A com
I promised a picture of my vivid unlocked 128 G Rose Gold iPhone 6s Plus. I've owned iPhones since the 3GS and had yellow tint on almost all of them ( and did the exchange until I got one that I was happy with) but this one is prestine out of the box.

Look at the colors and the whites. My husband and moms iPhone have the yellow tint on their phones and they are amazed at the quality of my screen. So they do exist people!!!!!!

A comparison between those screens would be great :)

I used to think I wanted a very blue screen, but I now think that I actually prefer slightly warmer. I think the biggest thing to look out for is simply a uniformly lit & colored screen. If you get one of these I would just keep it, because you will get used to it.

I would not trade a uniform warm/yellow screen and take a chance at getting one with uneven colors or backlight issues. Yes, apple will likely replace ones with glaring backlight issues, but at some point you might hit a wall and be stuck with what you have. Is it really worth all that effort? I played this game with my iPhone 5 and iPad Mini and it was such a hassle over something I gave up on and got over after using the devices for a while.

So like I said, if you open the box and aren't greeted with an eye-burning blue screen, do not fret. My 6S screen is slightly warm, but it is entirely uniform, and I felt like I hit the lottery honestly. It makes my iPhone 5 screen look like crap.

For a thousand dollar purchase, I'm quite content being particular about the quality of the screen. Why in the world would I want to pay that much for what is supposed to be white, to be yellow instead. Would you wear a slightly yellow shirt with your tux, when what you wanted to wear was a crisp white shirt? I think not. Would you drive a slightly yellow car if what you ordered was a white car?

You must not understand the production characteristics of LED displays...

If they weeded out everything but blue screens we would all still be waiting for an iPhone. We have to admit that the people in this thread make up a very small percentage of iPhone buyers. The general public will only notice something wrong with their new screen if it's flat out broken.

I swear my 6S+ changes colour temp every few mins. More often than not blue, then maize, then blue again. Is that the sign of a dicky display, of dicky software? I think the former, surely?

I think my eyes are playing tricks on me on this. Depending on the lighting situation, it looks like I have a cool display, and in dim light situation, my phone looks like it has warmer screen. Odd. I hope this isn't a feature for the iPhones.

Exactly! It is like you say for me, blue/cool in most lighting but then much warmer when the lighting is dimmed. I have never experienced this before on an iPhone, and I've had several over the years.

I feel similarly haha you guys are making me not want to do the Genius Bar shuffle and dance anymore.

I fear other issues.

Luckily jailbroken color profiles irons things out a little.

My 6s Plus is much more yellow than the 6 plus and the iPad. So much in fact that I probably won't need f.lux :). I'll probably get used to it but it seems in my experience, every new phone is the opposite of my old one. Blue > Yellow > Blue > Yellow... I wish Apple allowed users to change the color temperature.

I really don't understand all the fuzz about blue display tints. Who says blue is right? Under certain lighting a blue display might look more crisp but in other lighting conditions the blue tint washes out all the colors and makes red more purple. Also the gamma in blue tints is often very off. I personally don't like the blueish displays. In the past I returned a 6+ because the blue tint was too hard for my eyes, not very pleasing in low light. With my 6S+ I also had an exchange because of the blemish (see other thread) and I am more than willing to keep the warmer display i have in the exchange phone. As long as the display is evenly lit I always prefer the warmer tint. It is easier on the eyes, colors look more vivid and they are mostly closer to the perfect display calibration.

The top left corner of my display is darker :/ I didn't notice it until I read this thread...and now I can't unsee it anymore.. Should I take this to replacement now or next year.. (The apple service centre is very far from me tho)

I think the problem is that people get used to their phone (whether it's more blue or yellow) and then they get one that is significantly different. Since people were used to the previous color temperature, they assume that there is something wrong. For me personally, after using the iPad or my monitor, I notice a huge difference when I unlock the iPhone which is annoying. I didn't see much of a difference on the 6+ which had a more blueish tint and I preferred it.

My 6 compared to my 6S replacement (exchanged due to fingerprint below glass!)

My original 6S had a perfect white screen :(

Should I keep exchanging?

Both are at the exact same brightness level.

maybe if you had a 6 that was white, 6s that was too, and this one wasn't explain that to them

that does look a little bit too much jaundice imo

my 6s+ is a warm and definitely was compared to my 6+ i sold that was more blue and white, but with a little color profiles i think I'm just being OCD. Also glad I don't have the 6+ in my possession. Doing obsessive comparisons got old.

plus my air2 is cooler, but colors kind of pop a little more on the iPhone it seems because of the warmth. Fwiw I like that the pad is cooler if anything cause holding a magazine size tablet I would prefer all that white to be as white as possible to look like I'm reading a piece of paper

my 6s+ screen isn't nearly as warm as my rMB

I just gotta get used to the differences between devices

I can handle a different tint but mine definitely changes, and it isn't due to auto-brightness. I can be perfectly happy with my screen but then all of a sudden it will go smokey and washed out, even if I ramp the brightness to max it still looks smokey but with a lightbulb maxed out beneath it. Then it will return to normal again. I'm not sure what the heck is the matter but I'm certainly not imagining it...

Yes, I have something like this with my 6S Plus.

The colour temp of the display changes depending on the ambient lighting. I think this is to be expected. At home with incandescent lighting , my screen looks great. Very uniform and a nice white colour.

In the office with fluorescent lighting, the colour temp is bluer and sometimes looks a bit grey. The contrast of the text is lower and things looks a bit cloudy.

What's really weird is when in the office, the right hand side of my screen is ever so slightly bluer (brighter) than the left. Sometimes when I look at the screen, it's not there. Other times it's very noticible. I sometimes get this outside too on a bright day. When I'm at home in the evening, I don't see any of these screen issues at all.

I've seen this across 4 iPhone 6S Pluses so it isn't sometime localised to 1 iPhone.

I'm glad someone else has noticed this as I started to think I was seeing things and going a bit loopy.

Totally agree with this, i have been comparing displays in the shops today and the warmer ones looked much better. I am just trying to decide whether to upgrade from my 5s, but if i do i hope i get one with the warmer yellowy tint.

Let's see the replacement you got!

Warmer/ cooler than the last?

Exactly the same colour temp, ie slightly cool, but it doesn't do that annoying switch to a washed out smokey yellow in dim lighting.
The screen is cured in that regard. I just knew it was faulty!
