cheapskate is a person who expects a $750 product to cost $650.

You want quality? You gotta pay premium prices. Don't expect premium quality with low prices. Apple has phones for many budgets

$450 iPhone 5S
$550 iPhone 6

Problem is people want the BEST and NEWEST and pay budget prices.

Try a dictionary.

Ha ha ha!

Back up that statement. Explain this animal.

1. The SD card market is flooded with counterfeit and off-brand cards on EBay and other sources. They may be just cheap knock-offs. They may be marked as higher capacity than they really are. They may have had a simple hack done to make them read as having a higher capacity. Reliability can be fair to nil. And speed ratings are worthless.

2. The antique FAT file system. Unreliable, slow, no support for user permissions, and no journalling.

3. SD cards, even top-notch ones, are slow and unreliable compared to memory chips.

4. SD cards can slow down entire OS and even pose a danger for virus'

5 SD cards waste space and require phones to be thicker and heavier

6. Failure of SD cards are much much higher than internal storage. Good luck when you lose thousands of photos forever.

Time to face facts. The SD card is an old, outdated technology of questionable reliability and limited capabilities. It's past time to move on. In just a few years SD cards will be like the floppy disk - laying in the bottom of a junk drawer with nothing still working that reads them anymore.

So no facts.

1. Irrelevant - buy from reliable sources
2. Don't use fat32
4. Proof the sd is responsible
5. Lol.... Maybe time you researched android phones.
6. Proof it. Wondership cycle is 24 months for phone upgrades .

thanks for the debate , but is pointless.

Let's agree that I am a cynic and your an apologist : draw , either way I'm out, gonna watch the rugby

sd cards are 1990's tech. I mean seriously. What a pain in the ass.

They are slow, unreliable, and potentially dangerous. They fail so often that you can rely on them. NO one wants sd cards except tech nerds with 100 movies. They are comparable to burning stuff on a cd or dvd. Sure some people do it but not the mainstream because its a pain in the azz.

You cant compare them to onboard storage.

So again I ask why is 16GB such a big deal since Samsung was doing 16GB until March this year? Truth is it isn't. Its just another Meme for Apple haters to pounce on. And unfortuantely many Apple fans have fallen into the same Meme and now think they 'deserve' more free GB.

And again all the 16GB haters have yet to come up with good solutions. The 2 solutions presented here are unacceptable.

The first was to charge $250 for 32GB of storage for 64GB buyers. Totally unacceptable.
Second was to charge 64/128GB users more money per GB of incremental storage. Again not acceptable to give the shaft to your most valuable cusomers.

So again give me a good solutions to the 16GB problem. Give me the tier pricing that makes sense.

The solutions so far are not acceptable.

32/64/128 for $500/$750/$950

Absolute trash. Made me LOL.

32/64/128 for $650/$750/$850

That is not acceptable because you are charging the 64/128GB users more per GB of extra storage than LAST YEAR. That is not a way to treat your most valuable customers.

So please come up with a solution that makes sense.

Funny its so easy to bash Apple about 16GB, yet no one can come up with a solution that makes sense.

Your arguments are contradictory at this point and you refute everything anyone says to you just for the sake of it. You are running out of people willing to take your bait. I do like useful debate, but that does mean someone learns something from the discussion. I am not sure that is possible here.

Please give us a solution then.

If you start at 32GB tell me the pricing tiers.

So easy to find fault, but so hard to bring a solution that is better

Remove the 16 gb and replace it with the 32 gb keep same price.

Not like apple will lose 100$ lol. Apple probably pays 1 cent for the extra storage. I know it costs barely 200$ to build the entire phone.

I thought live photos were just one of the options you can scroll across to in camera mode? That was what has been suggested in a few of the reviews.

Yes, it's just a sticky toggle, I believe at the top of the camera app interface. It's not like you have to go into settings each time you want to turn it on or off.

Lets argue he actually makes sense ... see what he responds with after! ;) lol

What kind of solution is that?

So you are giving 64/128GB users less incremental GB per dollar?

last year 64GB users got 48GB for $100 extra.
And now you want to give them just 32GB for $100 extra?

How is that a wise thing to do? Giving 64/128GB users less value than last year?
How does that make any sense to penalize the customers who buy the most expensive tiers?

