Did you read the headline in the llnked article?
Do you know what the word "may" means?

Did you look at the date of the article and realize that this was speculation 2 days before the launch?

Did you read the first sentence of the article?
Do you know what this sentence means part means: "a 4/24-5/8 delivery estimate, which is up to a two week time frame after the Watch's April 24 launch."

Do you know that a range of 4/24 - 5/8 includes the date of 4/24?

Do you realize that availability of watches in Tanzania is also limited, even at launch?

Great!!!! Now you just crushed the hopes and dreams of every Tanzanian out there waiting for an Apple Watch.

It's not speculation, they were actual dates leaked from Apple's official German website. And since Germany was included in the initial launch, their shipping estimates would be the same as America's. Also the article says the shipping dates are the exact same for the UK. And once again, not a single person who ordered a link bracelet posted that they have a 4/24-5/8 delivery. That corroborates the leaked dates of you ask me.

You mean except for those that were sold to people who posted that they were in the first batch, right?

And those are only the people on one website vs. the 2M orders that were placed.

No one got any version of the SS with link bracelet in the "first batch" and certainly not the Space Black. I was on the order page within 20 sec of the store app going live and it said shipping in 4-6 weeks. That's what every other person on this forum has reported as well. So while Apple may actually ship out some SS link watches for 5/24 delivery, no one got a 4/24 ship date on one when they ordered.

For what it's worth I ordered a Space Black at 3:02am EST and a hold for the AppleCare+ showed up on my credit card yesterday. I would be much more excited if they hadn't also separately put a hold on the AppleCare+ for my girlfriend's Green Band Sport 42mm I pre-ordered on Monday, the 20th. Who knows, maybe Green is unpopular enough to where they actually had some lying around to fill orders with.

I really have no hope for getting it Friday but curious if us unfortunate souls in the 2nd wave get next day shipping as well or is that just the 4/24 folks?

More than likely. I doubt Apple would do that and screw people.

I'm just hoping Apple screws some of the 24th crowd. This would make me feel much better.
Even better, the ones that come to this thread and boast.
Keeping my fingers crossed :D

I think that you SG Sport guys may have to wait for the 13th onwards as that seems to be one of the most popular choices and Apple may need to ramp up production

Maybe. But maybe they knew this and produced more of those anyway.

Also, I can confirm that there were no 38mm Modern Buckles at launch. 3:01am as soon as store opened, 4-6 week wait for Modern Buckle. I ordered it, then right after 38mm Milanese and got 4/24 - 5/8. However, I canceled that, and am now waiting for 42mm Milanese for 4-6 weeks (May 13th - 27th)

Maybe. But maybe they knew this and produced more of those anyway.

Certainly doesn't look like they knew it in time to be meaningful to us. There is not a single person, so far, who ordered 42mm Space Gray, was put in the second group, and has since had their order status changed from "processing."

Matthew Panzarino, over at TechCrunch, wrote, "It’s likely that several million (I’m hearing more than estimates I’ve seen out there so far) Apple Watch units have been sold already — and that more have been ordered [by Apple] than previously reported."

I think they have been running at full capacity for a while (months?) and beginning to take steps to raise that contractually set capacity (by altering contracts, adding a factory), starting Apr 10th, won't affect near term production. And they won't charter additional planes till they make enough additional watches to fill those planes.

TL;DR: If you got a May 13th delivery estimate, that's probably the earliest you should expect getting it. Only the people with more vague delivery estimates, like "June," might end up with "early June."

Sounds logical. But in the end, we simply don't know. Neither do we know how many units of each combination have been ordered by Apple beforehand, nor do we know how many have been preordered in the first place. We also don't know how many of these preorders have been canceled since they've been placed. Many ordered two different sizes, went to the store to see them in person and cancelled one afterwards.

So all we can really do is guess. Of course it could be, that everyone with May 12 - May 26 delivery will receive it on May 12 the earliest and there's no rational reason to expect it to be shipped any earlier. But we know from different sources that the estimated delivery dates are handled pretty conservatively by Apple, this has also been the case for past launches. Take this, the cancelled preorders and the fact that some with a 4-6 weeks shipping estimate have already been charged and their status changed to "preparing for shipment" and you'll see that it's definitely a possibility that some of us will be getting their watches earlier than estimated, some might even get it on launch day. Not saying that is definitely happening, but there's a chance in my opinion.

Looks like there are very sporadic reports of watches in this time frame starting to ship. I can see this continuing for 1-2 weeks until there's the mass shipment of watches in this time frame.

My Apple Store did not open until 3:11 est.
ordered:
38mm aluminum case with pink sport band
38mm SG aluminum case with black sport band

Confirmation email- 3:16am est.

I have no pending charges
ETA- 5/13-5/27

First time post. I think I've got some activity on my order....

I paid via PayPal Credit. It was pending $450-ish since I placed my order at 12:04, but now it's changed to just the amount for AppleCare.
This is for the 42mm space grey aluminum black band. I had a 38mm reserved as well and cancelled that a day later. It too has changed to just the
amount for AppleCare. I think they're starting to process our orders, guys!

That would be awesome, though I'm not holding out too many hopes for the SS Space Black 42mm. But hey, we get to do it all over in 2 weeks!

I'm not far off from the above 5/13 order:

42mm Space Grey conf email at 3:14am.

No change in order status since preorder. (USA)

No changes for my 38mm Space Grey in Quebec this morning. Still keeping some hope for today. This is fun! :p
