It requires a leap of supposition, followed by a tracking data point of confirmation.
Basically, you take the "In Transit" date/time of Shanghai, marry it with your carrier info, put it on the next flight, and shazam, Bob's your uncle.
Yup...right here, ordered 5 am EST on the 30th....and still waiting...and waiting...and waiting...and.....waiting..................and ...........waiting....
Then had dreams about the order status page,
I actually had a dream about my order status page. When I woke up, I was so sure that it would have changed to preparing to ship.
same here... they haven't found an escape route out of that storage room... i guess these new computers aren't all that advanced afterall

If you are in transit since 9:56AM, my guess is that you are on FDX90 which leaves at 10:22. If you see an update tonight around 10:45 in Tennessee, there's a good chance you're getting it Friday morning before 10:30.
so mine just change to "Preparing for Shipment"!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE SUPPORT!!!! SERIOUSLY. Im happy but at the same time im still a little upset because some people order after me and they already got theirs.. its just not fair and just not a good way of doing things... oh well Thanks again i still cant believe it.

thank you guys once again !!! i feel like yelling at the supervisor for a little bit got things rolling a bit she just gave me a call back and confirmed the whole preparing for shipping thing. So to the people who are still processing id recommend waiting till tonight or tomorrow morning if your order still processing ask to speak to a supervisor. its not fair we got our orders in early and its still processing. Best of luck everyone!! Ill keep you updated!
Agreed. A bit of a joke, really. I'd love Apple to be taken to task about this, but it's probably hard to keep track of all the different configurations. This isn't like iPhone orders, which I'd bet are easier to organize.
Still, that doesn't excuse Apple from the strange way they've done things this time...
But, our iMacs will be with us soon, and let's face it - the world will be a better place when that happens.
My order finally changed to Preparing too. I think some time around 3:46pm EST today.
Just curious, did I win the contest of earliest order but last to fulfill? Is there anyone out there with an order date of 11/29 11:57pm PST or earlier who still is stuck at Processing?
Hopefully this means all the other early orders stuck at Processing will ship soon. Given that my delivery data was Dec 20, it was getting close anyway.

Thank God, Edry. Mine shipped yesterday but I've been checking the forum at this point, mostly to see your status. This was a terrible injustice.
