So, the balloon has landed and where is the kid???

I'm sure the "balloon expert" took the dimensions (20 ft diameter by 5 ft tall) into account when figuring it could lift whatever weight he said.
I don't know, looking at that it doesn't look like it could carry 100lbs. That's waaaaaay too small. Think of a mylar balloon, how much can those carry? Hardly anything, they can't even pick up the tiny piece of plastic that holds them down. No way in hell that balloon could carry a kid.
Helium has a lifting capacity of 1.02 kg/m3 (0.0640 lb/ft3). FYI. Someone do the math, please.
300 regular sized balloons can pick up a 300 or so pound sumo guy... I saw it on a cartoon network show one day...
EDIT: Something around there...
Uhm?
You saw it on a kids show that was most likely animated?
Who dont, you also have to figure wind and lift, possible to pull something up for a limited time. It dont look good to me. The picture of the boy shown made him look a little on the petite side. Lets hope he is hiding.42.
I hate math.
Can you freaking read? Read the thread, look around on every news site.
I meant so the kid was not in the balloon, and where is the kid? You jerk.
two helicopters and a very large fishing net. they could slowly force it down.
I wonder about the temperatures and amount of O2 at 10,000 feet.

It took mythbusters around 3500 balloons to lift a LITTLE kid who weighted 44 pounds (20kg).
Yes, over three thousand balloons.
Like I said, I wasn't sure as I wasn't really paying attention.
