Here is a blue screen compared to a "yellow" screen

The "yellow" screen is more accurate and a better representation of real life.

The "yellow" screen only looks yellow when compared to the blue screen which is NOT the correct colour.

If you think the blue screen is the correct calibration then you're stupid. It's too blue and the colours are off. And yet, you have these same people crying that samsungs phones are over saturated.

Jesus Christ.

I would take the cooler one, no chance that i would read read text / browse white pages from a screen that would look like an employee pissed to the device. For me the issue is "does the white pages look white."

With samsung phones, you can change the saturation i think...

Amazing Apple needs to ditch LCD next year glad my iPhone 6s this years was defect free.
It's like playing screen lottery.

It isn't uniform.. I have this weird shadowing and a brighter spot in the middle.. It's hard to tell from the picture but it is in fact there
Good luck playing the exchange game. I'm on my 7th iPhone 6 (in less than a year) and most of the time you will just get one with different problems with yellowing dark shadows or smudges or color shift. My current one has a slight yellowing in the upper left. Your's looks like it has slight yellowing in the upper right. It's noticeable in safari as the search bar goes from a pee yellow to a cool blue. And actually the whole screen goes from a warmer yellowish white to a cooler blue left to right. All of these defects are only really noticeable with black text on a solid white background which does suck since the UK is primarily those colors!

I've looked at multiple idevices including my own iPad 4 which I always thought had a perfect uniform screen and they all seem to change color temperature slightly from a warm yellow to a cool blue left to right. My wife's 6 does this. So does my old iPhone 4 and my moms iPhone 5c. It's very hard to find a "perfect" uniform LCD on anything! I'd say live with it man. It too much hassle and the OCD drives you nuts after awhile. Let it go. I've been there! The risk of getting one that is worse is very real since I still have a phone with the FaceTime camera crescent and a yellowing shadowy screen after multiple replacements and one new in box replacement. I'm at square one but at least I have a new battery in my phone! The iPhone 6 and 6'S QC sucks this time around.

alright man. Thanks. I think I'll just stick with this. Hopefully Apple fixes up their QC on iPhone 7 or uses OLED screens next time around.

They only look yellow because you're showing it beside a blue screen. It's your eyes playing tricks on you.

When using the phone you won't notice anything

So honestly if every iPhone had the same screen tempature this would not be an issue. But when you have had an iPhone with that blueish white tempature it's hard to get used to a warmer tempature.
If we had a warmer tempature from day one then this wouldn't be an issue for us. But the problem is we know what we like and I think us as consumers should be able to get a phone that we are happy with.
For those of you that don't care. Great, I am happy for you all. Unfortunately there are some of us that prefer the blueish white tempature.

I think that's how I would phrase the issue with mine as well. Like it's not obviously brighter in the middle but I can just feel it not being as uniform as my iP6+. The yellowness also bothers me, think I may try my luck with a replacement.

ugh how does this look? I don't feel like driving to the apple store. Can I request an exchange through apple support online?

Yours is good mate, it's not worth trying the exchange game with yours as you're more likely going to find a replacement with a worse screen than what you've currently got.

Finally someone who hasn't drunk the blue screen cool aid lol. I'm wondering how many of these "yellow" screen iPhones that people are complaining about and being exchanged, are actually properly calibrated. And before anyone jumps on that statement. I know these screens aren't calibrated and different color screens are just the result of manufacturing variances.

Calling someone stupid because they like something that you don't isn't really nice. Thankfully we ALL have been given the ability to choose, some sooner than others :)

Actually, neither of those screens is accurate. Left is too blue/purple, the one on the right is too green/yellow. Good try though.

Thankfully not all eye's are the same nor are people's likes. Get what makes you happy. We go through this every year and every year, there are people like you who insert their opinions thinking they are fact.

Warmer screens are good on some things. However, when most of the OS is white, it's not good - it's yellow and dingy. The screen needs to be shifted more to the blue side for a cleaner/crisper image. Having such wild variations in lcd color is not good. Especially when there's no way to change it. On tv's and monitors, you can adjust it to preference. On mobile devices, you cannot.

Thanks for your awesome explanation.

I don't mind yellow or blue really and from your test warmer seems to equal real color so it's perfect to have one warm screen.

But I think some people here complain about lack of backlight uniformity especially on top where the screen is darker and it appears as kind of yellowish strain. I do mind about that. I think it's fair enough to ask for good backlight especially when some demo unit in apple store are almost perfect.

Well the ting is... my slight yellow tint would not be so bad if the brilliance wont suffer from that. if i compare reading a text on a webpage on my 6s vs. my 6 the 6 is much more clearer, crispyer and sharper than the 6s screen. that is a fact.

I used to prefer cooler screens with a blue tint and always thought warmer screens were too yellow.
My wife is an optician and as such I've recently had glasses with anti-reflective and anti-bluelight and the difference is amazing. Every screen is now a neutral warm colour, even my work HP laptop which was extremely blue is now neutral. I suffer less headaches and now cool screens look unnaturally blue without the glasses.

True. Yellow screens don't make colors pop, like say a pair of brown/yellow sunglasses. On iPhones, everything just looks dull. That being said, some people are a bit naive thinking they will find perfect screens. If it's not too bad, I say stick with it. Or you can play the screen lottery and lose your sanity. :)

Ill stick with it. Only 11 an da half months left ;)

The most problematic (or annoying) part of this issue is that Apple will never display devices with yellow screens in the Apple Stores. :(
