I am talking about a system-wide output for EVERYTHING -- that does not exist, it would be in General Settings...

There was something I saw stating that porting the iPhone Apps more than video was an undocumented feature on 2.1. Some game developer even got their game to work on the TV.

So I thought for sure it would be on 3.0.

edit:
here it is http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/2008/11/iphone-2-2-sdk-offers-undocumented-tv-out-features.ars

that's from 2.2 sdk I am surprised it hasn't arrived yet

My network name (AT&T) disappeared next to signal strength after the upgrade - similar to the pictures found of the iPhone 3GS found on the Apple website. Appears as "Not Available" in the About section of the phone.

Even though its relatively minor, it's annoying. Anybody else having this problem?

Where in Canada are these speed tests being done?
rogers 3G seems extremely faster after update. maybe 7.2 MBPS bump?

What is the carrier file number for rogers? Rogers X.X?
Thanks
Carrier file for Rogers here in Canada was updated, but everything works well MMS and tethering, no problems. I wonder if 3g speed increased, max I've ever had here was 400.6 KB.

Ok so I'm going down vine in Los Angeles. Going towards Hollywood. And I hv had m-cell all the through. This leads me to believe it's more than just people still beta testing the service. At my house mcell goes in and out from time to time. But now it's on and not going away. Does anyone else have more info on it.

Ps. It's not a problem I just would like to know what it all really means. And sorry for typing errors again I'm on the device as I type.

did anyone else notice the triple click option for zoom, b/w, or voiceover as well as the calendar invite option?

Anyone have SMS app crashing, without even opening?... Grrrrrrrr!!! Rebooted and it STILL won't launch!!

This was added in 3.1 b1. There is almost nothing new in b2, apart from a few API diffs with the Image Picker, and the video editing.

He was referencing that they changed the text on the buttons from beta 1 so that they make much more sense.

From his site: "Non-destructive video button names changed to Trim Original and Save as New Clip, this should help clear up the confusion caused by the original names Save and Save a Copy"

Updated to the 3.1 b2, never jailbroken or messed with that sketchy AT&T 5.0 carrier file.
I tested this after I installed 3.1b2 and can say without any hacks it finally works.

Just to make sure I am adding my brothers iPhone and he is in San Fransisco so Ill update when he is done, here are some screen shots

nice picts

Hopefully GPS and WiFi will be repaired. Both were killed by the 3.0 update on my 3G. Others on the Apple boards have experienced one or both issues, and restoring doesn't help. (GPS is usually very slow and miles off-target. WiFi works for a while after the 3.0 update, and then reception dies to nothing after several days.) Of course, not everyone has these issues--so hopefully Apple isn't overlooking them.

If you have GPS or WiFi issues--or anything else for that matter--do what I did, and let Apple know :)

I had not read about this, I was close to taking my iPhone back because the GPS was innacurate. When using Navigon its very accurate but when using maps it's awful.

"Voice Control over Bluetooth"

Hang on - they put Voice Control into 3.0, but the ONLY REASON you would want it is for hands-free operation, and it doesn't work with a headset or car installation?

Good job they fixed that quick - that's idiotic.

Same here on O2 in the UK. Can still call/send texts etc, just to carrier name??!

Yep - I can get into Messages but when sending it crashes. I can only see messages from my wife too as when I click the back button it crashes.

Email has crashed a couple of times already too - I've only used it a couple of times. I'm wishing I hadn't upgraded!!!

Anyone been able to downgrade?

I downgraded from 3.1b1 back to 3.0 - because I stopped receiving MMSes and I missed SBSettings. It *is* possible, you just need to know what you're doing/google how to to get the phone out of beign stuck in recovery mode.

The modem baseband stays upgraded - but since I don't care about a software unlock its no problem.

Any indication it has fixed the battery drain problem?

Yeah, something with power management would be great. I understand that it's 3G and that it's a power hog, but you should be able to comfortably go through a day making a couple of calls, surfing for 15min and playing a game or two for 30 min or so...

I would love to know if anyone who was experiencing the slow iphone with 3.0 notices any difference with 3.1. My phone is really much slower since I upgraded to 3.0. The 3g that is, no idea how the 3GS is.

Well, considering all those wonderful features Apple left out of 3G, it's not surprising to me updates to the features for the 3GS might bog the 3G down.

*cough* Voice Control *cough*
