So are you saying people should never backup their photos from their phone?

And risk losing EVERYTHING forever if the phone crashes or gets lost?

Ideally you back up your photo's to your home computer which automatically backs up to your cloud. Do this every 6 months. Doing less than this is risking losing EVERYTHING.

I have a 128GB.

Nothing wrong with backups, being forced to back up to a PC regularly is annoying.

Not everyone will be shooting 4K videos or snapping live photos. Everyone is complaining as if they are being forced to buy a 16GB version.

Only the unreasonable people are complaining.

They are trying to guilt Apple into saving them $100 next year. Cheapskates.

And what is so annoying about plugging in your phone to your computer once every 6 months and synching? Easy as pie.

So you never backup your phone to your computer?

even a 32GB phone will not be enough if you are taking a ton of pictures and photos.

A lap top is required. In my previous vacation to Europe my wife took 90GB of photo's and videos

Not everyone is like you or your wife. 32 would suit far more people than a 16GB

Your missing the point that a 16GB has to be backed up far far more offen....

But 64GB would be even better. Right? And 128GB would be even better then that.

See where I'm going? You can please everyone.

Apple knows this. They have usage data on all 400,000,000 iPhones. You don't. They have the most information to make the best decisions.

If you don't think the iPhone is superior to Android phones then buy an Android phone.

There is no reason to pay a premium price for the iPhone if thats the case. End of story.

You are also totally ignoring RESALE value which is a FACT not an opinion. Just as BMW has much higher resale value than Kia's, iPhones have much higher resale value than top end Android phones.

I choose apple for the OS......that stands for operating system, iOS, OS X ....

And the OS is an integral part of a smartphone. IMO, its over 50% of its value.

You can't seperate the physical phone from the OS.

Apple has spend TENS of BILLIONS on the OS and ecosystem. You can't just ignore it when considering what you are getting buying an iPhone.

You are one of the people that believes apple knows best, cannot do no wrong and will support whatever decision they make.

Let's agree to disagree.

At least get some credibility and buy a 16GB? Since your defending it so hard......

That is the point. OS and hardware cannot be seperated. If some one does like OS X or iOS, the hardware value is 0%..... Not 50%.

Did I ever say 16GB is for EVERYONE? No. I said it fits many peoples usage case.

I probably could get away with buying a 16GB phone. But for me that $100 to get 64GB is fine and worth it....to me.

People need to realize that everyone's use cases are different. Some need 128GB. Some only need 16GB. Again Apple knows this. They have all the usage data on all iPhones across the entire world. Do you seriously think Apple would continue to offer 16GB if it didn't fit a large portion of the user base?

If you think Apple is cheap and ripping of consumers why are they not starting the base iPhone at 8GB?

No, Apple is trying to balance customer needs and profits.

Please keep in mind that during the first 6 months of release the iPhone has massive demand and can hardly keep up with demand. So why would Apple 'discount' their phones? The launch rush, followed by holiday rush, followed by Chinese New Year in Feb, puts tremendous pressure on iPhone supply. But wait till late Feb. and you will see a ton of deals offering $100 gift cards with iPhone purchase. Then you can get a 64GB iPhone for $650.

So the choice is either pay the $100 and get the phone right way or wait a bit till supply and demand equalize and get the phone with 64GB for $650.

If hardware does not matter then buy the iPhone 6 for $650 that has 64GB.

Apple is giving people a choice if their budget is $650:

1. iPhone 6s 16GB
2. iPhone 6 64GB

or wait till Feb to get $100 promotions on the iPhone 6s 64GB

Max(IT) disagreed with you Warrior. That should open your eyes that you are beyond ridiculous on this argument.

I think people are better off just ignoring the 16GB iPhone.

iPhone 6s 64GB - $750
Samsung S6 32GB - $650
Samsung 6Edge 32GB - $750
HTC One M9 32GB - $650

So is the iPhone worth the $100 premium over the 32GB Android phones? Also keep in mind you are getting 32GB more of memory.

IMO the $100 premium for the 64GB iPhone is well worth it compared to the competition.

It stands to reason that if you want the best phone on the planet you need to pay a bit more.
Most people are not in the US. The iPhone 6s is a lot more expensive for people outside of the US. In Europe it looks more like this:

iPhone 6s 64GB - €850
Samsung S6 32GB - €650
Samsung 6Edge 32GB - €750
HTC One M9 32GB - €650

Competitor prices listed here are on the upper end of the spectrum, with some searching you'll easily get it for €100 less than stated above. So the difference is quite big.

Thanks for the context for Europe.

But what was the price of the Samsung S6 when it launched? The S6 is almost 6 months old so I'd expect it to be significantly cheaper than the 6s

€700 at launch for 32GB model. With some cashbacks and searching you'll get it for €500.

32 GB 64 GB 128 GB
Galaxy S6 - 699 Euro 799 Euro 899 Euro
Galaxy S6 Edge - 849 Euro 949 Euro 1049 Euro

Now you get 100€ Cashback and other goodies,
because it doesn't seem to sell well

So one man/woman represents the general sentiment of 400,000,000 iPhone users?

That one man/woman is likely the most hardcore apple support on this site. I have honestly never seen them disagree or call Apple out on anything. But even they disagree with you here.

Now have a Galaxy Note 4, and maybe buy the 16 GB 6S Plus.
Like to take pictures a lot, upload some TV series to watch on the Phone.
But rarely make videos.

Not sure now.

Given you have no idea what that data represents, stop quoting it. Your making silly assumptions and telling others are wrong cause apple has lot of data. Yet have no idea what that is.

Using your data theory, that more data represents better decisions.....geez Google kicks butt.... Wrong....

Do you have any proof at all what the quality of apple's analytics department is? If not, stop making up facts...please.

So prices are pretty comparable to iPhone.
But supply/demand causes Samsung prices to get discounted.
