Ok thats what im doing now. Will be jailbroken then, or do i have to do this again?

You'll have to do it again. Click the restore button in iTunes pressing Shift then select the 4.2.1 firmware (download at apple site). It'll restore. After that, run greenpois0n.

Would this jailbreak require old blobs or will I be able to do it on my stock 4.2.1 firmware?

features an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 without the need for SHSH blobs. The exploit they are using has already been patched in iOS 4.3.

This doesn't seem to be working on my 3rd generation iPod Touch with 4.2.1. I followed the steps in the app, and it says that the jailbreak is complete, but I have to hold down the sleep & home buttons just to get my iPod to reboot, and when I do, there's no Cydia.

Ugh, this sucks. I'm stuck with a restored 4.2.1 now... and nothing is working, his JB isn't good :-(

So i restored it and tried to run green poison again, and the same thing happend? i dont know what im doing wrong

Can someone who pulled this off successfully tell me what I'm supposed to see after the jailbreak is done? A custom boot logo? A link to Cydia?

Can someone who has successfully gotten it to work please post their file they used since there seems to be some bad versions out there?

Ok, here's how it's been going for me:

1. I connect my iPod Touch (3rd gen.) to my Mac and then run Greenpois0n.
2. I press the Jailbreak button
3. I hold the Sleep button on the top of the iPod for 3 seconds.
4. I then hold the Sleep and Home button together for 10 seconds to enter DFU mode
5. I release the Sleep button and continue holding the Home button while the timer counts down.
6. Greenpois0n then says that it's jailbreaking. Should I keep holding the Home button or release it at this point? I've tried both methods, and either way, when Greenpois0n says it's done jailbreaking, my iPod remains off (presumably in DFU mode). To get it to come back on, I have to hold the Sleep & Home buttons. Once it reboots, there's nothing indicating that the jailbreak was successful.

So what am I doing wrong? Thanks to everyone who wants to help.
