Not particularly happy with this. I only have to breathe and it loses a percent. Dont know how you guys are doing it.

It then went down 16% in an hour and a half.

I am definitely happy with the battery life so far. Took it off the charger yesterday morning. Went to sleep with 74%. With as much as I used it/played with it, my iPhone 5 would have been 20-30%. Today used it about the same amount and currently at 48%. I probably don't have to charge it tonight. So if this trend continues, I'll be charging it every 3 nights as opposed to nightly. Love it!

Iphone 6

Post your battery usage stats. Also the battery of my iphone 6 is excellent

Usage: 5 hours, 15 minutes
Standby: 1 day, 7 hourd
Battery Left: 14%

I second that, my Iphone 6 has incredible battery life, all with exchange services running constantly. I am getting 16 hrs with 5 hrs usage and around 45-50% left of battery at days end. Amazing and again this is on the Iphone 6 NOT the plus.

Oh really? I thought the less charge the better

The more you drain the battery down the less life you will get out of it. I'm not talking about the current charge but the longevity of the battery. This applies to all lithium ion batteries. It puts extra stress on a battery to drain it low.

Why do this? It's bad for the battery. Just plug the thing in as often as possible.

The best way to keep your iPhone battery healthy is to top off the charge whenever possible. Less cycle counts equals a healthier battery.

This I agree with, no need to completely drain it on first charge and you already used up one cycle by doing so. I don't think it's necessary to even completely drain the battery anymore.

As I mentioned earlier, the battery has no memory in itself. Each cycle slowly degrades the battery until it fails. Less cycles = longevity and performance.

Ok, now she's a keeper. Love this battery life. Time for overnight charging.

Partial charges still count towards a full cycle. The point is that LI-ON batteries respond best if you top them up. It's best to charge them when they get down to about 40%. The potential problem comes from draining them all the way out.

Less cycles equals longer life. Why would wait until 40%? It has no memory. It only understands cycle counts. Partial or full. Lithium ion batteries do best if topped off often and no there is no need charge to full if you don't want to. The partial charges consistently keep the cells of the battery in better condition and equals less cycle counts over your ownership.

Check out the website called Battey University for lots of good information.

Incorrect. A cycle is a cycle. So, if you run your phone from 100% to 0 and back to 100% that's one cycle. But if you run your phone from 100% to 75% and back to 100% four times that's still one cycle.

Of course. That's is what I'm saying. Less cycle counts equals longer battery life. This is achieved by plugging in the phone often. Do you understand? Go look at the website.

No it isn't. Unless you mean using the phone while it's plugged in more. The only way to reduce battery cycles is to use the phone less. And for the record, I've read that site many times in the past.

I had mine on for two days...the first day with normal use, taking some video and pics, along with some random youtube video watching, texting and phone calls. Today I had 46% and I have watched Xfinity Comcast Live TV at a hospital for 3 hours straight along with regular smartphone use, and as i lay here on the couch typing this, at 9:15pm I have 14% left. Just wait til your phone gets down to 15% one day and you really need all the power you can get...with no charger. That last 15% seems to last forever. Really love the battery on this 6+. A total beast of a phone. Super pleased.

i was trying to let mine die so I could post a screen pic. i finally gave in and charged at 40% after 6 hours of usage and 7 days of standby

The standby (lack of) power consumption is really amazing in this phone. I charged it last night before bed and unplugged it at midnight. It was still at 100% when I got to work this morning.

A cycle is a cycle. Topping it often will not equal less full cycle counts but instead let you have more charging cycles before the battery loses performance.

You are both right. You can charge the phone as often as you want, the number of cycle still remains the same.
But I avoid using the phone when I'm charging it, since it get too hot and that's not good for the battery.
I guess the best advice is to charge it every night when you go to bed, even if you have more than 50%.
And of course the more you use it, the more cycle you have on your batter.

Do you guys have background app refresh on? I'm wondering how much juice that usually takes. Not getting near what some of are you are getting. I've already got mail set to fetch once an hour only, background app refresh for just three apps. Wonder what else I could do to improve battery life.

I'm really not sure what's going on with my 6 Plus. Battery was great the first day, but has been terrible ever since. I even have every battery hog feature turned off, including all system location services. :(

The same is happening to me. I was pretty impressed during the weekend, it lasted 11 hours on Sunday with heavy usage, browsing and watching videos on YouTube. At the end of the day I still had 7% battery.
But since then, battery got much worse. On Tuesday I only got 7 hours doing the same things and needed to get it recharged before evening.

I have only run mine all the way down once after it was about 2 weeks old. I got 11 hours exactly. I typically have my phone plugged in 75% of the day listening to music while plugged into an external DAC. In normal usage I'm seeing 70-90 minutes for every 10%, which is consistent with my 11 hours. On the 11 hour run, I was in a location with poor signal for around 30-45 minutes and I lost about 8 percent in that time.

That's not entirely accurate. Topping it off still counts towards a charge cycle. If you run your iPhone down to 50%, charge it up to 100%, then down to 50% and back to 100%, that's one charge cycle.

So if you go to 90, then plug it in, after doing this 10 times, it's one charge cycle. It's no different than running it down to 0 and recharging it.

Running your battery to zero will not harm it. Running it to zero, then leaving it like that for an extended time (weeks or more), will shorten it's life.

Background refresh doesn't contribute to significant battery drain. iOS only allows background refresh when the iPhone is already connected (to wifi, cell, etc). It doesn't allow an app to refresh "in the background" by itself.

I was able to get over 12 hours this go around with 2 days of standby. This was again without push email (set to manual) and no push notifications except for texting. I'm going to turn back on push email and notifications for my social networks just like before and see with similar usage as I have done the last 4 days what times I get.

I'm going to be completely honest. If I use my phone for 2 hours straight playing various games and browsing the web, I lose about 70 percent charge. I have the brightness set to halfway. Is there any diagnostic tool out there to check if my battery is faulty?

I believe if you call Apple support then can send a diagnostic to your phone that you run and they get the results and will be able to tell you whats up.
