I think i found the pattern :

Developer Conference Attendance : Lottery
Priority Watch Order for Developers : Lottery
Shipment of watch orders : Lottery

No point in being the first in line anymore.

I know sometimes preorder get delayed delivery, but what REALLY REALLY tick me off is the fact that many people who have May and June delivery timeline are getting the "Preparing for shipping" status. I have April and May delivery timeline and got zilch.

So it's like those who ordered late actually got it faster. That's some BS from Apple... The new head honcho for Apple retail ****ed up big time.

Might be prudent to wait and see if you get yours on time, before you start losing it at apple. So far all that has happened is it looks like they are able to shift the expected delivery times sooner... that doesn't mean they are letting people "cut" in line. Your frustration is premature I think...

I just got an email from UPS (I believe since I signed up for UPS My Choice) that says my 42mm Apple Watch SS with Milanese Loop shipping label has been created, has my tracking number, and says estimate delivery between 4:30 at 7pm.

I plan to try and have it held at the UPS hub so I can go early at 8:30am to pick it up so I can go straight in to work afterwards and show it off. :)

Well, I just got the email of death from Apple... :(

My CC got charged yesterday, and I finally see a "Preparing for Shipment" in my order.

Nor Cal, ordered at 12:04AM here.

:09 order here and got the email.

Why wont they be honest in the email even? If we are not going to get it launch day, say that. Dont just say "we are processing your order" and give us the same delivery date we already have.

This launch is a debacle.

I hope as a large apple shareholder that this is generated from excess demand and not a supply constraint problem, but I doubt it. For some reason it seems they are failing to produce them in a timely fashion. The numbers you hear from Tim Cook will be how many were ordered, not how many were delivered.

My card was charged on tuesday and status moved to 'Preparing for shipment'. Today I looked in my account and the charge for both my watches had dropped off, like it was never there! Checked the status and it was still 'Preparing for shipment'. Have not received any tracking numbers and the watches do not show up on my support profile. So confused.

Ordered at 12.03 and I'm from Seattle

i was looking forward to unboxing and playing with this gadget all weekend! the anticipation is killing me! at least we're in the "early" batch for the milanese loop and we should see them soon!!!

keep your head up guys! i know it's a crappy feeling, not being able to open it on "launch day" but at least the "launch date" has been removed from the website....trying to see the silver lining in all this

Got the UPS notification at 3 AM ET and having it held for pickup. Does look like the ones where they ran out of immediate stock are getting the 'letter of death'. I hope those with later times that are getting shipments ahead of the 4/24 group are in other countries, etc.!

Except this hasnt happened... Apple shipped in order based on make, model and color that is available.

This launch is a total fail. I hope they can this new retail chick!
You want someone to lose their job and livelihood because you couldnt get a really popular product right at the most optimistic of delivery times? You need to get help. Seriously.

You knew your order had a range of dates and still ordered anyway. Apple didnt harm you in any way... But you are calling for people to be fired when you knew the circumstances around this release. You knew it had been rumored for weeks about possible supply chain issues for this brand new line of Apple products.

My order for Milanese is at 12:05PST, but there are several reports of people with even 12:16PST getting their SS Milanese shipped..search in Shipped thread.

When you picked your UPS location, did your estimated delivery date change? Mine just said Monday the 27th after I requested pickup. I think they add a buffer automatically though when you request a pickup at the store since they figure in transfer time? My guess is it will just go straight to that ups location? #

Nice.

This thead and others are miles long... Post links or it didnt happen. Those people may have gotten other watches too or they may be Apple developers etc... Who knows all of the circumstances? So why get all worked up when youll likely have yours within a few days to show off to all of your friends anyway?

This launch is a total fail. I hope they get rid this new retail chick! That email just made me even more mad.

let's see. typical Apple product launches involve people waiting in huge long lines at the local Apple stores which usually creates nothing but chaos for the people working there. so this time Apple tries a new thing with web (pre-ordering) that can (or in my case was) pretty simple by just getting up early in the morning and placing an order. this method took me less than two minutes from start to finish.

this means I will be getting both of my watches I ordered delivered to me on launch day and I didn't have to camp out who knows an ungodly amount of hours at the local Apple store to get my hands on their latest and greatest product.

I'd say Apple pulled this off with flying colors.

Just got "your order has shipped" email from Apple. UPS tracking says next day air. I guess it's coming tomorrow :)
