although why doesn't this one have any writing on the back?
IMG_4460vi-vi.jpg

I just noticed something that I wanna throw in here... It may not be relevant but could describe the time and place this photo was taken.

The MacBook Pro is not of the current generation. It has the :apple: key! :D

May be this photo was taken a while back huh? At least a few month? Or the photographer simply stuck with his previous MacBook Pro? Then he/she doesn't seem like the kind of people who always buys the latest and greatest. Then how did he/she end up with a prototype/fake phone? Apple employee? I don't think they are allowed to leak information just like this. Intended leak may be? ;)

Didn't this guy post on Macrumors (he jokingly called it a "3G prototype)? He just put a new back on his current iPhone. That's not a new 3G one.

edit:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/331524/
This guy (or maybe even a different guy who has another phone with the same customization), and someone just (crappily) photoshopped the two pieces to look like one.

Thank you.

MAN most of these people are gullible.

"Well, it is the same shape as an iPhone AND it says 'iPhone' on the back, so it probably is real. I don't know why some of you guys won't believe it."

The fat iPod nano leak was an incredibly low-res blurry photo of an advertisement for them on a computer. It was posted on a legitimate rumor source. Within hours, Apple sent out a cease and desist on them.

So PLEASE, quit using that leak to claim that this somehow might be real. This is from some random blog.
IT'S FAKE! APPLE PRODUCTS ARE ALUMINUM, NOT PLASTIC!

Pro hardware is AL, consumer apps are plastic. It's all a matter of what you want to do and within what constrants your going to do it in. AL case would make the cell signals a little hard to pass through.

The other photo is a chop, where the legal mumbo would be is a blur effect. Compare the texture to the top, it's obvious. The original pic, little tough to swallow as a fake... Everything just lines up correctly, reflection, seamless, distortion of light, etc... Little tough to make a fake that good without spending hours even days working on and even then your bound to mess up.

The original kinda, KINDA, reminds me of a really POS phone I had back in the 90's. It was a wanna-be flip phone with a contoured back that while had really nice fit in your hand was cheasy. I don't remember the name or model but the back of it was the same basic shape.

EDIT: Last, we don't even know if that's plastic. It could be aluminum with a hardcoat gloss finish. It's nothing new in metal fabrication. You can powder coat AL, then use some 2000grit polish compound and have the same finish.

I am late to this party, so please pardon me if I state something already mentioned in the previous 350 posts, but...

look at the picture above. It is clearly photoshopped, at least to some degree. There is a discernible line and graphic difference for the bottom portion where the current antenna plastic is. In other words - the top 4/5 of the back is very high quality, while the bottom 1/5 (where the current antenna exterior is) is not of the same quality.

Cheers.

god...I hope not, that would be a MAJOR fingerprint magnet! I like the metal touch.

Again, LOOK AT THE BOTTOM ONE FIFTH OF THE BACK OF THE IPHONE, ESPECIALLY THE LIGHT REFLECTION ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BOTTOM ONE FIFTH. I don't have a good monitor and I can see the difference in resolution.

(Sorry for the all-caps; just feel strongly about this. :))

Still fake. See my comments.

EDIT: I also increased "level" in Photoshop. That's why it looks grey and so I proved my point.

it's for sure not the dude's phone who's link you posted.

I didn't say that. I said it's quite possible that someone else has done the same modification to his/her iPhone, and taken pictures of it.

You can see the difference between the texture of the top of the phone, and the bottom (which would indicate two parts, not one solid back like the picture of the phone on the front page). Where the separation of the casing is on a regular/modded iPhone, you can see that it's been blurred.

not sure why the camera part isn't round? you're obviously wrong about that.
but yeah it's a PS job. it's my old phone. point being, 15 pages debating about the littlest crap. just hold off and see. who would honestly take only one angle? and why are they always taken with the worst cameras?

Maybe you didn't look closer.... you see the "swelling" on the shiny metal thing? (top right).... look before ask. :p

Hi youa'll...

I can hardly believe that there could be about 360+ posts talking about nothing! I suppose that Seinfeld had it right after all...

It is very funny, but I must admit that it feels like family in front of a fire-place on the shore of Lake Superior at dusk on a summer night... :) I can only read about 10 posts before I feel like going to sleep... Yawn...

I checked around and found this unfished version of the hoax photo, apparantly they were going to release the image like this, but then decided to try and make the back look seamless.

So if you're just now tuning in this is a summary of the previous 15 pages.

"It's real"
"It's Fake"
"It's a colorwared phone"
"Colorware covers the text"
"They photoshopped it on"
"look at the camera, it's at an angle"
"It looks smaller than the current iPhone"
"No it's not it's the same"
"It's real"
"It looks fatter in the middle"
"Thats the battery inside"
"It's fake"
"Waaaaaaa It looks like a scratch/fingerprint nightmare"
"It's not apple"
"It's real"
"It's a colorware Phone"
"FAKE"

(Rinse and repeat for 15 pages.)

Holy spot on!

that looks awesome!!!! I'm not sure if I would want it glossy, though... maybe a black like the black iPod Classic!! I would by one without a doubt, if they made it all aluminum black (even on the back of course...) without that plastic thingy. :D :apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:
