Dear all - Just thought I'd share my 6s screen and yellow tint experiences since launch:

1. IPhone 6S Silver 64 GB - Factory: Foxconn - Perfect crisp white screen comparable with my current 6 but dead pixel!
2. IPhone 6S Gold 64 GB - Factory: Pengatron - Nasty yellow tint and uneven backlighting issues!
3. IPhone 6S Gold 64 GB - Factory: Foxconn - Better but yellow tint across left side!
4. IPhone 6S Silver 64 GB - Factory: Foxconn - Better but Yellow tint very noticeable against all other iPhone 6's and my iPad Air 2.

On that basis I returned them all and have now gone back to my 6 and enjoying the crisp white screen where the apple website doesn't look like its been coffee stained.

What I did find is that the foxconn produced phones have relatively better screens and in the Apple Store Covenant Garden where I have just returned from the 6S Plus's and most white and silver variants have crisper whiter screens. All the gold, space grey and rose gold versions had yellow screens when compared to my 6.

On a side note I compared my MBPR 15" against my new 12" MacBook and the MacBook was also heavily coffee stained! But the best thing was that I could go into display settings and change the white point to 7700K which made it look equal to the my retina pro. Wish the iPhone had this setting as it would honestly solve so many screen issues!!!

Calling someone stupid because they like something that you don't isn't really nice. Thankfully we ALL have been given the ability to choose, some sooner than others :)

Actually, neither of those screens is accurate. Left is too blue/purple, the one on the right is too green/yellow. Good try though.

Thankfully not all eye's are the same nor are people's likes. Get what makes you happy. We go through this every year and every year, there are people like you who insert their opinions thinking they are fact.

Warmer screens are good on some things. However, when most of the OS is white, it's not good - it's yellow and dingy. The screen needs to be shifted more to the blue side for a cleaner/crisper image. Having such wild variations in lcd color is not good. Especially when there's no way to change it. On tv's and monitors, you can adjust it to preference. On mobile devices, you cannot.

You're being ridiculous. Which picture on the phone is more accurate though? The one on the right.

The human eye is incredible and it can adjust.

A few years ago with the iPhone 4 I almost fell for the same bs. I used my iPhone 4 and never even noticed it was "yellow" until I saw a thread on here. Being logical unlike some, I used my phone just fine for years.

Web pages won't look yellow unless you directly put the two phones side by side.

The most problematic (or annoying) part of this issue is that Apple will never display devices with yellow screens in the Apple Stores. :(
Exactly. The fact that they cherry pick their own devices to weed out the yellow tinted displays just reaffirms that:

1. Apple is well aware that yellow tinted displays are out there
2. Apple also realizes that a yellow tinted display is inferior and not the proper calibration to showcase the iPhone's display capabilities. Basically acknowledgment of it being a "flaw"

To you it might not be a problem, but to others it clearly is. Why argue they have nothing to complain about when clearly there is a difference in tone?

My 6sPlus has a much warmer tint than my wife's 6 and it's most annoying when i use while sitting at my desk and can see the difference between my monitor and the phone, or at night while watching TV where again you eyes have to adjust between two different "screens".

And again, how come the phones on display in the Apple Stores are perfectly crisp? There is an issue here and it may affect different folks in different ways.

Good luck! Please keep us all posted. I compared my 6S+ to my wife's 6 and hers is pure white and super contrasty....cooler screens tend to do that. Mine is warmer and moderately tinted yellow and less contrasty. I have no issues with mine. I actually prefer it personally. Skin tones in photos look much more accurate and it's easier on the eyes with prolonged screen time.

I do photography as a hobby and my rMBP and 27inch ACD are all calibrated to 6500K for photo editing. And even then, my 6S+ is "cooler" or whiter than my laptop and ACD. It's amazing, as someone else here mentioned, that your eyes quickly adapt and you don't notice the differences in color temperatures as you use your device. So as long as the tinting is relatively even across the display, I am satisfied. LCD tech is imperfect and Apple may not been lighting them on both sides for the sake of improving battery life. They did that with the iPads at some point and I think that is what caused the book spine effect.

Not significant, but in support of your information, I have a 6S 64 GB Silver phone from Foxconn. The production week is 37 and it has the TSMC chip. It has a nice even white screen, just slightly warmer that my 6 that had a cool white screen with a little shadow at the top near the battery indicator.

Wow, that is crazy 4 returns still with screen problems.

coffee stained... thats exactly what it describes best... not really a hard yellow tint... more like a white sheet of paper with a little cafe latte all over.. :D

I think i'm returning my 6s simply because it has weird dark spots, is uniform, and I'm not happy with it. But for anyone with a uniform screen, this is gonna be out soon.

I'd be shocked if Apple currently exposes an API low level enough for an app like this. That's the whole reason right now your iPhone needs to be jail broken, to access low level system calls.

Now, I compared my 5s and 6S Plus a few days ago with a white screen and full brightness and the 6s Plus screen was definitely more yellow than that of my 5s. Today I ran the test again and the screen of my 6s Plus is much whiter than that of my 5s. Hmmm...

WHICH PICTURE IS MORE ACCURATE?

stop avoiding the FACTS in my post with your nonsense.

Keep in mind most of the stores are brightly lit, maxing out the brightness on the display units and causing variations in tint difficult to distinguish. Hope you all get acceptable units so you can finally enjoy your phones!

so as my second started getting a yellow blotch in upper left, i got another replacement

this was the last one my apple store had in stock, so i'll wait it out for a while should any other non-functionality issues arise.

don't want to mince my words,

but side by side next to my first replacement, this one is WAY brighter. at home it is too, glad to have serious brightness back. this one still seems warmer next to my 6+ but seems alright on its own and not jarring.

I think, and seriously hope, I can be done with this rat race.

The main issue I have with my 6s screen is the lack of brightness.

Although It's noticeably warmer than my 6, and has a slight dark spot on the top left.... But I can live with that.

The thing that annoys me is the lower brightness level. It's like 75% of the brightness of my old 6.
