If may date doesn't change and I have time on Friday morning, I'll go wait in line at the Apple Store and try my luck. I'd even spring for a 256GB if there's one available.

Waited in the chat queue for 45 minutes while watching TV, then the rep took less than 5 minutes to make the change.
Only reason why I got the "black" 256GB plus model is because I knew everyone and their mother would want the jet black followed by the 128GB model for both black models.
Let's hope my gamble paid off because my Verizon ship date is 9/23; I need it to jump to 9/16.

He said it casually. I suppose he meant that it was great in comparison to what the estimate is now (November). He was really non-committal in saying anything of substance. He wouldn't even speculate whether or not it would get moved up. Absolutely no mention of there being an earlier shipping window.
Yeah, the estimate I have now is the one I got when ordering.

Exactly my thought. I actually have two phones ordered (both 128gb 7+) one black and one jet black with October 4 dates.... I figure which ever ships first (if before launch) i'll keep and cancel the second. If neither ships before launch, i'm waiting in line, again.
These lead me to believe that the actual dates for Sept 26-Oct 3rd, are what you got moved to. At least based on past launches.
Where do u see a date range? My was originally stated to be "delievered by 10/5" then changed to "ship by 9/23". I also ordered through verizon

If this means anything - just looked at the Apple Store and ship times for 128 and 256 Jet Black ATT phones are now listed as 3-4 weeks, this morning it was November.
I think I'm going to give the $6 shipping thing ago? What have you guys been saying to the reps to get it?

there is a great chance it comes in that time span. if you have what i had which is Sept 26-Oct 3rd...its likely to ship on the weekend of the 24/25 (apple default is 5-6 day shipping)
