Any ideas when the iPad 2 jailbreak will be available ? methinks months
Yes my iPad 2 will be delivered later today so hopefully not to long...
Till then will be JB my iPad 1 and other iDevices

The reason the untether wont work as-is on the iPad2 is that it requires a bootrom or iBoot-level exploit to install, and the iPad2 is not susceptible to either the limera1n or SHAtter bootrom exploits.

Check tetherme. The author was planning to enable the hotspot. He may have already done it for the 4.3 jb.
I wasn't wrong. I was just trying to steer you to the easiest method. Much simpler to use PwnageTool.
hey guys, i want to update from 4.1 to 4.3.1
I currently have a jailbroken phone, but I don't want to lose all my data... for example my game progress, contacts, messages, and cydia apps/settings. Most importantly my games though...
What steps should I take in order to make sure this happens. Because if I restore (using option + finding the 4.3.1 firmware I downloaded) it says I will lose all my data.

You just need to sync your phone with itunes on your computer before and after you update. If you don't want to deal with re-installing all of your cydia programs, you can buy pkgbackup in cydia. Follow the instructions to backup your cydia packages.
I won't lose my game progress using this method? Thanks. The version of PKGBACKUP i got keeps crashing everytime I open it. Will look into this. Thanks again.

Works great, except I have 1 bar, but this should be fixed via Cydia in the next couple of days (voice quality is fine)ok, so let us know how Cydia runs on your iDevice...

Encountered a nasty bug or something.
I preserved my baseband with Tinyumbrella and also had to use the Recovery fix. I didn't activate the phone by opening iTunes, instead I just went straight to redsn0w and jailbroke it and when it finished it skipped the activation and restored instead. Now, I have an iPhone 4 that has no network at all. Everything else works fine though, but my iPhone 4 is just an iPod Touch at the moment.
Oh and I'm not dependent on an unlock, I have AT&T.

Do I gotta use TinyUmbrella to preserve my baseband or can I just jb using this new 4.3 jb method and it'll keep my old bb? I would prefer staying on 2.10.04 bb if possible in case if an unlock is released later on.
I saved info how to do this in a text on my desktop just incase here is how I do it:
I just had to do it in Mac for my iPhone 4 and it worked.
I havnt tried the Windows route so let me know if that works?
How to Fix Error Code 1013:
Mac OS X:
Step 1. On your Mac, go to your “Applications” folder.
Step 2. Now navigate to the “Utilities” folder.
Step 3. Launch "Terminal".
Step 4. Type "sudo nano /etc/hosts" (without quotes) and hit return.
Step 5. Enter your password
Step 6. Use the down arrow key to find the “gs.apple.com” entries. Once the cursor is in front, make sure you comment out the line(s) by entering “#” in front of the text.
Step 7. Save the file by pressing CONTROL+O then hit Enter.
Step 8. Exit the nano editor by pressing CONTROL+X.
Step 9. Restore your iDevice.
Windows:
Step 1. Start –> Programs –> Accessories Step 2. Run Notepad or WordPad Step 3. Click “Open..” from File menu. Step 4. Browse to Windows/System32/drivers/etc Step 5. In "files of type:" select all documents Step 6. Open "hosts" Step 7. Delete all line that has "gs.apple.com" or something like that Step 8. Hit Save Step 9. Restore your device
Get TinyUmbrella, open TSS server and enjoy (don't forget to download the recovery fix).
