I will get the 40mm, I have medium sized wrists, but in general I find 42-46 mm watches to be too dominating.

really annoying to have to wait for the watch. way too much time to worry if i ordered the right size ;)

I have quite small wrist and even for me I think the 44 was a no brainer, I tried both at the store. It's quite big but I like the big screen.

Went to the store today to check them out. I always thought I have a small wrist (just over 180mm) and the 40mm looks tiny in direct comparison to the 44mm. I could wear both, but I think the 40mm is just too small. Will think about it a little longer (and what color I want) and then probably pick one up next week.

Judging by the guide, seems like my wrist isn't that small after all. Either that or I have to measure it again. ;)
Should have taken pictures, but of course I forgot. If I can't make up my mind about the color, I might go back early next week and take pictures of 40 vs 44.

Tried them both on at the store, 44mm seems a good fit. 40mm was definitely too small for me. My roommates 42mm S3 looks a little small on me.

I have 165 mm wrists as a man (6.5 inches, small) and wear a 42 mm SBSS S3. I think it looks great, not too big. I was VERY concerned about my still not here yet 44 mm SBSS S4 being too big so I finally went into the Apple Store today to try some of the new watches on.

The 44 mm looks barely bigger at all, side by side you barely notice it, wearing it feels the same, even smaller with the thinner nature of the S4. I am 99.9% confident if you current think a 42 mm looks good / works for you that you will be totally happy with the 44 mm. If the 42 mm has always bothered you and felt too big than obviously the 44 mm will feel the same, perhaps a slight bit worse... but nothing has magically changed from 42 -> 44 that you will go from "I love it!" to "Oh wow that's too big!".

Also I posted this on another thread but be VERY careful about how you interpret pictures people post here of their 44 mm S4 watches. Most people take the photos very close to the watch to show off the screen and it results in a skewed parallax view of the watch that makes it look like a monster. Here are two photos of me wearing my S3 42 mm and look how the close up one makes it look absurdly large but the further away one looks normal.

Guys, in near by store they don't have the 44mm or 40mm demo unit. And I am still undecided for which size should I go for.
So, I tried 42mm(Black) and 38mm(Pink), by looking at the pictures, can you guys suggest me, that for which size should I go for according to my wrist size. Thanks.

In reviews and photos which I have seen across the forum, 44mm case looks little spread out. So, I am worried if it's going to look broad on my wrist.

I pre-ordered the 40mm Gold Stainless Steel and i'm going to return it and get the same but 44mm instead. I just want the bigger watch.

Is there any difference in the walkie-talkie functionality between the 2 sizes? I mean in areas where signals are weak, which is my case (Scottish island). Does the 44mm have a slightly better cellular signal reception for instance?

I highly doubt that would be a factor between the two devices. They should have identical reception

We'll probably end up with both sizes in this house, so if there is a difference in reception, I'll report back. Back when the iPhone 5 was out, I had two identical phones, with identical settings. They both set the time automatically, and they were always about 30 seconds apart from each other. Never got any explanation for that.

Ordered mine 44mm GPS model. Should be here soon! So excited. I always go for a bigger screen if possible. It's just easier to read. really hoping the battery life isn't that abysmal as I am reading on the forum.

ordered the Al silver 40mm GPS model am happy with that. My plan though is to get the 44mm Cellular next year in the gold. Just to have something different to look forward to.

I have a really small wrist, about 6.3". I am hoping the 40mm is not too feminine as I am worried the 44mm S4 will be way too big on me.

I don't think it looks feminine at all, rather it seems more right sized for more wrists. I look at the 44mm and think it is a tad excessive. Of course if you get it in the gold and wear it on social occasions then it's really male jewelry and bigger is more impressive.

It really depends on the shape of your wrists. My wrists are only 150mm (5.9") and the 40mm looked small on my wrists because they are wide but thin. The 44mm looked almost the exact same on me as my current 42mm. I'd have been disappointed if I went with the 40mm. Definitely check them out in person if you can.

I went from the 38mm S3 to the 44mm S4 (160-165mm wrists). I still prefer the look of the smaller watch, looks less like a gadget and more like a watch, but I’ve become a pretty heavy AW user. I’m planning to give the 44mm a try and re-evaluate next year for S5 and possibly drop down to the 40.

Thank you for your input. I went to the Tmobile store and was blown away by how small the 40mm was. 44mm was not what i thought it was, it was NOT massive. It will fit my stupid small wrist. Guys- Do not hesitate on the 44mm.
