Lame. Lol I just want it to ship by next week

My status just updated. Shows now as shipped... FedEx says just shipped from Fort Worth arriving on Monday.
Ordered the gold 64GB from AT&T site the very first night and received confirmation at 3:06am Eastern time.

How exactly did they drop the ball? You're not the only one who wants an iPhone, there is at least ten million who does in several countries with several different carriers in three colors and three capacities, and that's just the launch weekend with folks buying every day since. You can't expect Apple to produce 100 million iPhones per week, which is not possible, especially when dealing with dozens of different iPhone models.

There are still some parts that have to be assembled by hands at the factories, so it's not like the companies who make the iPhones (not Apple), can just replicate the factories to scale it. Such factories cost billions of dollars to produce along with the manpower required to fill the positions, and unless Apple's willing to put up their own money, it's not going to happen. They can do what the factories can produce.

you would think they would get it by now, PRODUCE PRODUCE PRODUCE then release. Most of the ATT stores in FL only received slate models instead receiving a variety of colors and models thats what i call my friend dropping the ball not being prepared for the demand dont get me wrong im a apple fanboy myself ,but im not afraid nor in denial that somebody somewhere screwed up... or maybe its a part of the plan, lets not make enough so they will want it more.... who knows? thank you for your opinion

Nice, this is the first Gold 64GB in this thread that has shipped that I'm aware of. I hope the rest of ours will be following soon.

I just checked mine again and it still says the phone is "preparing to ship" and the sim is "processing". Ordered just after midnight on launch day.

Does it mean anything when the sim changes from "backordered" to "processing"?

Yes, it means you should expect a shipment within days rather than weeks. From what I've seen, that's what people saw right before getting Fedex emails within a few days.

However, because it is close to the weekend, you should lower your expectation a bit because it might not happen until early next week.

I ordered two iphone 5s 16gb (not gold) through an ATT store on 9/21. The status said processing for the phone, but backordered for the various SIM for both phones. They said between 10/21-10/30 for shipping estimates. They now show as shipped with a tracking number. They'll be here this saturday. I wouldn't rely on the estimated shipping dates too much.

How long after did your SIM go from "Processing" to your phone changing to "Processing" as well?

I ordered 2 (16 gb & 32 gb) on the 24th bout 8pm. The 16 gb shipped today(the 26th). No ETA on the 32 gb

What does, "Processing Expected Ship Date: Pending Confirmation" mean? Is it about to ship?
