27" Delivery time thread.

It's just really discouraging to see other people getting theirs when mine is still processing. I'm just not sure how much there is to be gained if I call, especially if, as others have said, there isn't anything the CSRs can do. If it is still processing on Monday, however, I will definitely call. But hopefully it won't be necessary.

oh yea, i know they don't know anything/cant do much except upgrade your shipping. I'm just going to 'vent' to them and hope to get something out of it compensation wise. I am frustrated that others are shipping prior to mine, and ill tell apple that politely of course. So far i was able to score a wireless keyboard because i wanted to change it on my order, but i hope this time will get me a disc drive or a discount (rare) like some other posters.

it just boggles my mind how waking up in the middle of the night to order first, yet i coulda slept in and ordred in the afternoon and have it ship before mine. this stinks :/ and now i sound like a spoiled brat haha

For what it's worth, the topmost scan at 10pm wasn't on my tracking page until about 8am PST this morning. 10pm in China is 6am PST. So there's an outside change that there's some sort of lag between the scan and when it shows up on the tracking page. And it's therefore very slightly possible our iMacs got on a plane this morning.

Either way, mine is scheduled for delivery on Monday by 10:30am. If it comes early tomorrow, that's just gravy.

For those who're still stuck in Processing, hang in there. I ordered an i5/1tbfusion/680mx at 12:40am PST on 11/30. My credit card showed a pending charge on Tuesday morning. My order went into "Preparing for Shipment" around noon on Wednesday. And I got my shipping notice at 4:30am this morning, Thursday (all times Pacific). Seems like Apple is doing everything they can to get the first orders out before the promised delivery window. But it is strange that they went all out of order.

I'd hope that Apple revamps its policy and procedure on this. The whole ordeal is horrendously complicated with all of the logistics involved. However, it's just common sense that orders should be handled in a FIFO manner.
 
3.4GHz Quad-i7, 3TB fusions, GTX 680MX, mouse, Num Key board and yes I was one that maxed out ram at 32GB, even though it was super expensive(just because I wasn't sure where to order it from in Canada and I didn't want to install it myself.

Caution, GREED ALERT!

So you are going to call and complain that your shipment is still earlier than the original quoted window, but some other people got their's first, and expect them to give you more free gifts. Sad. I too stayed up half the night, and finally shipped this morning, but I guess I'm not as greedy as you are. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I sound like a spoiled brat too :) Really the main reason I don't want to call is because I hate to talk on the phone more than just about anything. I avoid it like the plague. Life before email was very hard for me. :eek:

Free stuff aside, I just want to point out that technically his shipment is not earlier than the original quoted window, because it is still in processing. He has know way of knowing if it will or won't be earlier than the quoted window. Just because some people got theirs early doesn't mean everyone will. I don't see any need to ask for free stuff, but still, there isn't anything wrong with feeling discouraged because your order is languishing while others are shipping, regardless of the original delivery window.

sounds about like me... don't know how I'd be functional member of society if not for the internet... teen years would have been very different had there been social media and forums back then :)

Congrats! I awoke in the night (4am) to check mine too. Well, one of my 2 yr old twin boys woke up and started crying, which woke me up. Checked the status which was still prepping for shipment at the time and then couldn't go back to sleep for a long while. Then had dreams about the order status page, :p