And no you don't know if the phone cost $200. Thats a total guess based on bullsheet. Tim Cook himself said those build estimates by these research companies are way off. The fact is Apple's profit margin is 21% last year and that is a FACT because it its signed by Tim Cook with the SEC. That $200 figures is total and utter crap.

Your OPINION is not fact. That is a simple fact.

This thread is becoming a joke.

You don't know the difference between fact and opinion.

FACT: If Apple makes the base phone $650 and 32GB, then 64GB buyers will be only getting 32GB of incremental storage instead of 48GB for the $100 extra they pay.

That is a FACT. Dollars and Gigabytes. FACTS.

The fact is the 64/128GB owners will be getting less incremental value from the $100 and $200 premium they pay if you start the tiers at 32GB.

You can twist words all you want but that's the dead truth.

So do you really want to give your most valuable customers LESS VALUE than last year? Is that really your plan?

Base model should be 64GB anyway. Highest end should be 256.

so you are saying 64/128/256 for $650/$750/$850?

is that a total and utter joke?

So you are telling me Apple will undercut Samsung in price? LOL! So Apple which is selling the world's most popular phone and can hardly keep up with demand the first 6 months of release should sell their phones for less than Samsung?

You are living in an absolute dream world. If they used your pricing structure Apple would lose BILLIONS in profits this year. Absolute madness.

Concerned Troll: Yo, Tim how is iPhone 6s launch going?

Tim Cook: Its going great! We can't even keep up with demand. All sold out for weeks!

Concerned Troll: I have a plan for next year.

Tim Cook: Sure lets hear it.

Concerned Troll: Why don't you give all the models double the storage for free. Since you know, you having such a hard time selling them.

Tim Cook: .........

I don't know why I keep responding. Read the blog I posted yesterday. It is great analysis and spot on what Apple is doing/going to do likely. Especially since it was written last year and has been correct so far.

http://www.aboveavalon.com/notes/20...illion-in-2015-by-selling-16gb-iphone-66-plus

They are currently in year 2 of option A. 64GB will be the most popular model with the 6S.

Then for the 7, they introduce 32GB base, 64 (or even 128) and 128 (or even 256). The prices all stay the same as they have for many years. Users will then pay a little bit more to step up a tier and get used to the extra space. This can go on indefinitely.

A case can be made that Apple is looking to get users dependent on higher storage capacities (at some point in the near future, 64GB will likely seem inadequate), by carefully guiding customers into a particular iPhone model each year.

Your little skits are ridiculous. Nothing is "free" here. It is all basic finance and marketing. Honestly, quit responding immediately with knee jerk statements and listen for once.

So the article says if Apple listened to people here and started at 32GB they would lose $3 billion in profit.

That is a ton of profit. $3 billion is basically how much profit the entire iPad lineup makes a year. So in other words you want to throw away the entire profit stream of the iPad just to please a few cheapskates? Hell no.

YOU DIDN'T READ IT!!!!

Eventually they need to go to a higher base model. Right now they are reaping the profit keeping it 16GB to "invest" for later. With this plan, a good percentage of users step to 64GB. Then when they introduce 32GB base, some might step down, but they are banking that likely most will want to keep their space. This is exactly why they are doing this middle step!

Apple can then do two things:
Introduce 32GB and keep the 64 and 128 the same for the same price. Will there be outrage, maybe? Likely the same as 5S to 6 when the top two tiers doubled for the same price and 16GB stayed the same for the same price. But it will only be temporary bitching (like every year).
or
they can double all the tiers as they have done in the past (this could be done in two stages with the above happening first, then double the top two).

Do this until 32GB is no longer adequate, rise, repeat.

Do you invest money? Do you understand long term planning? All you are looking at is the current situation.

Your are on like 120 posts on this thread.

Baiting everyone , if this is not trolling, it's definitely bickering! You refuse to listen to anyone else's point of view.

Enough maybe ? Before the mods kill this thread?

Just agree to disagree .
This thread makes a whole lot more sense to me now lol. We are talking about warrior2000? I blocked him maybe the third day he made his account; I couldn't stand it. He clearly made an account on this page to do nothing with it other than bicker and defend Apple to the death.

The forum used to tell you that someone on your block list posted (so that you may at least gain context of a discussion when you can't see parts of it) , but I guess that has changed.

LOL!!!! this thread must look like Fight Club with Warrior 2000 blocked. I am Tyler Durden.
