Tomorrow's headline, "5.5 inch model not getting released til 2015". And when next year rolls around, "5.5 inch model not getting released til 2016".

IF no 5.5" than I'm buying the Galaxy Note 4. Small screen phones are dieing out. I also kinda doubt Apple will do a 5.5 cause it will kill off their ipad business especially their mini.
I have the Verizon HTC Droid DNA with 5" 1080p display and my next smartphone (January 2015) will not be less than 5" so if the iPhone is only 4.7" then I also will look at the Note 4 . I don't think a 5.5" iPhone would kill the iPad since they are much larger.

Me either. There have been lots of leaks about 4.7 parts but not a single leaked 5.5 part. This seems suspicious.

You're not. if the 5.5 was real we would have seen at least ONE part leaked, just one. But that didn't happen
I'm with you guys. Nothing substantial has come out like a stolen part, just 4.7" parts.

People keep saying this as proof that there will be no 5.5.
I have to keep saying that all those parts we've been seeing are not Apple parts. They are dummies, clones, fakes.
If anyone can show me a picture of one part that is without a doubt an Apple part, I'll eat my words.

I just hope for the IPhone 6B
B for battery = iphone twice as thick and mostly battery lasting 10 days. Extra thickness also allows for optical zoom camera and 256GB of storage...
B could be also for business, beast & best frickin' iphone yet

B could be also for BS. :p

From the "perfect" screen size 3.5" to 5.5"..

What would Steve Jobs say now..

Who cares what Steve would say. He's dead, gone.

As someone before me already stated, lets compare iOS devices side by side like the current iPad mini retina model and iPad air.

iPad mini retina 7.9":
  • Resolution 2048x1536 w/ 326ppi
  • A7 Processor 1.3GHz 64bit
  • M7 motion coprocessor
  • 5MP rear camera
  • 1080p video recording
  • 1.2MP front camera
  • Capacity 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB
  • 10 hours battery life

iPad Air 9.7":
  • Resolution 2048x1536 w/ 264ppi
  • A7 Processor 1.4GHz 64bit
  • M7 motion coprocessor
  • 5MP rear camera
  • 1080p video recording
  • 1.2MP front camera
  • Capacity 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB
  • 10 hours battery life

That's a 1.8 inch difference...

All speculation at this point but I hope it's all true. I like what I hear. I actually think I would prefer the 4.7" screen over the 5.5". I've had every iPhone since the original and 5.5" just seams too large to fit comfortably in my pocket.

Jim Dalrymple is a hack? When has he ever claimed he was Apple's mouthpiece? I can't remember the last time one of his "nope's" was wrong.

He acts like his one word responses come from inside information or something. And going by his track record they just might be. Despite how correct he has been in the past, there is two points.

1. A lot of his answers are to things the rumours have most likely confirmed (as much as rumours can).
2. He is not Apple. People tend to take his word at the value as Apples. Everyone knows I don't like that but it happens.

The market is clearly shifting towards larger handsets.

*Has shifted
Samebung released the s3 with 4.8" screen over 2 years ago.
I can't help but feel that had Apple reacted back then, Andriod would not be as popular as it is today.

Kudos for using "Samebung" for citing they had a larger screen phone 2 years ago in a larger iPhone screen size rumor thread.

I don't understand the mockup image. I thought the antenna would not be able to transmit with a full metal backing.

Maybe the back is riquidmetal, which is rumored to be RF transparent!

Actually, I have doubts about this transparency thing. [citation needed] But if ordinary metal, the back isn't solid. Remember the two lines across it like on the current phone, to handle antennas. In the new phone, there is even a hole in the back for the Apple logo. It could be an antenna is behind that, for Bluetooth or NFC or whatever. Finally, the front if glass, which is RF transparent and RF can get through that way.

I'll get the 4.7, but not the 5.5, unless it has some _very significant_ differentiator besides the screen and camera.

I'm no Android fanboy. I can't wait to get rid of my Nexus 5 for an iPhone 6. But don't be so naive to think that a 4.0" iPhone outsells all the 4.7"+ Android flagships out there.

Ummm... What? It does. The 4" iPhone is by far the best selling phone in the world.

I don't think Apple would make the 5.5 inch the flagship device. Even Samsung's flagship is the 5.1 inch Galaxy line.

I don't care what apple comes out with, they could release a coffee mug with a ham sandwich on top, just gives us some new products for 2014 PLEASE! WERE READY! :D:apple:

Analysis = “Quick what rumor can we rehash today?”

I’m sure there’s plenty of legitimate analysts providing useful product and financial analysis out there. They just don’t waste their time putting stuff on the internet, apparently.

Lol.. Totally agree... It has began to be a joke... 5.5 delayed, 5.5 on track, 5.5 doesn't exist, 5.5 released in September, 5.5 not released until 2015, 5.5 not true, 5.5 is released in September, 5.5 is not released this year, battery issues will delay 5.5 until 2015, no delays expected for 5.5, robots take over and make everything:), robots don't make everything, iPhone 6 5.5 release in September, iPhone 6 not released until 2016, etc; etc;
and so it goes on an on and on and on and on.....

100,000 additional workers makes for quite an impressive workforce. Wonder how long the lines at the bathrooms will be? :p

So was the iPhone 6 already in production at the beginning of the month but now going into overdrive (mass production)? It will be interesting to see if there are any quality control issues as the scale of production is pretty amazing.
