so my phone has a slight yellow tint too, should I get it exchanged? On one hand, the warmer tone is a lot easier to look at at night, but I don't want to keep it if it's a defect. Anyone more knowledgable about this stuff want to set us straight?
Seriously? You want someone to tell you your phone is defective? That's like someone telling you your soup is too salty. If you don't mind the way it looks and it works as expected, it is not defective, period. Think for yourself.

Mine also has a yellow tint when compared side by side next to my iPhone 6 and my wife's iPhone 5. I will wait few days to see if it gets better on it own, if not I will take it to apple next week.

Would you guys take this one back for a new one? Left is iPhone 6, right is 6s.

No, I want someone with more experience with these screen issues than I do to tell me what they think. This thing costs a lot of money, there's nothing wrong with being nitpicky.

The S model looks a little darker than the 6. Are they the exact same brightness?

I definitely see the issue you've pointed out, but I feel like there are worse ones out there and the screen lottery is never fun to play bc you could get something worse.

Turn both screens brightness down all the way (so they're the same) and take another picture.

That's what I did on the last page for comparison.

My 6s Plus has an excellent screen for once. Nice and cool. I noticed last year that the 6 Plus models tended to have a more even screen than the 6 and in some cases this appears to be happening again.

Yep, same brightness, same contrast settings. Here's a 0% brightness picture, it seems a lot better at that level IMO. & yeah, I'm not sure I want to task the risk of getting a new one that could be a lot worse. To be honest, it is kind of nice to have a warmer color, makes night viewing a lot better. I'm not even sure I want that bright blinding white again.

I probably wouldn't bother.

If anything can iron it out with a jailbreak tweak called color profiles once jailnreak comes out.

My 6 s plus is definitely warmer thasn my 6 plus.

A bummer, but I stopped really giving a **** about this 4 iphone cycles ago. This is just the nature of the beast. After a while you will not even notice it. Of course you are going to when you hold it side by side.

it is not at all worth the hassle and time of trying to track down one that has the perfect display for you.

I won't bother exchanging. Most of my new devices always appear warmer when I first get them, I think they somehow run in and become less "yellowish" over time. Besides, like what you've said warmer is better for the eye.

Just don't go about comparing to every other device you can and you'll be happy with your spanking new phone :D

It becomes less yellow because you get used to it lol.

Anyways the only fix is a jailbreak tweak caller color profiles. You can make your screen pink, blue, yellow whatever

Nope, I actually do side to side comparison after a while and it looks less yellowish compared to what it was when it was out of the box

I never really notice any device being yellow when I'm using it by itself though, it would be a real problem if I think it's too yellow by itself and will most definitely request for a change :p

This doesn't look bad at all. It actually looks just like mine from the last page.

I've played the exchange game and there's always something "wrong" with the new phone you switch it out for. Whether it's a piece of dust under the lense, the home button is loose, side buttons don't click the same, scratch, etc.

Now if it was bad (like some other pictures in here like that 5S) you have to change it, but I'd say not to worry and enjoy your new device.

Mine is yellow too - I'm going to setup a return

Can everyone post some pics?

I'd love to see us do the same in 3-5 days after some use to see if they really do get better with use ha.

I'm not reading through 6 pages to see if this has been discussed already but I've read a lot of articles online that explain that the screen may look yellow for a few days, something to do with the adhesive cover, but should become normal after a few days.
The first thing I thought when I switched it on was that it definitely had a yellow tint, this was even more noticeable when placed next to my 6 Plus. I'm not particularly fussy about these sorts of things so its not an issue, i've already stopped noticing it.

Purchased 4 iPhones because I've got enough of the Apple lottery in the last years. 1 of them was horrible, like REALY horrible. UNEVEN dark screen, big shadows and yellow tint. The other 2 were ok, but had big shadows on the top of the phone. And the 4th one was the best of all 4. STILL slightly warmer than my iPhone 6 (but my iPhone 6 was cold as ice, I have to admit), but overall more or less an even screen. It's not perfect by any means.. But it was the best of the 4 and I will keep it. Don't want to run into the lottery. And for those who want to exchange it.. I wouldn't, I would give it back and buy a new one.

You know what's funny though - when I go to the Apple Store theirs all have a slightly "cool" look to them.

They're must be one warehouse where the best supplier of displays are located and they stock their stores with those phones.

this is jeff's device from iDownloadblog, he's doing RAM comparison on safari but tint differences look obvious to me in side by side, also don't know if brightness is like for like but even so:

Ok I'm going to put this out there because I've been dealing with Apple since the very beginning of the iPhone craziness.

If it's a little warmer than your current phone, give it a few days, your eyes will adapt. Play with the brightness going from lowest to highest, and leave it somewhere in the middle or a little more past the middle. I've seen my phones be very warm at first and than a few days later simmer down and have a more white hue to them, sometimes even a little cooler. Either way within a few days your eyes will adapt.

Now if it's really yellow, and has an almost dirty white look to it and you just can't get used to it, return it and look for an exchange because that will never be something that will change color wise. Forget the stories of glue drying and all that, a very warm yellow screen is a very warm yellow screen and is not changing.

Keep in mind once you begin the exchange game, whether it be a dead pixel, a teeny tiny dot of a scratch, or a yellowish screen...Your opening up the gates to the iPhone return lottery where the next phone can end up having 2 more issues than the one you have now, and honestly you will drive yourself nuts if you begin going back and fourth to Apple.

Good luck everyone.

i went into return hell for the 6, before i tried a 6+ really liked it and nailed the screen lottery.

it kind of ruined my excitement for the 6, living at an apple store. positive theres lots of crappy plus out there too though.

good luck! i had a few stinky rMB as well before getting a decent one.

iPad air2 and 6s+ I nailed it!! phew

it makes me a lot more tempted to hold onto my devices for as long as possible, dreading getting a new iDevice thats faster but visually a step or two back from the standard i'm used to.

Now that 6s+ has 2GB of ram, and benches on par w/ air2 and crushes it in single core too in fact, might be a long haul keeper. we'll see as always though.

wow.. it feels like 90% posters have a yellow tint!
wtf?
where's Apple's QC??

I just got mine today from the Apple store, but haven't unboxed my 6S Plus yet. So I wouldn't know until I unbox mine but most likely I will not care about the tinting issue.

I don't think it's as wide spread as it looks.
Remember most who are happy won't post about having a perfect phone, it's those who usually aren't so lucky who vent and post. We're just a very specific bunch that nit pik, most of the millions won't and can't even tell the difference.

Like I've said for so many years and others have as well, it turns into a lottery with something as mass produced as an apple product. I've gotten Retina Mac Book pros with yellow screens, iPhones, iPads, etc, it's just the name of the game with mass produced items.

As for my 6s plus, the screen is neither Yellow or Cool Blue, or even that whitish pink I've seen in the past,,,It's extremely white like a sheet of paper, and honestly im pretty happy with the screen color. Took a little adjusting since me 6plus was extremely cool, but after 24 hours I'm fairly happy with it.
