Ok.... I ordered on nov 30, 6pm cst. Monday night this week the status changed to 'prepared for shpmnt". It changed to "shipped" status over night ;(was about 36 hours in prepared for shpmnt status"). It shipped at Ciona local time 2am on the 19th...& It says its due to be delivered by tomorrow at noon my local time We'll see...... Either way I'm stoked!!!

Trying to decide when my imac delivers *should I install the 32gb memory before I start the computer for the first time? Or add it later after migration, etc.?
I saw this on another thread..... Most people saying to boot up first & be sure all works ok then add ram after that.

Preparing for shipping for over 50 hours

My order has been on "Preparing for shipping" for over 50 hours.

I don't know what to make of it. I thought it lasted around 24 hours before switching to "Shipped"...

I installed the 32gb before starting it up the first time. It was extremely easy and took under five minutes to install. Others prefer to startup first. Easy to revert back if there is a problem.
Before they announced the new iMacs they were dissed up and down on MacRumors threads about their lack of commitment to desktops. They answered by announcing the new product but being clear that they would be in limited supply once they became available. Seems Apple is damned either way. Pick your poison.
oh no ! I'm in the 15th hour of "preparing" now... Hope we both switch to shipped soon.

are they waiting till the plane is totally packed with iMacs before they take off? Just leave now !!
I've been looking at some other folks tracking info and it seems some have been in route for hours before we actually get the lucky 'shipped' email - so hopefully that is the case for some of us.

I am seriously going to choke a bitch soon. So, when I realized my iMac was going to be shipped to me a week early (when the box arrived in Louisville), I contacted UPS to change the delivery address to my office. They said they cannot change it, you have to contact Apple.
On Monday I contact Apple to change the delivery address. They make a change, and I get an automated email notification that the delivery address has been updated on my order and that the change was sent to UPS.
I wake up Tuesday morning and the iMac is "Out for Delivery" on a UPS truck, but the tracking indicates it still has my home address. Of course, I miss the first attempt.
Today, I contact UPS again to have them change the address. Nope. They're not going to change it. They said to contact Apple. So, I contact Apple. Nope, they say to speak with UPS. Now it is just a whole bunch of pointing fingers. Well, my iMac is "Out for Delivery" again... still to my home address.
I contact UPS again. They offer me a way to change my address: UPS My Choice. So, I look into that. Really UPS, you want me to pay $5.00 to reroute my package? FedEx Express and Ground do that for free. They even have locations nearby to hold it at. Oh, I guess I could pay the yearly $40 fee to be a subscribed member, just to change an address.

So pissed right now. I am probably going to need to leave the office just to get it. If I miss the delivery attempts, the nearest UPS "hold" location is 30 miles away from me. FML.

My delivery went from "delivery time thur befor noon" to "Exception" because if this below, WTF??
