Films should be watched alone. Other People talking, eating, eating while talking, clapping at superhero’s and generally being annoying are the reason I go to the cinema alone most of the time on Tuesday aftenoon.

I'm a social person and an extrovert. Movies alone are so boring that I would rather watch paint dry.

I don't like or watch superhero movies.

3d movies sucked the first time (60s), they sucked the second time (2000s). They will suck with the Vision Pro.

Seriously, though, I never watch movies alone....this sounds depressingly solitary.
I watched Avatar 4 times in the cinema in 3D. It was spectacular each time. I understand that all 3D content is not necessarily as good…but, on Vision Pro things might look much better than with cinema-supplied 3D glasses?

This would be a great way to watch the 2013 BBC Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special "The Day of the Doctor" in real actual 3D again, the way it was shot and shown in theatres worldwide back then! Max, Disney+, BBC, get on it! 🤓 ❤️❤️➕🔶
Yes, please!!!

3D is not going to be a thing.

It was a flash in the pan fad in the 1950s.

It was a flash in the pan fad in the 1980s with IMAX.

It was a flash in the pan fad in the mid 2000s with Avatar and consumer 3D displays.

It will be a flash in the pan in the mid 2020s with the Apple Vision Pro.

3D is dumb.
…said the person with two eyeballs and stereoscopic vision 😂😂😂

So STOP a movie to swap batteries, so you can watch a movie ALONE all because it’s in 3D? At least with a 3D TV you can watch it with OTHERS, and you know, go to the bathroom, get food and drinks and interact with others…but hey, $3500 to watch 3D movies to constantly be plugged into a wall is GREAT! Funny how the rest of technology is going WIRELESS! Imagine if the only way to watch television was that your remote was plugged into the wall or had to have the batteries changed every couple of hours, would your argument be the same?
TV remotes were originally wired - that’s probably why television never caught on…

Eh, I would have agreed with you before Avatar. That was the first movie that stopped using 3D as a gimmick and used it to enhance the immersion and damn did it ever. The movie itself was okay but the immersion was incredible.

Do I think 3D strapped to your face is the future? Hell no, but it is a nice distraction.

So if you have zero friends and family to watch with, and an extra $4k lying around, and LOVE solitude, this is for you.

Or you actually are valued and have a well paying job that flies you around the world.. the headset costs less than one of my flights. Not all of us live in mommy’s basement:)

Which is why everyone you know needs to get Vision Pros, so you can watch movies together!

/sarcasm

Sorry, but 3D movies aren't the killer app for a $3500 device.

Man, it'd be amazing if this resulted in 3D TV support on Apple TV for all 12 of us who still have 3D displays.
Us 12 with 3D TVs will still probably outnumber those with Vision Pro in its first couple of years though.

Wow, what a veritable smorgasbord of top-tier, auteur-level choices to be presented in not-at-all silly THREE-DEE! Those members of the horsed class who will line up next year to receive their $3500 ski goggles will appreciate this level of thought-provoking entertainment.

Clearly, Apple's world-changing vision for the future of AR/VR is here, friends. Magical and Amazing®!

OK now I’m picturing people actually riding away from the Apple Store on horseback wearing these, and of course their Hermés watch bands perfectly matched to their jockey’s uniforms.

More likely to be used by Silicon Valley bachelors to escape the bleak reality of their tiny apartments.

I'm alone when I watch movies on my TV. Whenever I watch movies in VR, I'm watching them with friends ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have kept my 12-year old plasma with me across 4 different countries (2 with incompatible power supplies) just so I can keep my 3D movie collection.

Don't think 3D movies will be the Vision Pro killer content.
3D travel, tour and historical simulators on the other hand might be huge if done in an engaging manner.

I don’t know what you all were watching, but post-2000 IMAX 3D in the theater was awesome, and this is the first device that could come close to reproducing that experience at home. Can’t wait.
Blade Runner 2049 in IMAX 3D was perhaps the best visual movie experience I've had.

If they're already seeding 3D now, at approx 6 months out from launch, you can bet your last $3500 that Apple (in their content-obsessed TV+ guise) are going to elbow this feature right to the front of the feature list of the AVP by the time we get there.
