Mine arrived early yesterday morning... No scratches, marks, or dead pixels. The screen looks great! My first moves were to turn it on and set it up, and then install 32gigs of ram. I've been playing with it for two days and it's getting easier and easier to use now that I'm getting used to all the trackpad/mouse gestures. Coming from Windows, I am amazed by how simple the install/uninstall process is for applications! I've also installed Parallels/Windows 8 and it works great!

I hope that all you guys who are still waiting get it soon... It's definitely worth the wait!

What application are you using in the screenshot?

I just got off the phone with a very nice Apple rep who stated that orders are processed over the weekend. Also, for 27" iMac BTO orders in the Dec 31 - Jan 7 range, the rep also stated that he expects our orders to go into the preparing to ship stage anytime between today and at the latest Dec 24, and then it will either ship out on Mon, Dec 24, Wed, Dec 26, or Thurs, Dec 27 at the latest.

Thats helpful, and I hope its true.

My mac is currently traveling between Louisville and Washington-Dulles. It shipped on 12/13 and will finally get here on 12/19. UPS sucks. It was in China for days before heading to AK and then Louisville for 2 days on a customs hold. The hold was removed just in time to miss the flight out that would have enabled delivery today. Meanwhile FedEx is delivering in 2 days and I haven't seen one customs hold on a FedEx order.

A

I'm in NoVa - mine sat in Louisville from Friday to Monday (UPS) and the next track location was Baltimore. So don't just check for flights to Dulles, check BWI too. Of course watching the flights didn't get it to me any faster, but I couldn't help myself.

I think it will be FedEx, but I don't know for sure. They upgraded me to the expedited delivery.

If it says delivers by 2-3 day shipping then it should be FedEx. I called in and asked Apple to upgrade my order to that before my status finally changed to "preparing for shipment" and I'm sure glad I did. Once it actually shipped I had it in less than 48 hours. More like 36 hours, actually. I was amazed. I really hope you get yours soon. It's a very sweet machine. :D

I was upgraded as well... I got stuck with UPS. Shipped on the 13th and is delivering tomorrow. But I feel like it could have been here Monday if they didn't screw around in Shanghai.

You have a good chance of getting it by Friday if it gets out of Shanghai quickly.

november 30th order suddenly changed to january delivery

I placed an order with Apple for customized 27" iMac and was given a Dec 19th-24th delivery date. I will be away from the 21st for Christmas holidays and called to try to make sure delivery would be before I left, and was told Apple would look into this. I also asked if it was possible to change my magic mouse order to a trackpad. The customer service agent said that's fine. Later, I went to check on my order status and found out that the original order had been cancelled by the service agent and my delivery time changed to January! I called back to try to fix this, and the agent told me they would call me back within 24 hours with an answer. I got a call after 24 hours saying they still hadn't decided. After another 24 hours I got a call with the reply that they could not change the January shipping date and they could not say when in January it would be delivered. I'm wondering if this is normal practice, or whether there is any advice on how I can get Apple to admit they made a mistake and get me my computer faster or at least get some gesture from them to show they made a mistake!

Thanks!

A couple of weeks ago I called to make a small change in my order but when I asked if it would change my delivery date the answer was YES.

Did you ask if changing your order would change your delivery date?

No, I did not ask, and was not told. I assumed it would be obvious that I would not want to change the date since we'd just gotten done talking about delivering it on time....Yes, I wish I had asked now.

Changing anything on your order will change your delivery date, as you unfortunately learned the hard way.

I can't believe they didn't tell you - they should always tell you if a change will affect your delivery time frame. When I called to change something, they didn't even give me a chance to ask - they told me that I'd end up at the back of the line if I changed my order (and then they gave me the keyboard that I wanted to switch to for free). Anyway, yeah, I don't think that was very nice that they didn't bother to tell you it would affect your ship date. :(

They said they noted they didn't tell me, but I guess they don't have any flexibility once an order has been listed as cancelled and reordered? One detail I didn't mention is that I'm in Singapore. I wonder if customer service is worse here..

received it today. arrived 1 week earlier than the estimated date.

order on 30/11 8pm (GMT +8)
original delivery window: 26/12 - 1/1
BTO 3.2 i5, 1TB Fusion

hope all the 30/11 get their machine soon.

I know a lot if us complain about our package not getting here when we want them to, but when you really think about all that has gone into building these machines and the journey they take to get here, it is really amazing! Can't wait to play on my beautiful new imac tomorrow!:apple: Hope everyone has a great night and a wonderful Christmas!::) Its been a pleasure waiting it out with all you good people!:D Well in till next time everyone god bless.

Got mine ... But damn. Migration

BTO
Fusion 3 TB
But started migration assistant from my 06' iMac
450 + gb 4 hours later still a couple to go.... Can't play with it but it does look nice.

It Arrived on Monday and am loving it !!

The screen is huge - such a pleasure to up-size and have ample room for all the panels in CS6.

No hardware issues. This baby runs quietly and cool. On the s/w side, I cannot get Mail to display search results correctly (will not show emails that I know exist). Have tried all the Spotlight and Terminal tricks but it still won't behave. More research needed.

Hang in there lads and lasses, yours is coming soon.

I ordered a BTO Nov 30th - 6pm cst...and am in the Dec 31-Jan 7 range and was switched to "prepared for shipment" last night about 6pm......I'm just curious as to how long people are staying in "prepared for shipment" stage before it goes to "shipped"? Anyone heard how long the 'prepared for shpmnt' stage usually lasts?

It depends your geographical location. Typically when it states preparing of shipment, you would receive it within 2 days, for where I am living, which is Singapore.

I ordered the 27" top model with the works.

3.4Ghz i7, 680mx, 1Tb Fusion, Apple Care, opted for the Magic Trackpad and Wired KB. Scored 8Gb of free RAM to give me 16Gb (2x 8Gb to keep 2 slots empty)

Ordered it Dec 1st and originally told 3-4 weeks but hoping to get it this week :D

UPS handles customs at their KY location. I know it seems strange, but it goes through Alaska without going through customs.

Okay friends I will miss you. My IMac will be delivered today, ordered November 30th, around 12:00 noon Eastern. After 24 hours layover in Narita (Tokyo) Japan, 14 hours in Anchorage, Alaska layovers and a nearly 24 hours layover in Louisville, KY, my Mac is in the UPS truck for delivery as promised 12/19/12. Originally it was from 12/24 tip 12/31. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting, things are moving, may you be lucky enough to get FEDEX instead of layover prone UPS. Happy Holidays.

When you made the change(s) to your order did the order number change? I would compare the numbers to see if that is the case.
