That is what I had read, too. That reps were saying everyone was getting expedited, so I didn't bother (and honestly I am excited to get it, but not anxious.) When it went to shipping, I noticed that it shows Worldwide Expedited service so thought perhaps what I had read was true. Now I'm seeing some say they are showing Worldwide Express. Just looked that up and it seems to be the faster service. Oh well, at least it's on its way and we aren't like some who are sadly still seeing "processing". BTW, I'm in Texas and checked this morning on apple.com and not seeing a single phone in the entire state show up online for pickup. So with that said, still glad I ordered.
Actually that's the problem. Unlike others ours isn't moving. Usually once it's in Korea, the next day it's out for delivery. It's now been two days and nothing. Orders on the same track as ours have already been delivered.

Yeah if it gets to us I'll be happy. I just hope we don't end up like others where it gets lost in the system.
So, i called Apple, because my order has been in the "preparing for shipment" status since Monday!!!!! So the guy told me they have my phone already wrapped up ready to leave their warehouse, that they're just waiting the carrier to come and picked them up and, that they have expedited the shipment so everybody can get the phones right away. It appears to be a problem from UPS because they are waiting them to come to the warehouse, maybe its due to Chinese holidays (i am assuming this part) , so he told me maybe i can get it by friday or saturday, that they have a contract to deliver saturday too. Soo lets hope we can get them by the weekend!

I am in the same boat with you, iphone has been in Korea for more than 24 hours, still no departure.

Getting closer
I was in the Oct. 7-10th estimate after calling early on and getting the upgrade in delivery options (2-3 business days). Not sure if it matters given Apple's rep statements to others that all are getting the expedited delivery option. UPS now estimates by end of business day delivery on Friday. I'm on the east coast USA.
It's been a painful wait with my broken iphone 4 the past two months. I'll be very happy to get the new one.
It seems to take about 5 days to get to your door once you get a change to "preparing for shipment". At least here on the east coast.

I'm clocking in around the same times as you but I do show that my 5S has finally left Korea. Maybe your tracking just hasn't updated yet. Delivery still slated for Friday.
Apple just told me there is definitely something wrong. They said our iPhones shouldn't be there for so long. They told me to contact UPS.
*Update. OK within minutes of getting off the phone with Apple my shipping status changed to show it left Korea... Man UPS is really dropping the ball on this. I think Apple is noticing that as well. I told the girl on the phone I don't blame Apple at all. I wonder if she said something to UPS lol.
I actually get better speeds in my downtown office in Orlando than AT&T but slightly lower LTE speeds at home (OK because I have wifi), so I think it entirely depends on where you are. I'm sure the nationwide coverage is not as great, but I don't travel for business often, so I am not too worried, and a family plan is going to be like half the price, no contract and free hot spot, so I can't complain.
i just called apple again and they updated my shipping to next day so whenever it ships, i will get it the day after. They also gave me the incase car charger that i wanted for free of charge because of all the fabricated stories the apple reps told to me. At this point i would believe anything any of them say unless you speak to a supervisor. At this time, i am still processing and i ordered 16gb sprint 5s gold 9/20 confirmation 3:10am. This waiting is crazy!
They're not. if you look at other orders they moved at a normal pace. Like I said in my one post, it appears Apple is aware UPS is messing this up. It's not on Apple. It's definitely UPS.

That takes some serious balls, sir. I wish I had the courage to do so. At this point I'm completely torn over whether to cancel. While shipping seems so damn close, it's just so far away. I wish Apple would be a little more concrete with shipping times, especially for people who have had their order placed 11 days ago.

I ordered from the online store a few moments after midnight PDT, on launch date. I slipped from 1 to 3 days shipping to 7 to 10 between ordering and paying. The device, an unlocked 64 gb gold model, shipped from China on 9/27 with an arrival date of today, 10/2 in Oregon.
I was concerned when yesterday UPS website said there was a missed connection yesterday in Louisville. All is well. Today the device is in Oregon and out for delivery.....Great!!
