If it was very bad and you noticed it really soon, I would return the phone and get a new one - as you are within the 14 day exchange period. I am going to "threaten" to keep doing that until I get a blue white one as my i6 as I think that's only fair after we spend so much on all these phones, the least they could do is get us a proper one we are happy with :)

I got my phone in March. Even compared to other 5S', my display is too yellow (iPhone on the right is mine):

Genius who examined my phone said there is nothing wrong. I guess yellow display is an Apple thing…

has any one else noticed a yellowish hue on their 6s ?

in comparison to my 6+ , there is certainly a yellowish tint on the screen ?

perhaps i have a faulty unit ?

so my phone has a slight yellow tint too, should I get it exchanged? On one hand, the warmer tone is a lot easier to look at at night, but I don't want to keep it if it's a defect. Anyone more knowledgable about this stuff want to set us straight?

Mine is as white as can be! Not yellow, and not cool blue...But whiter than any iPhone I've ever had. Guess that's a good thing.

Same thing here for my 6s+ vs my 6+. The S is a slight bit warmer in tone, but I actually prefer it so no complaints here.

Ditto. Compared 6+ to 6S+ and the 6S+ is without a doubt more yellow or 'warmer'. I wouldn't say I necessarily prefer it but it's only slightly warmer and it doesn't bother me at all.

Hey, I am extremely picky with my tech, but as long as the yellowing is uniform throughout, it doesn't really matter. The screen is just warmer and you will get used to it. Now, if it's spots here and there, I would take it back.
Agreed.

I just compared my 6 Plus and 6s Plus and the S is ever so slightly warmer than the 6.

I'd prefer a cooler screen but there's no way I'm playing the screen lottery again and going through that mess.

Here are some side by side shots of my 6 Plus vs 6s Plus.

What are your thoughts? I personally don't think it's worth a trip to the Apple Store.

The 6 Plus has a pinkish hue and the 6s Plus has a warmer hue.

Well clearly one is more yellow than the other. But that's just it. Everything is relative. The true test is to stop comparing the two, then just use the yellower one for a couple of days and see if you stop noticing it. That should be the gauge by which you decide if it's okay or not imho.

The other one looks pink by comparison. It's a photo though nothing trumps looking at it with a blind eye and on its own too, of course without side by side.

If it bothers you, or think it might, sleep on it.

Weigh your options. How much do you wanna play the panel lottery?

I got a keeper on my hands counting my blessings :)

Oh really? My iPhone6 is on the left - I was so used to this more crisp cool white and I guess I'll try to exchange it for something similar.

Thanks for your feedback. Is this yellow tint reason (when I show them the comparison to my i6) a valid reason for them to give me a new i6s? I really don't want to live with this yellow hue :( haha
My husband had trouble with iPad tints once. It was the models before the IPad Air. He got one and it was dark and murky and a blue green tint even at the highest brightness setting, so he returned it but found that the new one had a gradient that went from pink to teal. He returned that one and got a nice one, finally. They did try to say they didn't see anything wrong with the first murky screen, but he was firm and polite about what he was looking for and what he was dissatisfied with about the existing screen he had received. The one with the gradient of colors was an obvious psychedelic fail so they took that back without a question.

In the end they had more incentive to please a polite paying customer than trying to preserve status quo on units that clearly didn't even come close to meeting the standard. I can't say what might happen in your case. It would depend on whom you get to speak with and how you present yourself.

Be confident that you believe the display is subpar and politely insistent that you be allowed to exchange it. But be reasonable if stocking issues prevent them from accommodating you on the spot. If your work depends on your having a decently bright display, speak up and let them know. There are people who depend on these displays to place product orders for certain colors of the item they are buying. They can't do their jobs on a screen that skews yellow. They would think they are ordering rose gold but could end up ordering pink instead. ;)

At worst, you have the right to return it and get your money back. Then you can try to buy again another time. You might want to check the demo units at the store. If they are all yellowish this just may be repeat of how the displays were on the IPhone 6's for the earlier days of their production run. I didn't see those bright clear screens until several months after the launch. Best of luck to you.

I agree. It's actually less noticeable to my eyes than the pictures. Even though the S model is a bit warmer, it definitely looks brighter (to me) compared to the 6.

And you're 100% right, the 6 does have a pinkish hue.

If I didn't sit there and compare side to side I wouldn't have noticed anything. Uniformity is the big thing (which I'm happy with) so I won't be playing the lottery haha.

So if you want to do the swap then don't you have to wait until they have replacements in stock due to the phone's being back ordered?
