Some people will do anything for attention.

So they have video of at least the last hour, I mean I've been watching it for over an hour. I wonder if they can review and see if anything fell. The bottom is cardboard.

I hope this wasn't for publicity. Where are the parents?
Having a small bit of experience with giant weather balloons, attached payloads, and helium, I just don't see how this thing would be big enough to lift him off the ground.
FWIW, CNN dug up a "hot air balloon expert" who said given the altitude there, it could have contained enough helium to lift 100 lbs.
They asked for a scientific discovery, they got it. Turns out, humans disintegrate after only about 2 1/2 hours of helium exposure.
I wonder what kind of person you are to make such a comment.
CNN anchors probably weigh more and how do you turn everything into politics? A 6-year old boy is missing ...That is true, I forgot about the higher altitude out in CO.
Although CNN anchors are full of hot air and they don't seem to float away when in Denver.

I don't know, but that balloon looked really small compared to most other balloons. And the blimps are really huge relative to the payload compared to the size of this craft. This smells like a lot of BS to me. It's more similar to an oversized birthday balloon than a kiddie's goodyear blimp.
