The Lynx Imaging technology that Apple acquired includes algorithms to combine data from two or more sources to produce a higher quality image than one of the sources could on its own.Ok. Let me clarify. The main purpose. Especially the purpose it was primarily engineered for. Do you know?
Nomenclature and bifurcate, two words that are always at the ready to deploy in the event of an emergency.Nomenclature is a great word. Right up their with classics like bifurcate. Well done. Adds a little life to the thread.![]()
Yup, and that's exactly what I would do. If Apple were to make phones that didn't meet my needs, or, if Toyota didn't manufacture the car that I'm looking for, or, if Levis all of a sudden made crap jeans, I'd simply look for a different phone, a different car, and a different brand of jeans. Easy. And I wouldn't accuse you of being selfish if you were to recommend that course of action to me - that would be silly and makes zero sense.
Encouraging others to take responsibility and look elsewhere if a company doesn't make products that meet your needs is hardly being selfish. It's simply being aware we all have choices, standing up, taking responsibility, and spending our $ elsewhere.
I get what I want by taking responsibility and making choices. You can do whatever.
I doubt Apple will raise prices on anything but the Pro, if it actually happens. They can't afford to overprice the iPhone any more than it already is, considering it's already one of the most expensive on the market.Did anyone really doubt that Apple wants to increase the average price of the iPhone, especially after the unexpected success of the cheaper SE? They're being greedy as usual.
Exactly, which means that inevitably the average selling price of iPhones in general will increase due to the people that purchase the Pro model. In other words, iPhones won't get any more expensive than they already are, but the Pro will raise the average selling price of iPhones to counter the SE's cheaper price.I doubt Apple will raise prices on anything but the Pro, if it actually happens. It should be obvious that Apple are successful due to more factors than external design.
Well documented greater considerations are intuitive ease of use, hardware-software integration, reliability, perceived higher security, after sales care. etc etc
The fact that they look and feel nice is an added bonus, but very few customers will buy - or not buy - a device because of camera bumps, thinness or other external facts.
I still use a 5 for travel, but much prefer my 6.
You seem to prefer the 5 to the 6.
Fine.
You'll agree that you do not represent everybody, perhaps not even "we".

Tell that to Apple, not me! I wouldn't mind a price decrease, either!iPhone need to be cheaper, not stay the same price or price increase.
The dual "pro" still looks like bender
Look at the mute switch at 0:46. I don't believe this crap.

[doublepost=1470619506][/doublepost]And the line-up will be so confusing: iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone Pro.
Highly doubt it. That's the whole purpose of the SE, so that they don't have to offer a "free" larger-screened iPhone in the fall. Those who want a larger screen and have been holding out will have to pay more, at least that's what Apple wants.iPhone 6 could still be offered as low priced 4.7 and 5.5 inch iPhone. By then iPhone 6 would be 200 dollar cheaper.
Ugh not a fan of all the leaks since the iPhone 5. It just sucks all the fun out of reveal day. I get it's a rumor website but it used to be 50/50 chance a rumor was real or fake now it's pretty much right on the money.
With 1 billion iPhones, you hit the unlucky lottery. We've had 3 iPhone 4, two iPad 2, two 5s, 1 6, 1 6s and two MacBook airs. Since 2010 only 1 issue."Well documented greater considerations are intuitive ease of use, hardware-software integration, reliability, perceived higher security, after sales care. etc etc"
Saying this is like saying Trump will be the greatest president. We all know how that gonna turn. If anything, iOS is opposite of ease of use. Give any smartphone regardless of OS, people can pick up relative fast. The fact iOS devices still have no file browser, no easy option to save file else where (aka, external storage), still unable to set default app. Anything wall gardened craps are anything but ease of use.
Speaking about quality, iPhone's quality is lengdary. I replaced my iPhone's screen twice under warranty due to dead pixel. This is my third screen, and dead pixel came back recently.
When I go travel, I use my Android with bigger battery and save all the pictures and videos to SD card. I refuse pay 200 dollars more for 128GB iPhone.

When I travel I take my dslr, lenses and laptop. Everything gets backed up there(laptop). I've had sd cards fail, unless I drop my laptop...
The reason I use my laptop is that pictures get backed up to my website using wifi. When I travel, I bring two things: my Android phone and iPad. I primary use Android with 64GB SD card for filming and take pictures.
Talking about quality issue. I had 08 white MacBook logic board failed within warranty period. 2 iPad 2 went replacement because it always disconnect with my wifi network, iPhone 6 and 6S both went screen replacement because of dead pixels.
Apple's product quality at good. Certainly better than those cheap Android craps. But not as good as people claimed to me. I have bunch of Android phone, Windows laptops and desktops worked fine without issue for years.

But I think you've been unlucky, I've really never had issues with any electronic device except for my bb storm 2, 5 replacements. I guess when tens of millions of iPhones are manufactured a small percentage slip through quality control.
I guess I don't see any quality decline. I always thought apples manufacturing quality was good. I do have AppleCare, the reason is that I'm a klutz.I do trust Apple in quality wise. I never bother to buy Apple Care plus in any of my iPhone purchase, because I expect t last long. However, Apple's quality start to decline, it shows up now.
If Apple can get away with it (i.e., make more in profit by raising prices because those here who vow to defect aren't economically significant) then they probably should. It makes fiscal sense.I'm not so sure anymore. I can see Apple doing a $50 price increase only because Apple can get away with it. It just wouldn't surprise me.

I can still hang onto the 6s until the next one comes out, even though I dislike it every day...Current SE is really-really good. Also features an amazing 3.5 mm audio jack to be plugged into just about anything. It would make little sense for Apple to release a new 4" phone just several months after SE, so we might have it in the spring 2017 or later?
Agreed and makes little business sense...I would be stunned if Apple put out a 4" phone in September 2016.
And equally stunned if they don't put out a 4" phone in September 2017.
I wouldn't bank on it for September. They have so many of the current SE's being manufactured it doesn't make business sense to update it after only 6 months.
They literally released that in 2016. It's called the iPhone SE.
woww iphone 7 nice
