7+ Jet Black (128/256) Date Change Thread

As far as I know they have always done pre orders next day no matter what method is chosen. I think people are just hoping that they are going to get their phone faster and I am betting that early next week we will see that it was completely pointless.

Guys they always ship pre orders next day, trying to get expedited is a fruitless endeavor. It may make you feel better to see a slightly closer date, but it isn't going to make any difference.

The funny thing is,s that all of those "getting expedited delivery" and "date changers" were gonna happen anyways, since there is a bunch of phones on hold until confirmed that expired today, so all those phones that went into hold when the system could not check your acc status with your provider, or when the page froze for those of us that waited for the page to go live, I for example got my phone ordered, and later on I got an email telling me they had a phone been held (since the site froze on me).
 
order/email 9/9 3:10am est 7+ JB 256gb GSM Tmobile with expected deliver 10/4-10/10 labeled as processing. After reading around, I firmly believe that there are no JB preorders, at least 7+, scheduled for delivery on the 16th. Because I've got other things to do the 16th, want to try getting GSM/CDMA verizon phone without an account, I figured I'd get up a bit early and wait in line to see what I could get and then just cancel my pre-order instead of waiting. I however had called the store I planned on going to because I had some other questions, and the rep had confirmed to me that their system doesn't show any 256gb JB 7+ in stock. Now I'm starting to wonder if there will be any actually in stores for the 16th.

Anyone by chance get a representative at a store to confirm stock availability for the 16th?

I've talked to a few managers and most of them said stores won't get very many jet blacks and what stock they have will be reserved for iPhone Upgrade Program customers for a few days.

Apple notifies each carrier that they will have X amount guaranteed. Obviously anything greater than that amount goes into a que and fullfilled in batches, not one for one. The initial upfront amounts were devices already at shipping hubs. With non stop flights from China all weekend, expect to see those 9/19-9/26 and later to move up to release day. You'll see movement Mon, Tues and Wednesday. This happens every year. The ship dates are always on the conservative side to offset anyone not getting their devices when promised.

I got this information as I know someone in supply chain management for VZW and currently works reverse logistics for them.

That's exactly how it works.

But it sucks for the people who ordered directly from their carrier because they won't be getting very many phones this year (just like last year) until demand settles down. *information from an executive at AT&T

Interesting. I wasn't told would be reserved for upgrade program. I already know the JB is in short supply. I think it was just pushed last minute as a test run for the so called glass back on the 8 leading to the short supply. She did say wasn't sure if any shipments would be coming during the week. I'd assume at least one or two will come. I'm hoping if I call thursday night, they'll tell me stock availability.

As you've talked to a couple, and it sounds like no stock and they sound unsure if would get any, now I'm even more interested if any stores have them in stock for the 16th or even will.

T-Mobile here, ordered a 128GB 7 Plus Jet Black. Estimated to arrived between 9/24 and 10/24. Really hope it bumps up or at least arrives at the beginning of the date range.

they are not. they are shipping from china (i think) via standard shipping which is like 5-6 days. at least thats the case with those that have an estimate in late sept-oct.
 
Just called Apple with the intention of requesting expedited shipping and got a message saying that because of expected high call volumes, they cannot take my call. The system hung up on me. Great.

Maybe if I can just go into a coma the wait won't feel so long.

Seems like every 5 minutes dates skipped. From 2:05 to 2:10 seems people got 26 to 3 and from 2:10'to 2:15 they got October 4 to 10. I got October 10 cause my order went through at 2:16

Same was said for rose gold last year. And many got it day of release or few days later. They do this to create hype.

I'm one of the few that is hoping the 26th is my deliver date as I'll be out of town with no-one to sign for delivery on the 16th-25th.

We'll see.

Spent 2 hours on hold with them waiting for a rep to talk to. She said they can't even do expedited shipping because the button is grayed out in their system. She said thats because they're already going as fast as they can. Hopefully it does ship sooner.
