Haha mine does this too! For me it only does this when my phone is connected to my bluetooth headphones and no music is playing. If music is playing, or they are not connected the screen stays off.
In the same boat.
However, I noticed it only happens when the phone is far away from the headphones like the opposite end of my office.

I don't even have headphones connected but do have FaceTime and message forwarding on my macs so maybe it's that which causes it? Either way bizzare

Ahh, I cant find my Jabra Motion which is the best I have used, so I have used an old Plantronics which seems to disconnect and connect every 10 minutes which causes the screen to light up.
Thanks for the tip.

On 9.2.2 if you have a device on att the update is worth the number sync feature. You can connect your iOS enabled devices to make calls on just a wifi connection. You no longer need the phone to initiate the calls. Pretty cool. Haven't noticed change in lag though.

I did. My 64gb 6s+ with Samsung chip had unlock lag and frame drop. Took it back.
thank you for quick reply. I wanted to change my 6s+ 128 tsmc to 6s+ 64 Samsung today. Now I will definitely keep my phone.

Ive been through two handsets - both 6s+ 128GB.
Both have exactly the same lag upon unlocked via Touch ID.

I have my third handset arriving tomorrow - maybe 3rd time lucky!!
All were ordered a week or two away from each both - hoping to get different batches.

Will try the third [and final] handset tomorrow to see if thats any different. If not, then I'll need to wait [and hope] for iOS 9.2 as Im convinced its software related rather then hardware?!

The fact that i got this lag back when i was restoring convinces me that its software thing. So i would not play exchange game for this matter. I would just wait for sw update.

This lag/delay makes a faster TouchID sensor pointless. Some observations:

6S 64GB Samsung 9.1/9.2 PB2- Minimal lag. When it did lag it would be a split second and the functionality of the phone was not affected. Unfortunately this unit had what looked like a poop stain on the top of the display.

6S 128GB TSMC 9.1/9.2 PB2 - Back to the 1 second or even longer lag.

AT&T on both.

I'll try a few clean restores. Goes to show the Samsung chip may be advantageous. iOS 9 feels like it was cobbled together out of legos. Like we went from Windows 7 back to Windows '95. Guess I can't laugh at laggy Android phones anymore.

Same set up with mine, except I'm on 9.1. I actually think iOS 9.1 made the 6S Plus a little faster even. As if that were possible given how fast it was already out of the box. :)

I think I had slight status bar lag on 9.0, but since then I've had no lag at all. Well, my phone has no lag. At my age, I have a little built-in lag now. :D

Try doing Insanity, or Insanity Max 30 HIIT workouts. Trust me, you don't know what body lag feels like till you have finished either one of these 30-60 minute workouts, lol. :D Oh, btw, B-12 will help with that built in lag, even at your "young" age. ;)

Yes, that's exactly what mine does. Only when far away. Perhaps it's just losing the connection and then reconnecting? Are you using Jaybirds?

Did you get another device? Does it have lag?

6s 128 gb TSMC has -lag
6s plus 128 gb Samsung -lag - returned
6s plus 128 gb TSMC -lag - currnet phone
6s plus 64 gb Samsung -lag - returned

All these have status bar lag. My current phone has status bar lag but most of the time it is less than a second. I just accepted it as is and hope that the remainder of the lag and the frame drops get fixed in a future updates.

Well it's been over 36 hours now and my latest 6S+ still has the unlock lag. Normally I would restore to remove it but I'm testing out the experience of others here who say that their lag disappeared in a few days. Quite what the phone might be doing is beyond me, because I have Spotlight Search toggled off for every app and I haven't installed a backup.
