanking lately it seems.

Sorry this any better? 100% brightness

I really can't notice anything when i have the blinds open. Probably best to test at night.

Although I can notice the bottom half on these photos with slight yellow. Or am I seeing things?

Thanks for that Jgo, I think im going to stick with this one and monitor it. judging from other pics I have seen on here I'm not sure if I'm going to get any better. I mean what classifies as perfect... I am yet to see a post that is a good example of perfect

Yes, stick with it, i don't think there's any 'perfect' ones. The closest Ive seen to perfect so far in a pic is jgonzo's. See here:

Went down to Frys and an Apple store yesterday and looked at the iMacs on display, a fair number of them had yellowish screens. Guess I won't be buying an iMac after all.

This has been going on since the introduction of the 27 inch.. What exactly is so hard in fixing this?

These are LG screens. I've seen their 30 inch monitors and they don't show any signs of yellowing..

This just needs a lot more attention in the media to finally receive the proper response from apple we deserve.

My computer arrived yesterday. The screen seems to have a very slight yellow(?) cast if I'm perpendicular to it, tho it's not bothering me. This photo was taken dead-on.

Mine appears to be red (warmer) on the left side. Very noticeable, its like they are two different screens stuck together... But no yellow tint from what i can see...what should i do? I have also no noticed a faint shadow in the middle of the screen, very faint, but there none the less.

Looks like this might be a refund job, £2k for this... Imagine if i had ordered with SSD and waited 4-6 weeks for this let down.

So now i've tried to buy an ipad 2 and now an iMac and both had major screen issues... not impressed as a first time Apple customer...

Would calibration work??? or is it defective for sure...

Well, I don't know why but now at the mirror i see myself more green than yesterday Maybe the iMac is contagious... or only "placebo effect" (I hope to see the green traffic light always green, eheh)
