That's why I never believe in early adoption or queueing/reserving for my purchase.

Let Apple sort out their hardware and software issues first. Give it a couple of months. By holiday season it should all be good.

It will not be 'all good' unfortunately this isn't an early adopter issue.

iPhone 6 and 6 plus continue to suffer this issue.

this is an S model with same screens, it's lack of QC and buying one months later won't have any bearing on the fact you're still rolling the dice.

may the odds be forever in your favor

Keep in mind once you begin the exchange game, whether it be a dead pixel, a teeny tiny dot of a scratch, or a yellowish screen...Your opening up the gates to the iPhone return lottery where the next phone can end up having 2 more issues than the one you have now, and honestly you will drive yourself nuts if you begin going back and fourth to Apple.

Truer words may have never been spoken! Been there, done that.

Can everyone post some pics?

I'd love to see us do the same in 3-5 days after some use to see if they really do get better with use ha.

It doesnt get better with use.

But it is perceived as getting better, because everyones eyes adjust to the new phone, and they are not constantly comparing it to a different one

Purchased 4 iPhones because I've got enough of the Apple lottery in the last years. 1 of them was horrible, like REALY horrible. UNEVEN dark screen, big shadows and yellow tint. The other 2 were ok, but had big shadows on the top of the phone. And the 4th one was the best of all 4. STILL slightly warmer than my iPhone 6 (but my iPhone 6 was cold as ice, I have to admit), but overall more or less an even screen. It's not perfect by any means.. But it was the best of the 4 and I will keep it. Don't want to run into the lottery. And for those who want to exchange it.. I wouldn't, I would give it back and buy a new one.
feel like my 6s looks fine..

looks like mine iPhone 6s looks perfect.

Would you guys take this one back for a new one? Left is iPhone 6, right is 6s.

No, I want someone with more experience with these screen issues than I do to tell me what they think. This thing costs a lot of money, there's nothing wrong with being nitpicky.

What I see it the two blueish tinted stripes on both sides of the screen, as in mine. Subtle, but there.

Although I prefer the blue hue, I've dealt with a lot of Apple devices before and their screen hue is not always consistent. I just deal with it.
My iPhone 5 had a yellow tint. My iPhone 6plus had a blue hue. My 6s plus has a yellow tint. Maybe my next phone will have the blue hue? Lol!
Like you I just deal with it. It's not like we're going to keep the phone forever. We all will eventually upgrade.

Just did my unboxing my my phone. So far so good, not noticing any yellow tint issues on mine. This one is a keeper, and is unlocked :D

My 6S is yellowish compared to my 5S, and appears less bright at maximum brightness. I wonder if this is related to the 3D Touch screen? I don't like it. Text is harder to read.

Ok guys I need some advice on what I should do. After driving an hour to and from the closest Apple Store to me, waiting 3 hours for an Apple Store employee to assist me, explaining my case, and then swapping out phones, I am still left with a display that is warmer on the left and then gradually cooler towards the right. I was fortunate in that I was paired with an employee who was sympathetic towards my cause, allowing me to swap out phones three times. Unfortunately, all three phones exhibited the same yellow tone so I ended up just keeping the one I brought into the store. It's almost as if Apple knows about this since every screen on the floor, at least the ones I saw, were perfectly white.

So now I am left wondering, do I really want to keep playing the Apple lottery game or should I try my hardest to learn to live with an inferior display?

Does 3D Touch and all of the new features in the 6s warrant dealing with a visually inconsistent display? Part of me is thinking about just cutting my losses, paying Verizon the $35 restocking fee, and keeping my 6, which has a perfect screen. At the same time, I was just beginning to enjoy 3D Touch.

Why does every upgrade have to be such an involved, anxiety-inducing, effort?

Tint DOES NOT mean defect. Every screen has a different color temp which makes a white more cold (blue looking) or warm (yellow looking).

It is NOT, say this with me, NOT a defect. It is a characteristic of the screen revision. You cannot compare a 6 to 6S screen. They're 2 totally different runs of screens with different tech used.

If everyone's screen is warmer that is just the color temp of your screen by that manufacturer, since there are many in the supply chain. But they all seem to be on the warmer side overall this year. Deal with it or go back to your 6/6+. People are clearly going through boxes at the store and they're ALL the same. You open yourself up to 50 other potential problems to whine about swapping out though if your phone is otherwise perfect.

If only a small # were exhibiting this then it may be more likely to be a defect but not when about 90% of people say they see it too. Either the 10% just aren't noticing it, don't care (as I don't) or aren't comparing it side by side with another phone which makes it even more obvious.

The screen tint on my 6s is a touch warmer than the 6. But it seems to be true to real life color. When I take side by side pics, the 6s is true to color where as the 6 makes the pics look cooler.rgu

This is not an intentional design change by Apple. It is the result of using multiple suppliers and accepting a larger variance of LCD panels in order to meet worldwide demand. It's been this way since the iPhone 5.

Didnt mean to insinuate that. Just my personal rational as to why I'm okay with the slightly warmer tint of the 6s. Lol

I feel your frustration about the warmer left tone that shifts too a cooler blue. I'm on my (cough) 7th iPhone 6 now and I've yet to see one without it. My current one has a darker upper left side this time (usually right side) too.

I was so excited to get my iPhone 6 back last December and after I first got it I noticed a dark shadowy grayish smudge in the middle right of the screen. It was very noticeable when scrolling text actually on this very forum and many places in the iOS UI. I chatted with apple support (first time ever) and agreed to send it in for repair. Sent it in they said it came back ok with the diagnostics but agreed to send me a replacement. And so the exchange game began. I did a few replacements only to have the next one come back with the same or worse issue.

Eventually they sent me a brand new one instead of a replacement. That one (my 5th) had the most acceptable screen yet it still had a bit of a dark smudge but the color was mostly uniform. It also came with 2 pretty decent sized scratches and a week later the FaceTime camera foam washer thing started happening again. That happened on 4/5. So I lived with it for a few months knowing I'd probably send it in again near the end of warranty in early January.

Enter iOS 9. Ah crap. It's laggy and slow compared to 8 on my 6. So I plan on keeping that version on my phone but I want to have high resale value next year (no FaceTime crescent) when I trade it in. So I sent it in and a replacement comes back with the same screen problems only worse. (Phone #6) I order up an express replacement and this one is nearly the same and I'm finally giving up. This is my 7th iPhone 6! Lol. I was really hoping they would up the QC by this summer but they didn't and now I see the same reports of it happening on the very similar 6S. Disappointing.

Having a non uniform screen is definitely something that I'd say most people don't notice or care and that's ok for them. But when a company touts having the best display and this and that I expect to have it! And once you see a yellow pee stained tinge on half of your screen or a dark dirty smudgy looking blob/corner you can't unsee it! They should have a fee for a better quality device that is pre inspected or something for like 50 bucks. Or just let the customer look at it before we buy. I'm so far away from a store though that I'm stuck mailing them in.

Hopefully they changer the display tech a lot on the iPhone 7 because the backlight sucks in the 6/6S. Or whoever they have making them isn't checking them properly.

Before I lined up (had it reserved) at the Apple Store I went in and checked the 6S against my 6 Plus by opening a blank email on both, looking back and forth I really couldn't tell the difference in white point, if there is any then it's so slight it's virtually impossible for me to notice after a few seconds. I can't understand though why they don't have a white point control in the settings menu of all iPhones, this would keep everyone happy.
