They seem to like attention. They go on “Wife Swap” and post YouTube videos of themselves. Now, they’re going to be on every talk show in existence by tomorrow morning. Hello, $$$.

Who wants to take bets? Will it be the Today Show or Good Morning America tomorrow morning? I’m gonna go with “Today” and possibly a Meredith Viera interview.

i agree
I really don't think this was any sort of grab for attention beyond a couple of parents legitimately freaking out that their child was being carried off in a runaway balloon.

Glad the kid was found.

I'm betting the kid wasn't glad he was found.

i am still calling it a hoax to get attention

OK, I'll take Diane Sawyer and Good Morning America.

Ok they said on the news that his brother had mentioned that he saw the boy in the ballon when it took off.

I bet the boys brother lied to help protect his brother so he would not get in trouble. That lie made all these police get involved in many cities wasting money and manpower that could have been used elsewhere.

I do agree they should punish the kids.

I did it the hard way with Archimedes' principle. Somone can check my math.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_elements_by_density
density of helium 0.000179 g/cm3
density of Nitrogen 0.001251 g/cm3

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buoyancy
Approximate a cylinder: 610 cm x 152 cm

weight of helium 7925 g
wieght of nitrogen 55525 g

bouyant force = 47600 g (104 lb.)

I guess that guy's right if I did it correct.

Yeah, if that thing were a cylinder and full enough to hold it's shape. I'm still betting on it not being buoyant enough.

I see a new Rick Moranis flick coming.

"Honey, I made the worlds coolest toy, naively tethered it to a lamp post in the back yard, and fit it with a box, large enough to accommodate one of our many small children."

The rescue effort alone may have cost tens of thousands of tax payers' dollars. The family should not make a penny off today's saga.

Agreed. If this does become a movie of the week, the family needs to repay the costs of this search.
