Since I turned off backgrounding on certain apps and killed Facebook, my battery doesn't want to die. Granted I haven't played games our steamed much video but this is still amazing.

I have been getting comparable battery life to others here, I love it! Probably the biggest reason I went 6+ over 6 was the bigger battery and I am very happy with it.

One thing I do want to know. I know it isn't as important as it used to be with the newer battery technologies but I just want to be sure I'm not damaging my battery. I always plug it in overnight, no matter where it is. The way I look at it, I'd rather start the day with 100% charge than start lower and have to plug in at some point. I have also been plugging it in when driving. This is more out of habit than anything else but should I stop doing this and just let it go during the day? I know these things degrade over time, there is no way to avoid that, but I don't want to speed up that degradation by charging it too much!

I suggest you guys read from the experts instead of guessing. If you think draining a battery down to zero does not affect the battery your are sorely wrong.

Simple Guidelines for Charging Lithium-based Batteries

A portable device should be turned off while charging. This allows the battery to reach the threshold voltage unhindered and reflects the correct saturation current responsible to terminate the charge. A parasitic load confuses the charger.

Charge at a moderate temperature. Do not charge below freezing.

Lithium-ion does not need to be fully charged; a partial charge is better.

Chargers use different methods for “ready” indication. The light signal may not always indicate a full charge.

Discontinue using charger and/or battery if the battery gets excessively warm.

Before prolonged storage, apply some charge to bring the pack to about half charge.

Over-discharged batteries can be “boosted” to life again. Discard pack if the voltage does not rise to a normal level within a minute while on boost.

Screen-off battery life is excellent on the 6 Plus, and where its advantage over the 6 and older iPhones really shine. That's why the following is true:

iPhone 6 Plus is rated for 24 hours of talk time

vs

iPhone 6 is rated for 14 hours of talk time.

And...

iPhone 6 Plus is rated for 384 hours of standby time.

vs

iPhone 6 is rated for 250 hours of standby time. That's 16 days vs ~10.5 days. Quite the difference...

And...

iPhone 6 Plus is rated for 80 hours of audio use.

vs

iPhone 6 is rated for 50 hours of audio use.

See the common theme here? The screen is off...

So, if you're a heavy screen-off user (as I am), you'll see the largest changes. Even with the screen on, there are some differences between the two devices, but not as great as when that screen is completely off.

Is it safe? If it's quicker and safe why wouldn't apple sell it as an iphone charger?

Although the iPhone 6+ comes with a 1A charger, the phone supports 2.1A charging, which is the same as an iPad.

Unless something is wrong I think I'm over using my phone I got my usage to 12hrs before hitting 20% the only thing is my usage and standby is the same, not sure if there is an issue or over use.

I simply can't remember how much I have left the phone without use.

My battery life has been great! Like I said above, still not sure if I'm killing my battery by doing partial charges but I know that I unplugged my phone at 7:30, had it on the charger on the way to work and after work, that's it. Other than maybe about 20 minutes my phone has been off the charger all day and night and here's my battery usage:

It's been 5 days since I last charged. Fairly light use but the battery life of my 6 plus is unreal.

I clip my phone to the dash in my car and play bluetooth audio while keeping the screen on. Today I have 49 minutes of use and 1:35 of standby and it's still at 100%. My 5s was typically in the 92-94 range at this point.

Throughout the day I'm still averaging right around 10% per hour once I start texting and such. My music player does not have the white background, so that may help with my "screen on" playing music still not using much power. Yesterday I had 9 hours of use and 13% when I plugged in.

It's so nice knowing that if you stop using the thing at 10% and save it for an emergency, it would be there. No more panicking when you are getting low that you won't have it if you have car trouble or need to get a hold of someone. I love my Plus!

6 Plus battery life: excellent

Let my phone go completely off the charger from 7:45 am and it shut down about 5 minutes ago (almost 11 pm). After my last 2 phones needing to be on a charger at the office and in the car, I am officially impressed!

Still surprised at how much Facebook used!

Even when I use my Plus all day I almost always find the battery at 60% at night. It's crazy good! :D

That link and article applies for a Lithium battery. The batteries in the Macbook Pros and iPhone/iPad are Lithium Polymer Ion Batteries. How you charge them is irrelevant. Besides using a ton of cycles the only thing that can really degrade the battery is turning it off at 100% or 0% and storing it for weeks at a time. This is why new products always come at a 80%, this ensures the proper capacity for the battery while it is not being used.

I've tried a lot of phones, most of them actually. Nothing compares to the 6 plus battery. Especially when it comes to being consistent on a daily basis. Outstanding job Apple!!

None of my Apple devices every arrived at 80% or less.

Trying to run my new iPhone 6 Plus battery down to 1% so I can charge it all the way up for the first time. 12 hours in under heavy use, and I'm still at 16%. That's impressive, especially given the gazillions of notifications I get.

Yes it is true! The bigger, high resolution screen, the camera with optical stablization and the battery life are the main reason that I choose iphone 6 plus. I'm pretty happy with the battery life. Now I don't have to carry a portable battery with me for the whole day work.

Disappointed after reading all those "lasted 2 days" reviews. I'm getting about 7 hours use + 15 hours standby which is comprised of WiFi 5 GHz & LTE Web browsing, about an hour of phone calls on Bluetooth (WiFi & BT toggled off when not in use), screen on auto brightness about 50-100% depending, Pinterest browsing, messages & email. I've checked Location Services, etc. to make sure nothing is jammed on and all looks normal.

This is better than my 5S to be sure but just not quite the mind-blowing performance I was expecting. Here's a screenshot at 5% battery on a typical day...

This is the culprit.
