The chat rep said that anyone could very likely see a "surprise down the road" meaning a delivery date bump-up, as we had all assumed.

Look - I want my phone as soon as possible, just like the next guy (or girl). BUT, people on this forum are just obsessed with every little detail from anyone they can talk to.

Do you really think that Apple's chat rep's have substantial information on manufacturing and shipping information?

Our awesome, amazing phones will be here when they get here people. Chatting and calling reps is going to make absolutely "0" difference.

I'm not trying to come down on anyone or be a jerk. Just truth.

I ordered:

"Matte" Black iPhone 7 128GB, for my fiancée as a surprise
Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus, 256GB, for me

Of course, hers has changed to "Preparing for Shipment" and mine is still processing (Sept 26-Oct 3)! LOL She keeps asking me if I think it's worth it for her to upgrade and I just keep saying "Nah, nah, maybe let's wait a month or so to see if there are any major flaws." Little does she know... :p

Gonna be sort of bittersweet to see her stoked about her new phone, while I'm going to have to wait another week or two. C'est la vie!

Similar boat, but told my wife she can't open hers until mine comes. But that won't happen.

Look - that's just what the faceless Apple employee said. And we know shipping dates have a habit of moving around.

Do you really think that I would be naive enough to think this guy had any actual idea on the status of that inventory or anticipated delivery dates? Or are you just angry about something else and using an Apple message forum to blow off steam?

Just truth.

I'd try again. Unless your preorder states "Next Day" by your line item, it's not technically the fastest method. That being said, I've had preorders with both standard shipping and "2-3 Business Day" shipping options both show up on the same release day. So there's some truth to what the rep said, but it would be more accurate if you had a release day delivery estimate.

I just spoke to a rep and had my order expedited. I also received an answer in regards to changing the shipping address for an ATT phone. I am now set for October 6th - October 13th

I've chatted in twice so far and both of them have said they're not able to change it. The first one said it cannot be changed, PERIOD. The second person said it can be changed, but I would need to call in rather than do it via chat. I guess I'll keep trying, lol.

That was my biggest mistake - I made my order and tried to get verizon and i just froze for about 20 minutes and lost my window.

Had I known and gone back - i would of gotten these launch times. Now Im stuck in november.

I posted this in the Tmobile thread but here's how the dates are handed out by the carriers:
Apple notifies each carrier that they will have X amount guaranteed. Obviously anything greater than that amount goes into a que and fullfilled in batches, not one for one. The initial upfront amounts were devices already at shipping hubs. With non stop flights from China all weekend, expect to see those 9/19-9/26 and later to move up to release day. You'll see movement Mon, Tues and Wednesday. This happens every year. The ship dates are always on the conservative side to offset anyone not getting their devices when promised.

I got this information as I know someone in supply chain management for VZW and currently works reverse logistics for them.

What's the appropriate topic to choose for chat? I'm getting forwarded to speaking on the phone and left on hold for hours.
Go to your orders and locate your 7 / 7 Plus order. There should be a line that says "Questions about this order? Chat now." Click the chat now button.
