Certainly doesn't look like they knew it in time to be meaningful to us. There is not a single person, so far, who ordered 42mm Space Gray, was put in the second group, and has since had their order status changed from "processing."
Matthew Panzarino, over at TechCrunch, wrote, "It’s likely that several million (I’m hearing more than estimates I’ve seen out there so far) Apple Watch units have been sold already — and that more have been ordered [by Apple] than previously reported."
I think they have been running at full capacity for a while (months?) and beginning to take steps to raise that contractually set capacity (by altering contracts, adding a factory), starting Apr 10th, won't affect near term production. And they won't charter additional planes till they make enough additional watches to fill those planes.
TL;DR: If you got a May 13th delivery estimate, that's probably the earliest you should expect getting it. Only the people with more vague delivery estimates, like "June," might end up with "early June."
Exactly! I had some hope yesterday that I would at least get charged for the watch but as of 8:00am est today my credit card still is not charged and my order is still Processing. I really think the 13th of May is going to be the next big shipping wave as in, if you're order says 5/13-5/27 it's not coming any sooner. It seems like May 13th should have been the watch release day!
