I just returned my silver 6s due to screen temperature/consistency issues. I figured I'd go with the black face so the white face isn't constantly contrasting with the yellow screen.

The space gray I'm posting on now is waaaay better. Luck of the draw, as always!

I got a week 36. I think this is the earliest I've had.

Think it was 37 and 38 before that.

Previous was TSMC this one is too. Not sure about original didn't have the app to make it happen

I'm also here to debunk that all display devices are pure white screens and the same, and perfect.

I grabbed a handful of demo 6s+, and side by side they all seem quite different imo (while trying to eyeball them waiting for my appointment and looking under that bright light that makes everything doable)

WHICH PICTURE IS MORE ACCURATE?

stop avoiding the FACTS in my post with your nonsense.
I could give a crap about which picture is more accurate. Some of these screens are too yellow and not bright enough. Some people don't like them. End of facts.

LG and Japan Display have the worst QC when it comes to mobile screens.

But also remember, having your screen too dim will make it look Yellow so the trick is to find the sweet spot.

the blue screen isn't accurate.. that's what i'm getting at. you clearly don't get it.

Out of the four 6s phones I've had/have only one of them had a bad screen and that was really dark top half of the screen.

coffee stained... thats exactly what it describes best... not really a hard yellow tint... more like a white sheet of paper with a little cafe latte all over.. :D

In my case a big café latte! but either way - Really enjoying the crisp white screen of my 6 again. Its crazy how much of a difference the white vs coffee makes when viewing web pages, mails, messages and the settings app.

You can tell yourself that all day long but I will still take a clear, crisp, blue screen over a washed out, yellow screen. And so will most folks. It's not an argument, it's a matter of personal preference. There has to be a balance and it just feels like most screens are too yellow.

I have to agree - Screens with more a blue/white hue may not be natural but look a lot more refreshing when using IOS.

Am I the only one that PRAYS he gets a iphone with a light yellowish tint. I find these phones to be a lot more accuarate especially when watching movies and looking at photos. Ive returned phones that were to blue or had a very blueish tint. I do admit though that there are some huge differences from device to device

Think the best thing for this issue would be to go to the feedback page (http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html) and recommend that a feature be added to the display settings that allows you to change the colour profile. This would be inline with OS X, since there's a setting for the temperature of the screen, which can make a big difference to the overall quality of the display and allows you to fine tune it to your own personal preference.

The strangest thing for me was that I restored my new iPhone 6s from a 6 Plus backup with perfect screen, and prior to restoring from backup I was like 'great another urine colour screen' but after this restore it's now the nice 'blue' tint I've been used to. Yet with my first iPhone 6s it was a very bad yellow colour that made the screen look constantly washed out. This therefore confirms it's calibrated through software and isn't the screen's hardware itself causing the issue.

Yes, you are probably the only one on the forum that does this.

It's also Apple's personal preference since they choose the neutral/blue tinted models for their in-store display units.

Nope. I prefer the slight yellow tint. It makes it easier on my eyes. While I don't mind if it's slightly blue, I've yet to have an iPhone with that glaringly blue tint. I had a BlackBerry once that had an IPS screen that was unbelievably blue tinted. Was pretty to look at for a few minutes but eventually my eyes started hurting.

My 6S+ has a slightly darker tint towards the top 5th of the screen or so. Otherwise the screen is great, no bad pixels, Samsung a9 (don't care really), no shutdowns etc. Its gotten to be such a lottery with these things ill prob get something worse. It takes me almost a full day to get everything restored back, all the passwords reentered, Apple Pay cards set up, RSA token re imported. I think I will just stick with this one. 99% of people wont even notice the screen not being uniform. Wish I was in that OCD'less 99% lol.

Could you guys tell your color as well when you have a backlight issue? Thanks

Mine were all black, with darker tint toward the top (some were yellowish).

more luck with other colours ? In my store silver demo unit seems to have better backlight display but this might just be luck.

So I went in to Sprint just for the heck of it and pointed out my display problems. The tech said yuck and swapped my phone out for a new week 38. Everything is great with this one. Good luck everyone.

If anyone cares: I have a new 5s. It's a more yellow tint. Genius confirmed at store. I can also see pixels at times that I couldn't on a cooler shade screen of 5 and 5s.

Still have a slightly darker tint on top left of the screen.

Went to apple store regent street to compare my 6s screen to demo unit.

All iphones colours have a problem to some degrees and some pretty bad, at least my eyes see that as a problem.

My unit (a bit yellow but i dont mind, i do mind of backlight uniformity) seems to be brighter than some demo unit that are more white.

I'll do the same test in covent garden soon. Unless I can find perfect display in the demo units I'll keep mine it's far too risky to have something worse! Or to have a perfect screen with the samsung cpu...

I returned my 6S to the Apple Store today (very easy process, they didn't even ask why I was returning it), went to a T-Mobile store and picked up a new one on the Jump On Demand program. The Jump On Demand is very streamlined now, I spent a grand total of 5 minutes in the store making the purchase, and because I was already a T-Mobile subscriber they didn't even have to run my credit. It's a really great deal.

I'm happy to say my new one doesn't have the yellow tint or dark corner issues the first one did. Woohoo!

On my 5th attempt, I've got a really nice, uniformly lit, blue-ish tinted iPhone 6s. I went for a 128GB silver/white for this 5th one after 4 Space Grey 64GBs, so read into that what you will.

I am on my 4th 6S Plus and still have a more yellow tinted phone. I am honestly getting to the point of just waiting a few months and playing the screen lottery via AppleCare.
The differences in screens is ridiculous and is a huge QC issue in my honest opinion.
It's really annoying.

I've inspected my friend 6s space grey 128gb and indeed is screen is better, white and non yellow.

Only the very first line of pixel is a bit non uniform on top but its visible only on white background. And to be honest I'll be happy with his screen. Perfection is impossible to achieve.

Anyone has a 128gb with yellow tint or non uniform backlight on top? Like darker areas ?

Ill recommend "dead spotter" app to do the test.
