Has been able to. What you should expect is that run plus regular use with battery to spare at bedtime.

Ha, no way - never expecting Garmin levels (Fenix 5, non-S, lasted me weeks and the Coros Apex... a month!) but you're exactly right. I need to run, go to work, and be home without it dying on me!

Agreed. All day normal usage plus an hour outdoor workout without phone has been my typical pattern with Apple watches.

I've kept my Garmin FR235 in case I should ever hit my head and decide a third marathon seems like a good idea.

So we may see 6.01 if it exists this week seeing that OS6 was released 11 days ago. Fingers crossed.

Or maybe not. Perhaps the iOS 13.1.1 update has had an effect in terms of watch/phone communications.

Having re-verified my S4/WatchOS4 battery life, I switched back to my S5 last night before bed (hadn't unpaired).

So far today I'm see S4 / WatchOS 5 levels of battery usage. 2.8% per hour over 5 hours with AOD on, noise off, background app refresh on for most things but off for those I don't use/need/want.

Only real change has been iOS 13.1.1 and turning off background app refresh for audiobooks, camera, compass, news, noise, radio, voicememos.

FWIW, I have a Series 4 on 6. I've lost 25% in 12 hours using the Meridan watch face with noise detection on and one 30-minute workout. I use my watch to track sleep patterns and as an alarm. I usually top it off in the late evening.

Just did a 60 min outdoor run with LTE only streaming music to Powerbeats and lost 28% on 6.1. In line with S4. AOD on.

The marathon never seems like a good idea. And then suddenly you're registered... and then you hate it... but look at that, you're registered again...

Just to say.... downloading 6.0.1. at the moment (not a beta).

Edit. Update installed and working fine. Just got to see how the battery etc performs over the next 24-48hrs

Do you think 6.1 can give you 50% remaining after 24 hours? If the 5 can beat the 4 I am in a return window. Also, I’ve seen comments regarding screen brightness of the 5 vs 4. Overblown?

Mine has been the same. 50% loss per 24 hours.

No way. My Series 5 went from 10% at 7pm (I run a lot) to 20% at 11pm. Not even close to 50% after 24hrs.

I don’t think the Series 5 will ever be better than the Series 4 in terms of battery. Just like the Series 4 never equaled the Series 3. The Series 3 is the all time battery champ for me.

My first day with my new watch. Using the Meridian face. AOD on and noise switched off. Cranked the brightness up to Max as it is nowhere as bright as my S4. Not expecting a Mega battery life for the first couple of days but we shall see

Just updated to 6.1 beta 2, we'll see if that makes a difference with battery life. After 4 days with beta 1 I do think that 6.1 made a noticeable improvement in battery life. For me it wasn't a huge difference, but the difference was noticeable (like 10-15% more battery at the end of the day).

p.s. Meridian is back.

Beta 2 installed as well, beta 1 has been great though. Great to see meridian back and going from the clock to the app icons seems much smoother as well, that had horrific stutter in 6.0, a lot better in 6.1 beta 1 and beta 2 seems to have smoothed that out again.

Beta 2 seems to finally be getting me back to what I had before 6.0 GM. Just a few hours so far, but my AW5 is doing better than beta 1, so far.

Hello guys. I'm new to the forum. I have a watch 5 40mm lte.

I tried watchos 6.0 and 6.0.1 and the battery was not good.
I installed 6.1 b1 later this morning and now b2. seems that with b2 it is good now.

tomorrow we will see all day.

Shortcuts still don't work.

I have a question: when the stable version 6.1 comes out, I have to delete the beta profile from the app watch right?

I will update the post every hour with the results

I will try to not use it much

Sorry to ask something off topic, but has anyone else lost their default replies on the bottom of threads, under the reply icons (scribble, emoji etc.)?

installed 6.1 B2 this morning and then charged the watch back to 100%

Currently I am 1 hour in and still at 100%!

AOD on, noise off, 44mm AW5 LTE (activated).

I continue to drain 3/4% for h.

Look at my post where you liked

So far, for me, B2 seems about the same as B1 in terms of battery life.
