Carrier 5S order through AT&T not shipping until 10/21?

2) Web site Order status - expected Shipment date between Oct 1 and Oct 30th
3) Web site Order status - Phone status - indicating "Preparing to Ship", SIM status indicating "Backordered"
4) Web site Order status - Phone status - indicating "Preparing to Ship", SIM status indicating "Processing"
5) Web site Order status - Phone status and SIM status both indicating "Processing"
6) Web site Order status - Carrier changed to "FEDX" and Tracking Number with "Pending Shipment"
7) Final email from AT&T with Order Shipment Notification and Tracking #.

Wow I ordered the 25 at 10am at att hopefully I'm as lucky I got a 16gb slate

UPDATE: I checked my status at 4:30pm est. Finally listed the tracking number from FedEx. Delivery is scheduled for Monday.

My shipment status now says In Progress.

Yes, SIM card. Each iPhone comes with one already in it. On the order status, there's two orders, one for the iPhone itself and one for the SIM card.
 
Does anyone know if when you order the 5s thru ATT if you pay right then or it charges you when it actually ships?

I can tell you my experience with ordering if that helps. I ordered the gold 16gb 5S. My card was initially charged the amount but I believe it's only a pre-authorization, and it was released/refunded in 3 days because my phone isn't due to ship until late October. When the phone is shipped I will be charged officially.
 
Golden boy showed up today. Wasn't set to ship until 10/21-10/30

32gb

 
Ordered mine yesterday at att store checked the order number today and it's on it's way be hear this Wednesday.
 
just curious maybe somebody can help me understand but why are a bunch of space grey available????? and not other colors

How long was yours at step 4? My Gold 64GB has been sitting there for two full days now.

It was at step 4 for about a day and a half.

Same here, for two days been sitting on preparing to ship and processing :(
 
ordered AT att for my fiancé, 16GB gold on launch day - late afternoon. nothing shows up when I enter the order number on their website? I guess we'll keep waiting.
 
I was told all of the gold models that are being produce are going to china because the popularity and the demand is much greater than the US

That doesn't make any sense to me. Apple is filling existing paid orders.
 
For me, the phone has a status of 'preparing to ship' while the SIM still says 'processing.' However, the charge shows up on my credit card when it wasn't on there yesterday. So I'm hopeful that the order will ship soon.
