5870 Order Status Thread (Update as yours changes) ***UPDATED***

I ordered mine on Nov 6. It still has the Dec 22 ship date. So I called apple to have them cancel my order. They offered to expedite my shipping, but the card still wouldn't ship until Dec 22. I asked them to cancel my order. They offered me a $45 discount. I said i'd rather have the card next week. So they offered me $100 discount! With EPP price and discount the card is $313 with expedited shipping! I hope they ship it early, but I'll wait 4 weeks for $100 off!

I ordered yesterday, when US store said 'ships in 24 hrs' but was still unavailable in the UK store, though now open to orders. I originally got a confirmation mail with an estimated ship date of 27 Dec, but a few hours ago it got shipped and supposedly I can get it this monday/tuesday.
Wow, mines been prepped for shipment since yesterday and still hasn't shipped and according to apple it will on December 22nd although something sounds messed up with that date cuz I doubt they prep at item for shipment a month in advance.... At least I hope. Please post when your order does ship so I can see if they really did goof my order
Okay, it has shipped (email came at 18:36). Got a UPS tracking number, but that isn't working on UPS' site yet, but that usually takes a while. Apple tracking is saying the 17th, but my bet is Monday.
Mine is scheduled for delivery today. It's already on the truck. Time to put my old video cards up for sale. Funny part is that it shipped from Middletown, PA for me, so that would have mean had I ordered ground shipping it would have delivered on Saturday due to Home Delivery.

I got the shipping notification yesterday, delivers tomorrow (nov 16) via UPS. (it should fly out today, good thing I live in a city that is also a shipping hub)
Ordered mine today. 3 hours later it is shipped via UPS scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Strangely, i have not gotten any E-Mail from Apple. No order confirmation or shipping notice.

Thank you! I have been trying to follow this for awhile and I somehow missed that thread completely.
I placed my order on Friday and my shipping status now shows "3-5 business days", when in fact the online Apple store still says "ships within 24 hours".
I called Apple and they cannot seam to understand why the delay in shipping.
For the inconvenience they offered me a $99 mini display port to DUAL link DVI adapter FREE !!!! (Of course after telling them that I have a Octo Mac Pro, 2 MacBook Pros, 2 iPhone, and 1 iPod touch).
Worth the wait !

FedEX delivered mine this morning.
Simple install, just swapped out the 4870. Left the GT120's in place.
When I first powered on the Mac Pro the display connected to the 5870 wouldn't come one.
I looked in Sys. Profiler and the Mac Pro was seeing the 5870. So I unplugged the display and reconnected it. And now everything seems fine.
10.6.5 must not be helping to much with the drivers my CineBench, and GeekBench scores both dropped after installing the 5870.

That's not very promising, although I would expect the drivers to continue to improve with coming OS updates (hopefully more than wishful thinking).
I'm about to pull the trigger on the upgrade as well--Barefeats is showing real-world increases, at least with most games and a few OpenCL benchmarks--so I am expecting the extra horsepower of the 5870 not to go to waste.
One thing that seems very odd is how quite the 5870 is.
Usually when I restart the Mac Pro I can hear the 4870 spin up. But the 5870 is almost silent.

I've been keeping my ear to the ground about the ATI drivers, and I've heard a few things related to 10.6.5. Nothing solid. But I'm interested in knowing the performance everyone is having.
There is an increase in "real world" performance, just don't set your expectation high.
As for open cl, the gtx285 completely beats it.

So, the other thread with the list of compatibility issues says the 5870 works on the two 1,1 undocumented Boot Roms, but still isn't booting on the MP11.005C.B08. I just ordered this card, so I'm a bit nervous now. Has there really been any more information on this?
